I'm rather cautious about the idea of joining but it's caught my attention. I might as well give it a shot.

Really need some Orleisians.
Why not? I'm a Bretonnia fan for Warhammer, Orlais cant be that different.

-House de Freyen
-House de Fermin
-House de Fontaine

I feel like you want to make your own fluff for your faction. :V

House De Freyen

Good on you though! It's similar, though a bit more Sun King, and I would definitely suggest reading the lore for it in the OP. To quote a particular favorite line of mine,
Varric: I have a serious question for you, Iron Lady.

Vivienne: I can hardly wait.

Varric: In the Imperial Court, if someone use the wrong fork at dinner, is that worse than death or just social suicide?

Vivienne: It's impossible to say, my dear. Anyone who is ever so mis-stepped would be stabbed to death with the proper fork.

Meanwhile in Ferelden...

Yeah, I'm one of those people who follow the idea that, the less background there is on a faction, than the less I'm chained down by preexisting thoughts and relations on how I should RP.

That said, I'm hoping this goes places. I think I might be cursed as EVERY SINGLE RP I've ever joined, usually dies out incredibly quickly, or falls into a massive Hiatus. The only 2 that haven't and are going strong are the only two I was never able to actually participate in:

A Fractured Galaxy & The Root of All Evil

I try not to let my RP's die off until nobody's having fun any more. So you're probably safe.

Though I will throw out there that you have SOME constraint on RP with other Orleisians because you're expected to be playing the Game at all times with other Nobles.

Alright. I better go get a fork proof Jerkin than. I'm not exactly the most Intrigue minded person and my anyone who's met me can tell you I'm rather blunt with my thoughts and ideas.

I'd aim for being a Chevalier then. Gives you the option of falling back on your militarism and chivalry in lieu of manners and culture when pressed.

Got it. I'll come back later. I need to charge this so it'll be awhile, maybe an hour or two before I can keep working on fleshing it out.

Ok, I'm back, how should I go about fleshing out the House de Freyen? On a side note, how big are the battles in this likely to be and often will characters be dying? I ask because I need to regain my manliness

Battles are fairly big, and people die fairly regularly unless they're fairly heroic.

I suppose on further thought that you should tie your family to the Fereldan independence war somehow. It might explain your families martial character.

Very well. That would make it a rather young family, correct? Probably raised into Nobility for service in the War?

Not necessarily. Perhaps your family held the majority of its lands in Ferelden. Maybe you were thrust into rule by your predecessor's untimely demise in the war. Maybe you subtly manipulated your political rivals into being killed in the war and profited from their losses.

Perhaps, perhaps. Though if the part of holding Ferleden land is the case, then where exactly is Freyen located in Orlais proper? And do I just post some form of sheet for the House here and you OK it or something?

I apologise if I'm making this difficult. I've a problem with explaining and detailing things. It's never short.

There's the thing: It existed solely as a one off NPC in Inquisition. Freyen doesn't seem to be a city.

Personally, I'd put it near Jeder or the Tirashan, your choice.

I'm not opposed to the idea, though we should probably include @Theravis as well.

What do you think, oh glorious Lord & Maker?
Please do. The Empire needs its communication.

Giving you a city very closer to the border makes a lot of sense. Theravis suggested Jeder, and I agree sans any conflicting canon info on the city.

Much like Freyen in general, it exists as a single point of data with no other information. Perfect for someone who wants worldbuilding.
