I don't think there are words right now. There's a reason I only posted a reaction picture, and I honestly don't think anything I could say would actually be considered in a meaningful way either.

Some of us don't get the reference behind the reaction picture and it isn't generic enough to just immediately convey an emotion.

The pic isn't a reference, but it's from a photo set experiment where a haunted house had cameras set up at scare points if you wanna know lol. And not enough to immediately convey an emotion? I'm going to have to disagree there even without where it comes from.

Well for one, they're all twelve and then sixteen. The brain is not finished development until you are 25 no matter how smart you are. Poverty and neglect/abuse/trauma have undeniable affects on cognitive ability. Even without fanon and fanfic infringement on how someone sees a character, these things are fully able to explain the reasonings behind how the characters behave. Although Kishimoto isnt the best writer, especially with romance and female characters. He even says this outright. But tbh I think he gets a little too much flack sometimes and for the wrong reasons. It's obvious he tries and could have been far worse. Most of the issues aren't exactly going to be an issue here either.

But calling a twelve year old attention starved orphan child an attention whore? I don't see the point of engaging with someone who 'boils' things down until all that remains is flanderized shit, and then acts like it's the same as trying talking about a character when applying the real world, or subtext commentary by the author. Not that there was ever any subtext though.

Yes, he was an attention whore. It was a flaw made to sympathize with him, and a good one considering how starved for attention he was. But, he is an attention whore. Does he have good reason to be? Yes. But like Goku from DBZ being a dumbass, just because they have a reason, doesn't change facts. He is an attention whore. It is a part of his character. As much as being starved for attention is.

Most of the apparently strong female characters totally jobing, basically just being used to show off how strong a male character is. Compare and contrast just how many fights Tsunade and Sakura actually won to their male teammates. It's become common as hell to see Sakura called useless or blow up fairly insignificant details into being the reason why she isn't as good as Naruto or Sasuke.

Basically a problem most shounen series have, because again, Japanese cultural/societal issues.

If anyone want to read an old but good analysis of Sasuke's character in particular: Essay on Naruto Chapter 484: Sasuke's Psyche and Naruto's Resolve this is bretty good.

But seriously, this thread was nice and chill and a good read and shaping up to be nice... and then DarkKing posted. Seriously Dark, you are the only one saying any of this. If everyone says the sky is blue, but you say it's green, who do you think is wrong?

Homer Simpson is a wife-beating child-abusing psychopath. He is also too mentally incompetent to stand trial and should not be given any sort of job.
Lisa Simpson is at the very least an attempted murderer.
Tsundere are all criminals
Superheroes all have messiah complexes, narcissism and probably sociopathy
Ranma's harem should all be locked away for life
Team Rocket from Pokemon should have died long ago and Ash is guilty of a few hundred counts of Attempted Murder
Nearly every Naruto character has committed warcrimes

You can't just ignore the fact that comic relief is a thing. Neither can you ignore genre conventions, societal conventions of the setting (historical or fantastical) or exaggerations/understating things for the theme of the story to shine through.

I tried to find some, but other than a cool Sakura I didn't find much on danbooru or safebooru. I'll try some other sites.
