Yes. They are are afraid of you because they know of you only as the Northern Demons who beat up the Forluc to the point that their entire kingdom collapsed and are the sole producers of metal tools and weapons.

I don't see any reason to totally stop expansion from our colonies yet. Frankly grabbing the rest of the Coltyre seems like a good idea to me so we can control the passage to the boar folk and fortify it. The Grthwyd can keep take the rest of the forest no problem without any unneeded problems but the north east is worrying since it is so close to the boar folk and can stop unless we can find a way to set up some kind of boundary with them.

Clearly we need to send some people, maybe missionaries, to meet them. That way they can fear and love us!

I think that the Palace is technically more important than the Great Marketplace for keeping what good we have going. The Great Market finishes a faction quest and further ties the region together, but the next big challenge we'll face is managing our huge empire under a centralised government, which the Palace can help with. Unfortunately, that kind of exacerbates the problem of our people thinking that they can handle unlimited growth, and it's better for them to suffer from overextension earlier than later.

So, ultimately, I'm voting for the Great Marketplace, and other people should too. The faction quest we got for it is a legitimately good one with a +1 permanent Wealth gain, which will last until our civilisation drops. If we build the Great Marketplace in Caermyr, it will be great for increasing trade between the civilisations. Peace will last longer, our culture will spread faster, and technological growth will speed up thanks to the increased diversity of connected tech developers and strengthened connections. All-around it is a very good deal and worth putting up with a golden age for an extra turn.

EDIT: We may also be able to end the golden age during the main turn. The Great Market will likely take Diplo and Wealth to build while the Theatre takes Culture and Mystic to make. If we do the right actions we can end up with all temp stats equal or below the permanent stats.

So you want to delay our theater megaproject later for marketplace? We need the culture generated by theater to start building our temples and libraries.

No, I'm saying do both on the same turn. It'll knock us out of the GA from stat costs while also getting two megaprojects done on the same turn.
