Deedeequest or The Wonders of Mundus: Be Careful Who You Pretend To Be - A Genderous Isekai Quest

How Dice Rolls Work
Character sheet is here.

Dice rolls are 1d10 + Stat + Proficiency + any applicable bonuses, such as Boons.

You may spend 3 Tension to Overdrive for a retroactive +5 to your roll (a Determination Overdrive), or +3 to an ally's roll (a Teamwork Overdrive). I will also automatically overdrive to avoid exhaustion or unconsciousness.

It is possible to critically succeed (on +5 on skill checks and +10 on combat rolls) or critically fail (by the same margins), but rolling a 1 or a 10 does not automatically crit in either case. It is possible to crit retroactively by Overdriving.

Your stat bonuses have names:
  • Vigor grants a Strength bonus.
  • Agility grants a Dexterity bonus.
  • Spirit grants an Aura bonus.
  • Mind grants an Intuition bonus.
  • Resolve grants a Guts bonus.
Dice are rolled on a first come, first serve bonus. You only roll for Deedee.

[X] Take a Short Rest, tending to Hikaru's wounds. - You won't gain any stamina and this is going to be awkward and tense, but Hikaru will heal very quickly. Also, maybe you want sexual tension with him

Hopefully we can avoid getting bad tensions with the potato, but other than that this is our probable best option

And here's the actual vote!

[X] Set up camp for the night, and give Sekhmet directions to it. - The safest choice, for everyone but Sekhmet, who is your roommate IRL. She might be able to avoid combat with her skills and be fine, but she might not.

everybody is still really spread out and unsure of what's going on, so I'm thinking a base camp will be a good thing to have even on top of it enabling leveling. We have Alesha, so hopefully once we get Sekh on the line it won't be to difficult navigating to the camp.

New to questing but wanted to make an account as I've been really enjoying reading along so far!
I think we should prioritize the health, safety, and combat-effectiveness of our party and having the mage in critical condition will do us more harm than good -- might as well test these healing powers out and give us a better shot at finding Sekhmet ASAP.
I also have a few questions about AWO, which I assume we are familiar with as longtime players: I've gotten the impression that appearing at the Shores of Awakening at level 1 with starting gear and no party is a bad and dangerous situation to be in, but this has also been described as a starter area. Is this ordinary for the new player experience of AWO to be in danger of dying to the mobs here, or perhaps in being Isekai'd we've missed an important tutorial/onboarding quest to get us up to snuff or to a safe area? I understand being actually in the game is likely to reframe the danger of even ordinary beginner encounters, so everyone's reactions so far are definitely warranted, I just am curious if this matches up with Deedee's prior knowledge of what being at level 1 is like!

I got the impression that DD's panic was mostly from being Isekei'd at all. Her narration also mentioned that Ace pulled an unusual amount of aggro, and from GM comments Ace's subclass needs a good party and some skill to avoid being a meme build that constantly gets you killed.

Meanwhile, of course, the potato caster is squishy and must be protected, which is normal.

An unprecedented event

Thanks, it's actually my first time as QM, too.

While most of the panic is at just being isekai'd, there are some onboarding scenes that usually happen the first time you play as a particular avatar - including, crucially, the one that sets your respawn point (Not that DD is conscious of this in particular) and the ones that tell you where to go and what to do. Presumably this is broken because it's not their first rodeo...

The mobs here aren't normally that dangerous, especially to experienced players, but new players - especially ones with fragile classes and builds like Berzerker or Wizard - might well aggro more than they can tank, and end up tanking floor. No one has any idea how fatal this is now and must assume "totally."

Also, pain hurts now and there are new realistic gore fx.

Also also, getting rolled back to Lv 1 with starter gear is unprecedented.

ETA: also, as an aside: I'm using tabletop Valor levels for mechanical clarity. For every level after the first, assume that it's actually 4 times that to get the diegetic AWO level: 2nd level in tt is actually 8th level in the video game, etc.

Unless something changes we have a clear winner.

3:00 tomorrow, folks.

[X] Take a Short Rest, tending to Hikaru's wounds. - You won't gain any stamina and this is going to be awkward and tense, but Hikaru will heal very quickly. Also, maybe you want sexual tension with him.

Vote will end at 9:00 if there are no other votes before then
With less than a day to go and a clear landslide, I'm tempted to call the vote - but I'll wait until 9:00 Pacific to do it. If there's no more voting to be had before that time, I'll post the necessary dice rolls for folks to make.

Update will be tomorrow around 4:00-5:00 PST regardless.

We're a healer! Healing is incredibly important in MMOs, and it actually is our job. I'm sure Hikaru can be professional about it long enough to get out of trouble.

The only other vote so far is for the thing that was winning. Incredible.

Okay, it's clear what won. Lets not drag this out.

I need the following rolls:

Aura 5 + Rapport 1 + Sylphan's Boon 3, TN 7 - 12, SUCCESS
Aura 5 + Empathy 0, TN 9 - 14, SUCCESS

Intuition 2 + Medicine 1, TN 7 - 4, FAILURE
Guts 1 + Composure 0, TN 7 - 11, SUCCESS
Aura 5 + Rapport 1 + Sylphan's Boon 3, TN 7 +the margin of failure on the composure roll (0) = 7 - 17, CRITICAL SUCCESS

I am also open to any questions about the setting, though I reserve the right not to answer or to answer in character in the updates.

Update tomorrow between 4-5. I will try to maintain a Tu-Th-Sa posting schedule.
