The tournament will be in 2-3 turns. However it will be a series of interludes so that everyone can participate without sacrificing their own plans.

Is that how this type of action works? If not, let me know!

I intend to go into the specifics with an Omake, but I can't write it, yet.

[X] Tan Bo
-[X] Action: Tan Bo has spent time in the past considering how he would combat his fellow disciples if it became necessary, but he's realized that he doesn't really have any experience fighting human cultivators. In order to test his capabilities (and gain more info on his peers skills) he shall join the Tournament Qualifiers (Combat).

Turn 15: Big Fish Story
[X] Hanyi Huoshui
-[X] Action: Hanyi spends the entire month showing off his new silk robes, giving every increasingly exaggerated accounts of what happened at the lake during Turn 14, and handing out free drinks to the listeners to see if they also think the contents of the gourd is stronger now.
-[X] [Elixir] Not using an elixir to cultivate.

Hanyi stumbled drunkenly through the gates of the Red Dew Sect, bedecked in his snazzy new silk robes and drinking excessively from the magical alcohol of his gourd which was now possibly stronger than before he left. The drunkard felt eyes on him and soon after noticed a few of his fellow disciples staring at him. Most likely due to the fact that he had vanished for a month and then returned to the sect dressed like a nobleman. Hanyi grinned and altered the course of his drunken stumbling, nearly falling over as a result but managing to stay on his feet by the fortunate presence of a barrel on which he was able to steady himself before continuing forward.

"Yooou... You aaare... You are not going to belieeeve the month III've just had." Hanyi slurred as he closed to talking distance with the staring disciples. "So theeere I was, on that top secred mishun to interrogate the truly IMPIOUS Groupers of lake Taiwei... Thooough I can't say that they're actually aaall than IMPIOUS now that I've actually gotten to know them."

"Wait hold on." One of the disciples said when Hanyi paused to drink from his gourd. "I thought that mission was revoked."

"Thaaa's whats the misson people want yooou to thing." Hanyi replied. "Or ratheeer... what they wan the Groupers to thing. To lull the fishes into a false sense of securty... and all that." Hanyi took another drink from his gourd. "But I'm getting off toping. Point is... I started poring magical alcohol into the lake."

"Why?" Asked a passing disciple who had stopped to listen to Hanyi's story when Hanyi paused to drink again.

"To get the Groupers drunk." Hanyi explained. "My plan was to get them all sooo drunk that they'd forget how to keep secrets. Ant theeen, once that happened, I'd go up to them and say 'Tell me aaall of the secrets.' and then they'd say 'Ok Hanyi.' and then they'd tell me aaall of the secrtets... But that didn't happen." Hanyi stopped to drink once more and then kept talking. "Instead... I spent maaaybe a week pouring magical alcohol into the lake before a jade person came out of the water."

"A jade person." A member of the slowly growing audience repeated.

"A jade person." Hanyi confirmed with a nod. "You know... one of those people who everyone thinks is really yearly pretty?"

"Do you mean... a Jade beauty?"

"...Ye." Hanyi said after a moment of thinking. "Aaanyway, the jade person seemed to think that my magical alcohol was meant as a givt... To her, that is. Not the Groupers." Hanyi drank again and then continued. "Before I could say otherwise though, the jade person offered me even more magical alcohol! Sooo I decided not to say otherwide and took the drink... Best. Stuff. Ever." Hanyi had another drink. "After that... the jade parson clapped her hand and a whooole bunch of servands came out and builded a fish pangolin. Then we went into the pangolin and spent the entiiire month partying. Oh it was a great time! Drinking... partying... singing... dancing... drinking... telling jokes... drinking... and then I woke up at the end of the month wearing these robes... Also I think my magical alcohol gourd had something done to it. It feels stronger than before. Anyone want to try?"

And then everyone got very very drunk.

Turn 15: Red Dew Rumours Mill
Omake: Red Dew Rumours Mill!!!

**Lake Tanwei Goddess**

After spending a month missing what everyone rightfully assumed was a drunk bender, Hanyi not only returns with shocking news but also stunning silk robes! Affirming that after pouring alcohol from his gourd into the dangerous Lake Tanwei, a Jade Beauty appeared and partied all month long. At first many were skeptical, but his story does have some degree of evidence with his new silk robes, stronger gourd alcohol and a strange mission from "Elder Yu". Now rumours of this mysterious Jade Beauty attracted some courageous disciples, who are putting many gifts in a quick assembled shrine near the shore of the Lake in an attempt to catch this supposed goddess favour! Only the Emperor knows if they can succeed, or even return alive from such endeavor as favours from the Heavens are not to be cheaply acquired.

**Gan Jia Stall at Half Price!!!**

The favorite stall of many disciples, Gan Jia's is back for the festivities surrounding the tournament, it's now at half price! This new discount plus with its popularity it's expected that a long wait line is unavoidable, and some may even go hungry to the shock of Gan Jia. Be quick if you want to eat Gan Jia delicacies before the day is over!

**BAD LUCK FORESEEN**

Elder Sister Xun Qingmei judge for the tournament, famed among disciples for her divination work is rumoured to have divinated an unusual amount of bad luck surrounding the participants of the no equipment bracket of the tournament. Her unusual harried behavior only adds fuel to the rumours mill. Is said that everytime a match starts, the feeling of dread around Elder Sister Xun only seems to increase! Can the misfortune be avoided? What is the source of such bad omen? All disciples participating in the tournament beware!!!

**So said the Drunk Sage**

Popular among disciples, no wonder Hanyi is a central figure of many rumours in the sect. Alas today our dear Drunk is the one to tell tales of strange people living in Lake Tanwei who apparently are all masters of flash mob, have a strange structure where they all shop called "The Maw" and finally all of them wear silks! Of course many of these tales were accompanied with generous drinks from his gourd from both the story teller and the audience.

**Lady of Fortune and Favours**

The first one in the rank of merits, Xingyun Xing has apparently spent it all in one go to hire 55 outer disciples to accompany and serve his Lady friend Shufen from the righteous Wildfire Sect! The woman who was quickly nicknamed by the sect as "The Lady of Fortune and Favours", gathered quite a crowd with her procession of servants-disciples - some even joining into serving her for the amusement of having a tournament "Princess"- Lady Shufen parade has become a merry place, many even offering to carry the now Lady of Fortune and Favours in a litter for good luck in the upcoming tourney.

**Popular with the Martial Sisters**

In an unexpected turn of events, before leaving the sect Xingyun Xing has grabbed the attention of all gossipmongers of our Sect once again apparently having had received a passionate declaration from none other than Lin Gui?! With his apparent affection for Lady Shufen, it caused a stir even with his delicate refusal. Many among our disciples even took a side, some supporting the righteous Lady Shufen bid for Xingyun Xing others took a shine for the dark horse Lin Gui. Some disciples paused for a moment to speculate if the cause of Xingyun Xing's recent popularity with the ladies might have a more sinister cause as witchcraft. As it may Xingyun Xing has departed the Sect Mountain for the Qi Survey, who knows in what state he will find the Sect when he returns? Or what hearts remain unbroken?

Turn 15: Strange Exam
[X] Lucky Dong
-[X] Action: Tournament Qualifiers (Formation)
This wasn't what Dong expected when he joined the Formations Tournament. Well, it was his first time, and he never asked his elders to prepare and advise him to join, but, he never saw this coming.

Examiner: we have a lot of participants in this qualifiers' tournament. Luckily, the elders free me from confinement because traumatizing new disciples is bad. Who will know?

He is definitely a disciple of the elder Nianzu.

Now, normally, taking this exam means we are going to take a test. First, your knowledge of formations, with a written exam, and which approves the written test will pass to the practical exam, but this year I'm in charge, so you will have both tests at the same time. The look in his eyes makes me feel uncomfortable.

For the written test, the examiner has an evil smile, you will have a paper sheet with different questions, and you have to fill it with answers. You have 5 days of time to end the test.

Nobody can leave the exam field until you finish, surrender or return the test, you can use the text books you have, work in groups or pray to the god you believe in the most.

At this point, the examiner got a look like he was looking at innocent pigeons, and he was a cat. He keeps saying that the problem is he only has 100 tests of 500 pages. He claimed that while he looked at the crowd with a lot of participants, there were surely more than 100.

Then he showed us one of the tests, and it looked like a construction brick. Then he keeps talking about the practical part of the exam.

The tests are over there behind individual defensive formations for each one, that you will have to break to take them, all of you will have 30 minutes to try to break the formation.

If you succeed, you will have 15 minutes' time to run and prepare a defensive formation or a hiding formation to protect you while you answer the test from other participants. Once you are found with the test, everybody will have 30 minutes again to try to break your formation. Once it's broken, they will get your test, and have 15 minutes to run again.

Now, since I have finished describing how we will test, you must remember this information.

1. It is forbidden to fight.

2 You can only use formations to defend or hide and break formations

3 We only consider who delivers the test as success, not who answers it.

4. Make sure you deliver the test with correct answers.

5. also the test is fragile.

Surely this wasn't what Dong expected. But while everybody runs to try to get their tests and take their turns, Dong and others smart disciples look for a place to fortify with formations, so he will have a nest to hide when he obtains one test tsk, 15 minutes is not enough time to prepare a good formation.

Pretty sure you meant PAGODA there...

But I love the imagine of Hanyi spending a month inside one of these made out of fish.

Gathering qi is a manual task right, I'm assuming I have to dedicate an action to it, I can't remember if I've asked this before.

[X] Cheng Nan
-[] Tournament Judge: I only need like... a couple more months to break through. Not really planning on joining the tournament, so I need to kill time. There is no better place to spend idle time than judging others. Will be fun to see all the techniques and such with rainbow eyes. Hope I see a lot of good work from my fellow Red Dew disciples. Probably good for me to get away from my usual tasks anyways...
-[X] Escort Shufen: New plan. Judging people is boring. I finally crawled out of my hut to wander among the sect, and apparently Brother War has returned from his long trip. Not only that, but the gossips of the sect have informed me he has found love! How wonderful! So I shall take it upon myself to take the task he has put out to escort this... Lady Shufen... and discover her intentions towards Brother War. Maybe also offer some cosmetic fleshsculpting for free as well. I need to get word out about that as the tournament starts to get into swing... since... I'm completely out of money...

Turn 15: Sea of Dreams
Dream Log (Property of Cheng Nan)(Not a diary. Don't look if not Cheng Nan. Lest your bones be ground into dust and made into a cake.)

It seems the sea of blood has evolved. Last night, I found myself not just above it but submerged within its depths. The sensation of the thick, dark liquid engulfing me was both suffocating and strangely comforting. As I descended, the bone structures became clearer, their true enormity revealed in the murky gloom. These spires of jagged bone are not just random formations—they form a labyrinth, an intricate network of tunnels and chambers beneath the surface.

In the heart of this labyrinth, I encountered a colossal ribcage, arched and cavernous, as if belonging to a creature of unimaginable size. The bones were etched with runes that pulsed with a faint, ominous light. I felt drawn to these runes, their patterns hypnotic and almost familiar. When I touched them, a surge of energy coursed through me, and for a brief moment, I understood their meaning—something about power, sacrifice, and an ancient pact.

As I explored further, I saw figures moving within the labyrinth. Shadowy, indistinct shapes that seemed to watch me from the corners of my vision. They whispered in a language I couldn't understand, yet their tone was unmistakably urgent, almost pleading. I tried to approach them, but they always slipped away, dissolving into the blood before I could reach them.

At the center of the ribcage, I found an altar made of bone and sinew, covered in fresh blood that shimmered like liquid rubies. On the altar lay a heart, still beating, connected to the structure by veins and arteries that pulsed rhythmically. The sight of it filled me with a mixture of dread and awe. I felt an almost irresistible urge to place my hand on the heart, to merge with it somehow, but before I could, the dream ended abruptly, and I awoke with a start.

No conclusions here. Might buy one of those labyrinth toys with the little bead in them. Those are fun. I hear one of the founders of the book club has returned from a task that took him to all sorts of places. Perhaps he was kind enough to get us souvenirs. Oh! Actual news. The drunk sage (surely he has a name?) has managed to seduce some manner of awakened beast from the lake. That is, unless I misunderstood. I will admit, even manually burning the alcohol out of my system, it was a little hard to understand his words.

[X] Wuyin
-[X] Action: Wuyin will hold her nose at the idea of being on the same mission as the Pony Posse, and take up the Barony Qi Survey mission! She will also sell her 2 Spirit Beast Corpses for 4 Spirit stones, then spend 600 spirit stones to acquire a Solar Qi Tool. She will then approach some of the other disciples who attended Elder Nianzu's lecture on the Balance of Heaven and Earth, and ask if they are willing to work with her on the mission in exchange for Wuyin providing a source of Lunar Qi (via Tien), and a source of Solar Qi (via her new artifact), with other disciples and Wuyin providing Qi for the base 5 Elements to activate the Balance of Heaven and Earth to help succeed at the mission.

Turn 15: A Map of the Past
A Map of the Past

Wuyin stared at her old maps. They were... never really intended to be anything but temporary. Something to allow her to share what the Giant Hand had told her with the other disciples somewhere that they wouldn't have to dig through thousands of dusty and sometimes hungry scrolls to find. That was it.

Honestly she'd half been hoping for something far more official, and aesthetically pleasing, would emerge. She'd heard rumors from the hand that Elder Mei had been working on such a map, but here we were.

It's kinda funny, how a map wound up making such a difference. Comparing where she had been when she first scribbled this map to where she was now, it felt like a lifetime ago, even it had been only around a year or so. I imagine it must feel the same for any who might be reading these thoughts of mine.

Well, assuming anyone bothers to read these. If you're hoping for more advice or tidbits, then feel free to scroll away, because there's no such things here.

Just the idle thoughts of a girl who isn't quite all there.

Regardless, it seemed she would need to hold her nose for the next mission.

Ugh.

The Ponies, for she will never call them by their ridiculous name that they insist upon using despite having been offered a far better alternative, weren't all together for this mission thankfully.

It was just the Lonely Luck Boy on this one. Really, can't he see that his misfortunes are entirely of his own design? Truly, the one holding his strings has it out for him if he insists on following this path of his.

Fortune is always fickle, but that's no good reason to start complaining about it. Most people aren't nearly so lucky.

And he does know that he specifically requested that he never get a girl?

Pff. What a jokester. Except it's not very funny.

Well, regardless, hopefully things would go well. The Balance of Heaven and Earth is a powerful technique, and Wuyin is almost certainly only touching the tip of the iceberg in regards to it's potential.

She has many ideas for it's uses. She'll just have to see how they bear fruit.

For now, it seem she would return to map making, in a somewhat professional degree even.

Not alone this time.

(P.S Path of Change Insights Please Giant Hand!)

Oh - @Arcanestomper , can we request what type of enlightenment we want, still?

If you haven't already.

Gathering qi is a manual task right, I'm assuming I have to dedicate an action to it, I can't remember if I've asked this before.

You get 1 qi passively every turn. You can meditate to gain your stripes worth of qi in addition to that.

Turn 15: Daiki's Tournament Meditation
[X] Daiki Inoue
-[X] Action: Meditate

In the tranquil confines of his personal chamber, Daiki Inoue sat cross-legged on a simple mat, his long copper hair loosely laying on his face. His gaunt features were relaxed, and his warm orange eyes were closed in deep concentration. The air around him seemed to hum with the faint glow of spiritual energy, a testament to his focused meditation. Outside, the rest of the Sect was abuzz with activity, preparing for the upcoming disciple tournaments.

Daiki's mind was a filled with insights and realizations gathered from his recent studies and adventures. He sought to weave these fragments of knowledge into a cohesive understanding, a new enlightenment that would propel him further along his path. His breathing was slow and measured, each inhalation drawing in the essence of the Dao, each exhalation releasing distractions and doubts.

In the courtyard below, disciples were engaged in rigorous training, their shouts and the clashing of weapons a constant backdrop to Daiki's meditation. Inner disciples and even an occasional elder moved among them, offering guidance and corrections, ensuring that each disciple was prepared for the challenges of the tournament. The energy in the air was palpable, a mix of excitement, determination, and a hint of nervousness.

Despite the noise, Daiki's focus remained unbroken. He visualized the flow of Qi within his body, guiding it through the meridians with practiced precision. His recent experiences in the mortal market, the teachings of Elder Cheng, and the mysteries of the abandoned ruins all coalesced in his mind, forming a tapestry of understanding. He was close to a breakthrough, the cusp of a new enlightenment that would enhance his cultivation.

A sudden burst of laughter from the courtyard momentarily pierced his concentration. Daiki's eyes fluttered open briefly, catching a glimpse of a group of disciples celebrating a successful sparring match. He allowed himself a small melancholic smile, briefly appreciating their camaraderie before closing his eyes once more and diving back into his meditation.

Nearby, the Sect's artisans were busy crafting banners and decorations for the tournament. The vibrant colors and intricate designs added a festive air to the grounds, a stark contrast to Daiki's bland austere surroundings. The scent of fresh ink and the sound of brushes on fabric mingled with the rhythmic thud of practice dummies being struck.

Daiki's mind drifted deeper into his inner mind. He recalled Elder Cheng's words about the nature of elemental spirits, the balance of good and evil, and the delicate harmony of Qi flows. These lessons intertwined with his own scholarly learnings, creating a new framework of understanding. He felt a subtle shift within his spirit, a sign that he was on the verge of a significant breakthrough.

In the background, the Sect's cooks were preparing a grand feast for the tournament participants. The enticing aroma of spices and roasted meats wafted through the air, mingling with the sounds of bubbling pots and sizzling pans. Daiki's stomach grumbled slightly, but he ignored it, focusing instead on the spiritual nourishment he sought through his meditation.

As the preparations for the disciple tournaments continued in earnest, Daiki's meditation reached its peak. His body was surrounded by a soft, radiant glow as his Qi flowed smoothly and powerfully through his meridians. The insights he had gathered crystallized into a profound enlightenment, a deeper understanding of the Dao that would guide him on his path.

With a final deep breath, Daiki opened his eyes, his warm orange gaze now sharper and more focused than before. He felt a sense of calm and clarity, his spirit invigorated by the new enlightenment he had achieved. Rising from his mat, he glanced out the window at the bustling Sect below, feeling a sense of unity with his fellow disciples.

While they prepared for the physical challenges of the tournament, Daiki had faced his own internal trials and emerged stronger. With renewed determination, he stepped out of his chamber, ready to support his peers and continue his journey of cultivation and discovery.
