Catching Victory (A Pokemon Quest)

Crossroads
"Philosoraptor" You think. She's (hopefully) going to evolve into a Staraptor one day and you having a nickname playing off of that.

Still, your pokemon, to put it charitably, are messed up. Neptune can keep fighting but Wurmple and Philosoraptor are in pretty bad shape. You decide it's best to head back to Zanzivar and heal up before moving on.

When you enter the Pokemon Center, it's a lot less crowded. There are a few people sitting at one of the glass tables listening to a radio along with a maintenance guy taking the broken TV out of the pokemon center. This time, there isn't a line so you can go right up to the desk.

"Hello, and welcome to the Pokemon Center." Nurse Joy says a little more cheerfully. "We can restore you tired pokem... wait..." She leans in and looks at you, rubbing her chin. "Have I seen you earlie- no never mind." She shakes her head. "Anyway, would you like to rest your pokemon?"

You say "Yes" and hand over the pokemon. You spend the time talking to the group near one of the tables. Apparently the siege in Nyasa is still ongoing. Mom is keeping the Team Olympus grunts from leaving through the escape route while the Vesryn Military was keeping them from taking the southern way out.

After a few minutes, your pokemon are healed. Saying goodbye to the people in the Pokemon Center, you head back to Route 301.

After walking for a while, you check your pokegear to see that it's 4:30. You note that the sun is going to set soon but since you have your flashlight, you should still be able to get around. Eventually, you come up to a fork in the road leading south and west, along with a sign with several arrows indicating directions on it. If you head further south, you should get to Superior City. If you head west, you would hit Naragex Forest. There really isn't much there for you but it may be a good place to look for some more pokemon. Of course, you could just keep searching for pokemon here.

[] Keep searching for pokemon.
[] Head through Naragex Forest.
[] Keep Going to Superior City

Hahahaha yes! We have best raptor now.

[X] Head through Naragex Forest.

Poison injuries may be annoying, but might as well give our 'mon some practice.

So, I haven't played the game this is based off, but based on the wiki, the first Gym is a fighting one, so we may want to power level Philosoraptor to at least level nine, so it can learn a flying attack. The wiki also says that there is a person willing to trade a Munchlax for a Beedrill in Superior City. I'm not sure if the GM is following everything exactly, but it may be worth it to catch a Beedrill here just in case.

I do want that Munchlax.

Snorlax's are pretty darn awesome, and it would be nice to get a second pokemon that we know we are going to keep in our group.

I tend to pay more attention to leveling the permanent Pokemon then I do those that are probably going to be leaving my group at some point.

When I played the games, I never did the "catch em all" thing. I usually caught less than 15 Pokemon total, maybe more than that if I wanted the Legendaries of that particularly game. I'm actually doing a run through of Fire-Red right now on an emulator, and I just caught my 6th Pokemon, and I'm already on the 5th Gym. I don't really understand why people voted to catch the Wurmple when we are not going to use it later on.

I let y'all choose, since I'm way too picky. Among the first 40-50 'mon on the initial routes, I'm only interested in Butterfree or Shroomish (basically a status-move user), Riolu, Gastly, and Abra. But I might be happy with a Munchlax, just 'cause they look so huggable.

From my wiki trawl, we are going to need to teach a Pokemon strength to get on the next route, so Munchlax may be useful. Are there any HM slaves around here?

For anyone wanting to get a Beedrill.

There's about a 1% chance to find it so if you're planning on looking for it specifically, you're going to be looking for a while.

It's around five o clock. The sun is setting, painting the sky a bright red. Your trek through the Naragex Forest is uneventful so far. The only sounds to be heard are your own footsteps and the sounds of the wild pokemon throughout the forest. You keep walking until you feel your foot kick against something. Looking down, you see a pokeball. Apparently, someone dropped it when they were passing through. Picking it up, you examine it.

It looks like it hasn't been used yet. Smiling, you put it in your backpack.

"C'mon, the shrine isn't that far Janene, "

"We're wasting our time. I highly doubt that we're going to find a Celebi there."

You pause for a moment. Ahead, you see two girls talking to each other. One of them, probably Janene, is sitting by the base of a tree, the other is standing in front of her. Both are wearing camping gear.

"C'mon, if we find the shrine, we could get our own legendary pokemon. A time traveling legendary pokemon! How cool is that?" The first girl said excitedly.

"But Celebi is in Johto, Nicole" Janene explained.

"Well, we could at least check it out. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?" Nicole said.

Janene shrugged. "You can look into it if you want. As for me, I'm going to keep looking for Bedrill. Heard someone back in town is trading for one."

You see that both girls have several pokeballs on their belts. You consider challanging one to a pokemon battle, though you could keep looking for pokemon or head on to Superior. Still, that shrine may be worth checking out...

[] Look for any wild pokemon.
[] Look for a Bedrill.
[] Challenge one them to a pokemon battle.
-[] Challenge Janene
-[] Challenge Nicole
-[] Challenge Both (Double Battle)
[] Check out the shrine.
[] Write In

OBTAINED: Pokeball x1

[X] Challenge one them to a pokemon battle.
--[X] Challenge Janene

Sure, why not?

Battline Janene
You walk closer to the pair and challange Janene to a pokemon battle.

"I'm going to keep looking for the shrine. Catch you later Janene" Nicole waves at Janene before taking off to the west.

Janene shrugs. "Later." She says to Nicole before turning to you. "Alright. Let's make this quick. One-on-one?"

[] Agree
[] No (Two-on-two)
[] No (Full Party)

Satisfied with your answer, she takes out one of her pokeballs.

"Let's get this done!" She tosses her pokeball out.

Which pokemon will you send out first?

[] Neptune
[] Wurmple
[] Philosoraptor
