Also, if the Mystic Hero is still alive next turn, I suggest building another Shrine or venerating Arthryn. (Maybe both?) There's some good synergy there.

[x] To properly worship Arthryn, there needs to be a grander shrine. Every village will need a shrine, but just as the main council of elders is in Greenbay, there needs to be a main shrine in Greenbay.
Will probably consume econ and produce mystic. We have econ 8 and magic will help us defence-wise, so I like this option.
Cats is the do-nothing option, essentially wastes the action.
Creating a priestly caste makes our religion less egalitarian for no apparent benefit. Also creates risk of corruption.
We already have an issue with being unable to learn martial techs from lowlanders; lowlander taboo will make it worse. Remember, we're not in any danger of picking up their worse values.

We already strongly disapprove of lowlander and forester practices, this will just make it harder to adopt their good values, like their martial techs.

Not just that; hello eugenics! We must remove from our gene pool anything other than the Arthyn-blessed elements for the good of the future, is how the thinking will eventually go. And you just know things like how the non-blessed can sill be competent and useful will be eventually ignored. Not a problem for a good long while, but a few millennia later...
All the options should have a major benefit, none of them should be a waste of action. We do not know what the actual benefits /disadvantages are, but we can theorise.

Cats likely are magic, with a blessing on cats just as the results of last Arthyn vote gave us a blessing on the People. Based on the wording of the vote "but were sent by the goddess Arthryn to aid the People." the cat-blessing is likely to benefit the People somehow. Based on the previous mention of cats "telling her of how the cats came to the People of their own accord in generations past, preying on vermin that plague the People." I think the blessing is likely to give cats the ability to magically protect against vermin or plague.

Priests should not create a risk of corruption, it might, but it should not. The priests will be speaking to the goddess and she should be able to identify and punish priests committing heresy. As per the civ sheet "the words of the goddess, loyalty and kindness to one's people is of the highest importance", corrupt priests would be defying the words of the goddess.
Also I think it is likely that the priests will be a career, not a caste. Especially since the Mystic Hero establishing the priesthood is a second generation immigrant to the People. A much bigger risk is it may be limited to women. With priests being a possible career (like farming or hunting) it will be egalitarian, admittedly that may change if we lose the Born Equal value. Per the vote description "ensuring that her will is known to the People and is followed while also making sure that the concerns of the People are brought before the goddess" I believe the resulting priests will be able to have conversations with Arthyn (and maybe other goddesses/gods).

What is making us "unable to learn martial techs from lowlanders"? I thought that we are able to learn martial techs from lowlanders, but just have not interacted with them enough, I may be wrong.
Why are we "not in any danger of picking up their worse values"? If we interact with them (via war, or trade, etc) then we could pick up their values. Our value is Born Equal, not Always Equal. Warrior's Rewards (or whatever value they have that lets warriors rape women after feasts) is not necessarily incompatible with Born Equal(the choices of a person and the world around them can make a person greater or lesser,) warriors could be seen as greater. We would probably not pick up anything contradicting our values, but could still pick up traits we don't want to.
"the People must never practice the evils that they discovered in the lowlands" seems like a law to me, suggesting that the result of the vote could be a start on having a legal code.

Eugenics is not a possible result of Arthyn's blessing on the People, nor is that an example of stratification. The non-blessed are newly immigrated People, their descendants will have the blessing. Rejecting the non-blessed will result in rejecting immigration/outsiders not eugenics or stratification. I like the People's willingness to accept anyone who wishes to join the People and will vote against changing that.

We have 8 temp econ right now. I'm thinking shrine and venerate; would drop us to 5 econ, but that's fine. The number in the brackets is temp.

Why would the People adopt the barbaric practices of the Foresters and Lowlanders? Haven't you heard of all the evil they have caused?

I don't think I called eugenics stratification. Anyways, I'm not saying to reject the non-blessed; I disapprove of doing so. I'm thinking that with certain people more capable of doing certain things due to their ancestry, Born Equal and related values might experience pushback later on, in the far future, not from questers but from the people themselves. You may end up with eugenics becoming a spreading idea in the far future, because of certain ancestry making you more capable actually being true. There's nothing we can do about it right now.

You've given me something to think on with this; if Arthryn can identify corruption, a hierarchical priesthood could be a good idea.
Just baseless speculation, but we might even be able to put them in charge and become a theocracy where the goddess removes incompetents from power.

Thank you.
I have no idea how I missed that, I read the line above (we only have hunters) and the one below (no concept of walls).

Agreed. While the Mystic Hero is still alive , it is a very good time to Build New Shrine and Venerate Arthryn.
I half want to do a MAIN Venerate, "Improved Chance of ???" . Under Ymarn's leadership the chance (and results) should be much better.

You have two temp econ right now which will regenerate halfway to your Econ (currently 8) at the start of the next turn (the next update).
Sorry, I'm an idiot, I thought the number in the brackets is permanent. Is there anywhere I can find a rules explanation for this kind of quest, to avoid such mistakes in the future?
1 econ after venerate + shrine next turn is still safe; I think we should pounce on the chance when we have mystic hero.

[X] To properly worship Arthryn, there needs to be a group of the People who devote their lives to her service and acting as intermediaries between her and the People, ensuring that her will is known to the People and is followed while also making sure that the concerns of the People are brought before the goddess.

All hail the holy kitties!
After our mystic hero has died, I'm thinking keep doing sec settlements while at the same time doing hunting to maintain our martial.
This way we can grow our econ, and thus increase the econ refresh. In other words, it will allow us to get more stuff done in the future without having to spend turns in between doing temp econ-generating actions.
We could also grow our econ by doing main farming. It comes down to whether settling areas/growing population or the chance of farming tech improvements is preferred.
Our refresh is 4, enough to continuously do either path without ever dropping below temp econ 1.

Little did op know that all the players were psychotic cat lovers. Giving us kittens as an option was a decision of incomprehensible importance.

Like there was any other choice I mean cmon.

Can't wait for our magical cats to start bapping away ghosts and deamons and such.

This is the part where I inform people that the next update isn't cat themed and is more focused on practical matters.
