Dragon Quest Online (SAO/Worm)

Oh man, I freaking love this! So is magic a thing now in your version of SAO? Or is it only parahumans or AIs that get special skills?

[X][Update Action] You're not saying it was aliens, but... :turian: It was aliens. :turian:

[x][Update Action] Let's just say that drunk you is kind of a wizard and you're not going to try to find out.

[X][Update Action] You don't know. You're at your job, nothing is going on, and then you're waking up out in a field.

-[x][Update Action] Head to an area where you're less likely to be overheard, if possible.
--[x][Update Action] Or just ask Yui if there's some sort of a private chat system you could use; if there is, use that instead.

Okay, I've made up my mind.

If only because she might be the only player who could believe it. (and it's probably true)

[X][Update Action] "Yes, but I'm Canadian. Seriously, though..."

Can someone explain what the point of mentioning we're canadian is supposed to be?

What happens when you combine Samantha Carter with Grace Augustine and Lara Croft?
Answer: Helen Magnus Dragon? ;)
I never watched Sanctuary. My second choice was Tess Fontana, from Eureka's third season, but her actress isn't Canadian and I couldn't find a clean (solo, no watermarks) picture.

Yui said we were from the East Coast. Mentioning that we're not might help fill in the memory gap.

Basically that. Although, to be fair, I actually read it as West Coast at first, since that seemed like a more likely place to shift SAO to in my mind.

And technically, Newfoundland would probably run on the East Coast server. :V

Canada has an East Coast.

They're called Quebec, Nova Scotia, and whatever's left of Labrador, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick.

Pretty sure Leviathan sunk Newfoundland too.

Yeah. It's not actually that funny, sadly.

vancouver might still be not-east-coast tho, there is hope

That's as honest as she can be. Also, shouldn't she note with some worry that her avatar has her cape name on it? She is kind of famous as the world's number one tinker. There's a reason she uses pseudonyms for moderating PHO.

Aah, but nobody would ever suspect her to be disguised as her own number 1 fan!

"Soo, Dragon fan?"
"I... just feel... like I can really relate to her...?"

Now I'm thinking about golems again.

Control: worst case scenario, 'programmed' means that we have to input the golem's every step when we make it and never again. Best case scenario, it means that the way in which we control the particular golem can only be input once. Honestly I have no idea, except that the next step would be 'configurable'.

Intelligence: attack, guard... I really hope the third one isn't walk. :V

Complexity might involve the number and/or variety of moving parts. Although Module Slots might, too.

TL;DR: idk

My only experience with Golem(ancy) in games is the Thaumcraft mod, so much of my guesses are based off of that.
Golems in Thaumcraft are assigned jobs/designations by a core module, while their strength/speed is determined by crafting materials, so if we assume a similar setup, "Attack" and "Guard" work would count as jobs assigned by a module.

One job per module, one module per golem... and I was thinking that complexity would factor into developing specific modules for certain non-standard jobs, except "Programmed" and "Configurable" are already revealed as an independant part of the tech tree leading on up to the capstone.
That, combined with the relative independence of the two sides of the tree, makes me think that all the unlockables on the left side favour buffing a single golem unit, while the right side focuses on golem abilities and strengths as a more general universal buff.

I'm imagining a small formation of golems with one golem, of Pina-like intelligence or bolstered strength, that can give simplistic orders to the rest, or just has some nice bonuses like limited flight or elemental resistances. An adorable little chibi-boss golem with minions!

Edit: Apologies for the stream of consciousness

EditEdit: or maybe the right side favours physical upgrades, and the left side favours unlockable appliable buffs. Healing/Regen or Beserker style buffs applied to a selectable golem target.

Personally, I think that the "capstone" that has Intelligence, Control, Avatar, and Complexity as prerequisites gives Dragon the ability to ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL over one or more of her golems.

Probably going to be more important to level the right side stats at least once than to rush straight for that, though. Having Rank 0 Armor doesn't really appeal to me.

If that's so, then I'd be definitely curious at what it becomes after that. Could we have our consciousness in several of them instead of just one at a time?
