Covered In Blood And Surrounded By Spirits (Hellsing CK2 Organization Quest)

@The LD Man, I have a question:

Did Renko happen to go to a Girl School for her education? Because the classic setting is quite possibly the only element this love story lacks.
I would have added Catholic school, but that doesn't seem very likely given Renko's everything

And it's all the die's fault! I mean, why don't my dice support my shipping like that!?
As with all things, I rolled for this.

Yes, Renko went to an all girls school.

i'll try to do my best to explore it should Shizukana win
why would you do this? this really doesn't sound in any way fun.
regardless of what IRL japan is about the issue, this is magic fantasy japan and we are marrying a literally goddess who is favored by a bunch of other gods; as far as I am concerned we can gloss right over this and "historical accuracy" can go die in a ditch.

Well, I am reasonably certain the Nagare River doesn't run straight.
are there any hetr straight rivers?

Important Question: Can we make Renko immortal without going full monster? I just don't see this relationship working out otherwise.
Sadly, Girl's Love has its roots in Shoujo Tragedies.

While the practice of having the main character outlive her partner and forever carry a heavy burden in her heart has been dismissed in recent years, the genre as a whole still carries the scars to this day.

there is no reason why being mortal will prevent the relationship from working.
it would hurt the kami when her mortal love passes away from old age, but she will get over it after grieving for a few years... or she won't, either way the relationship worked.

Also, immortality is not the only solution, there is also afterlife to take into account. Reincarnating repeatedly as someone's fated lover is an ancient trope that is commonly used in japanese mythology.

Reports of a heterosexual female protagonist were quickly dismissed tonight, as it became clear that she was instead merely in the denial stage of girls love.

It really does write itself, though.
there is actually one in the warmachine CK2 quest. we are basically playing an orc expy female warlock chieftain who is trying to reform her people from techless nomadic raiders into a modern civ (and of course in the process conquer all of them). She is actually straight and went for the most "dreamy" (read, battle scarred older warrior) male

Die of old age? In our line of work?

Blimey, you don't set your ambitions low, do you?
... point. i don't know what i was even thinking

Speaking of, I just recalled that we already know of a way to acquire "immortality"... vampirism.
Also, since buddhism is a thing, a priest could self enshrine to ascend into divinity (through starving self to death) but as a shinto that path is probably not for us

vampirism is a shitty form of immortality. Let's not try for that one.

Straight female protagonists aren't actually as rare as people make them out to be. Like I said earlier (and as you showed here), Female Dynasty Quest Protagonists are often straight because lesbians tend to end said Dynasty rather quickly.

Now, if you really want to find a mythological creature that probably doesn't exist outside of legends, it would be the homosexual male protagonist. Alas, I have searched far and wide and yet to find this elusive being.

So about my question regarding Kami leaving Japan and the effect it has on them? Also if the Kami option wins would Renko still be the on bearing the inevitable child?
Renko would bear the child, yes. And as for Kami leaving... I'll put it this way. The body that you all see and talk to is basically an avatar, which she inhabits. From her avatar, Shizukana can impact things in her "domain" so long as she's in Japan. Once she leaves Japan in the avatar, that connection is cut. The problem arises when youkai can tell she isn't inhabiting it, and move to corrupt it. So while you can set guards and the like, it's difficult for a kami to willingly leave knowing she's at risk.

Something to look into.

just because they get into a political marriage doesn't mean they are straight. Anyways, CK2 are specifically ones where the focus is on dynasty building and nation building and we always marry off our MC to start popping out children early on because of the mechanical benefits of it and being a fundamental aspect of the setting. So I don't think its fair to count them compared to quests that are free of that baggage

How does that work, anyway? If you're half-human, half-river... Are you a tributary or something? And the grandkids are puddles? Or do we need to look it up to find out, since intense theological research is a key component of this relationship?

Come to think of it, do rivers even have DNA?

Or will 50% of the Chromosomes in our children be made entirely out of ectoplasm?

Clever choice making Renko the Mother, given that Nagare would then be responsible for the main gender deciding part. Otherwise, I would probably cry foul if we got a boy.
