Well obviously they would, you seek to overthrow the rightful Cadlon at the whims of a foreign Goddess!
No, I'd be seeking to aid the people in emplacing a system akin to an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We'd take it in turns to act as sort of executive officer for the week but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs but by a two thirds majority in the case of external or more contested and complex matters deriving supreme executive power from the mandate of the masses rather than some farcical divine ceremony.

Nice... I am ok with this. With a Divine Bloodline the Royal Family should be significantly more competent than the average and, thanks to being more closely linked to the gods, should be more heavily influenced by them and thus the pantheon should be able to reinforce our Values into their minds.

That combined with Communal Mandate and Sacred Defense will make them far more concerned with the actual running of our nation than a normal person would be. The biggest down side to a hereditary monarchy is that they tend to get to the point of being so secure in their position that they simply stop caring about how well their people and nation are doing. This should be pretty much avoided whole sale thanks to easily influenced Royals by gods that value the community and Civ above all.

There is also the fact that we retained Born Equal. That I'm thankful for sense that was my biggest worry in gaining a hereditary monarchy.

Now all I need to do is wait for all of the " Argh! Monarchy's are Evil and Shit! Raaaagh!" to stop.

Every monarchy must fade, every kingdom return to darkness!

You do realise you are still in the stone age/entering the copper age right? Your suggestions are impossible to implement.

Also the deities are real because it is a fantasy setting.

I'm not sure if you are just joking or being serious here

I think this is actually effectively the only time period until well into an information age where this is viable to implement in all honesty as things have yet to scale up beyond accountability and we can actually hold complete referendums in a timely manner dispite our primitive infrastructure but I digress.

I am 70% joking and am just starting to read the thread beginning down. I would probably be with the anti monarchycrowd in general though something arguing that if said divine mandate was of any worth then those who would have been monarchs would derive with ease and regularity mandate of the masses so as to make the permanence naught but a shield against accountability but I again digress and will have to read through the htread proper to be as well informed as I ought to to be able to make proper and meaningful contrbution to discussion.

Well, anarcho-communist is arguably tribal humanities natural state of governance.
However the large scale infrastructure to support the inefficient metalworking this age means that we were always going to lose it in favour of a system better able to support dedicated populations of specialists.
Well unless we tried to deliberately stay in the Stone age indefinitely or just get everything from trade and managed to deflect every possible invasion with diplomacy. But thats kinda Nightmare Mode ++ for this game
Oh well just eleven thousand odd years until it becomes a viable strat again.

I think I get HOW it works. Everyone is Born Equal, but those who are Divine by virtue of the Goddess's Mandate/Approval are to be Cadlon, or as we might know them, King.
THIS IS THE KIND OF FUNTIMES WHICH IS WHY I DON'T WANT TO JUDGE USING OTL AS A PRIMARY SOURCE!

More that everyone is Born Equal, but the Royal Family is inherently better due to having divinity in their blood and therefore they are the rulers of the People.

I can't help but imagine that through all this Arthryn is patiently going: "Honey no, just because you are born naturally stronger and faster than everyone else doesn't mean you are born 'better'. That's a barbarian way of thought."

Clearly the best way to keep Born Equal is to arrange giant orgies so that Blood of Evalyn eventually dissemminates into the entire population.

EDIT: In fact, let's make it a Megaproject!

Okay, I know you were joking but yes. This is a good idea.
