You pick up your PokeGear. There was some criminal stuff in the house where you caught Circuit. Drugs, credit card information, and who knows what else. You can't exactly ignore it. Besides, you just need to report it, answer some questions and you'd be out of the city by sundown. You dial the number for Emergency Services.
"911, do you need police, Fire, or Medical?"

After the next several hours, you are questioned about what you saw and when. As well as why you took the time to go to see a Gym Leader before you called the police.
At least, when you withdrew Circuit to show that you did in fact catch him, you had the chance to introduce him to the rest of your team.
And then, they took Rotom away to question him about what he did, didn't do, and what he may have done.
And that brings you to where you are now.
It's around 7 PM. You aren't in trouble, but Circuit has been in interrogation for the past hour. You are approached by a police officer. "You're Bard" You nod. "I need to talk to you about the Rotom, Circuit"
"Why are you holding Circuit?" You ask the officer."He didn't do anything wrong"
"Sorry kid" The officer says. "But we don't know that for sure. He may have been freshly caught and disagreed with his old trainer. If that's the case, we can have him back in your PC by tomorrow." The officer says in his most reassuring voice. "But maybe that's not the case. Maybe they had a disagreement about how much either of them should get. Maybe the trainer was the one who wanted to get out of the game and Rotom disagreed"
"What?"
"I know that last one is unlikely, but we need to check on everything. If nothing else, we need to find out who this mystery trainer is, so we need to question Rotom about that"
You don't say anything.
"Listen, if your Rotom is telling the truth, we just need to corroborate the story. And from the security cameras in the house, that should take a day, maybe two at the most."
"So, that's it?"
"Not quite" The officer says. "Rotom isn't a suspect. Yet. But he is a person of interest. We may have more questions for him down the line. Just stay in Vesryn and make sure Rotom is transferred to our PC is we have to ask him more questions and everything will be fine."
It doesn't look like there's much you can do about this. You aren't going to be able to use Circuit for a few days. And while you could call your mom to get him out of here, you know she wouldn't. She wouldn't even throw her weight around to get you out of jail. She'd hire the best lawyer she could, but she wasn't going to cover up for you. So she wasn't going to cover up anything for your pokemon. You feel...

[] Worried. What if he gets arrested for something he didn't do?

[] Relieved. If you had stolen some property, then you'd be the one in interrogation.

What if Circuit gets arrested for something he isn't responsible for? You've only heard about prisons for pokemon a few times. It's never anything good. Even when the conditions aren't bad, the pokemon there are violent. Even more violent than ones in the wild...

Hmm. It would be a very nice gesture though. "I paused my journey for X days to wait for you." Dunno whether Circuit feels betrayed at the moment or actually understands why he's detained.
