Catching Victory (A Pokemon Quest)

So it looks like the votes are that we heal out pokemon... then go straight to the place where we could heal them for free.

Anyone want to change their vote?
Are you running this quest in two different places? I keep getting confused by how you are tallying the votes. From what I can see, the consensus is to heal our Pokemon with field medic, then there is a tie between head back to the city and catch a Beedrill, with two votes for each.

That's because I'm an idiot. Fortunantly, I've finally gotten the vote tally program to work on my computer.

Now, unless I've messed up more than usual, there's a 3 way tie between going to the shrine, going to Superior, and looking for a Bedrill.

Vote tally:

##### 3.21

I feel dirty for metagaming, but I'll switch my vote to the shrine.

[X] (Field Medic) Use one potion to heal them to 75%.
[X] Check out the shrine.

There's a headbutt tutor (great for Horsea), and Bard will notice the Hypno nearby.

If the vote's still open, I'll change my vote to make the winner more obvious.

[X] (Field Medic) Use one potion to heal them to 75%.
[X] Check out the shrine.

Headbutt
You decide to heal your pokemon. Taking out a potion, you start spraying your pokemon, who seem grateful for healing. Neptune and Philosoraptor start making small talk while you're healing Wurmple, though what they're saying eludes you.

After a little while, you're done. Neither Neptune nor Philosoraptor are up to 100% but they're still in fighting shape. Putting the now empty bottle of potion in your backpack, you start heading for the shrine Nicole mentioned earlier. Even if there isn't a legendary pokemon there you may find something interesting on the way here.

It's starting to get dark. Some of the nocturnal pokemon will start coming out soon. You take out your flashlight, deciding to turn it on when it gets a little darker.

Eventually, you start smelling burning tobacco. You're used to the smell from all of the time spent with your grandfather so ignoring it isn't hard. The smell gets stronger as you get closer to the shrine until you see the source.

A boy who looks a couple of years older than you, is leaning against a tree smoking a cigarette, from the cigarette butts on the ground, it looks like he's been here a while. He looks relaxed until he notices you.

"Akk!" He shrieks, jumping up. You swear he made it a good three or four feet in the air. "My mom will kill me if she knew I was smoking!"

You're about to tell the boy to calm down. That you're aren't going to tell anyone but he interrupts you.

"Please... don't tell anyone I was here! I'll teach one of your pokemon headbutt! Yeah, how about that!"

You consider it. Neptune is the only one who could know headbutt. It's a lot better than Pound. You honestly can't think of a reason why you wouldn't.

[] Sure. (Teach Neptune Headbutt)
[] No.

[X] Sure. (Teach Neptune Headbutt)

This is even a question.

....

Can he teach us Heabutt, is that impossible, or do we already know that?

The Shrine
"Sure" You say. Neptune nods, eager to learn.

"Alright" the smoker says before leaning down to meet Neptune eye to eye. "You see, headbutting is all about giving the other guy a concussion while not giving yourself one..." He continues his explanation everyone else waits and starts eating dinner. Wurmple starts munching on some of the leaves in the trees. Philosoraptor meanwhile flies around the trees, occasionally picking berries or fruit from them. You munch on the cookie you saved from lunch.

Eventually, the smoker is finished his lesson and Neptune is headbutting trees without any sign of getting hurt.

"Alright, we're done. Now remember, I was never here." You assure him that you never saw him and he scurries off to home.

You keep walking towards the shrine. You see Nicole walking back while on your way, looking disappointment. You say hello but she keeps walking, muttering how she expected a legendary pokemon.

Eventually, you get to the shrine. It's fairly old and modest. Once bright red paint had faded and cracked with age. The tiles on the roof were falling off. A small tables with a white cloth covering it had several candles, all of them burnt out long ago. It was just a roof with four pillars supporting it, anything else that could have been there either eroded with time or stolen by either humans or local pokemon.

However, nearby, you see a pokemon unlike most of the others here. Instead of being a grass, bug, or normal, this one is clearly a Hypno. You guess that they're not a native to the area. The pokemon looks up and upon noticing you smiles and waves.

"Hello." You hear a feminine voice in your head. The Hypno must be using telepathy. "How are you doing this evening?"

[] Say hello back and chat.
[] Wave back then leave. There's nothing for you here.
[] Try to catch. You could use a psychic type.
[] Write in.

[X] Say hello back and chat.

Our mother never taught us not to talk to psychic strangers in the middle of the woods.

[X] Say hello back and chat.

Whelp, I have no idea where this will lead. There can only be fun to be had from here... Also, it would be kinda rude to just ignore her.

[X] Say hello back and chat.

We need to find it's kid?

Also never attack evolved Psychics in the woods. Especially not hypnos. They do things to kids. Bannable things.

A Favor
"I'm as fine as I can be, all things considered." You reply. "I had heard that there was a Celibi at the shrine so I came to check it out."

"Most of the visitors I get are usually looking for Celibi" The Hypno 'says'. "I am sorry if I disappointment you."

You assure her that this wasn't the case and you have a chat. Apparently, the Hypno had seen several people in purple uniforms pass through the forest earlier that day though she doesn't know who they are. After a few minutes, you are about to turn around and leave when the Hypno asks you something.

"If you make it to Superior City, I would like to ask a favor of you. My son was having a playdate with another pokemon in the city and he should have been home by now. I'm sure he can handle himself but I'd still like him to come home."

You're sure it wouldn't take up much of your time.

[] Sure. It wouldn't take too long.
[] No. Why isn't she looking for him?

I forget, do we actually need to bring the kid back or do we just need to find him and go "hey, head home kid."

[X] Sure. It wouldn't

Any chance we can leverage our help to get the Hypno to use it's Psychic Powers to find us a beedrill?

I'm sorry for taking so long to write this out.

*Looks at the post again*

...How did I not type part of the post?

Just tell him "Hey kid, go home"

You can get one favor from the Hypno if you do it so you could. However, if you do, you'd need to find another way to get a certain HM.
