Catching Victory (A Pokemon Quest)

You open the fridge and immediately, a a sludge consisting of at least five different foods and condiments flows onto your feet. Ketchup, milk, barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, cheese, and something that may or may not be spoiled all fall out from the refrigerator, having been displaced or broken from their containers.
An uneasy feeling fills you. You paid good money for those shoes and now you need to clean them.
You notice that the light bulb in the refrigerator is shattered, though the inside of the refrigerator is too warm for it to have been working anyway.

While most of the food inside is either shot, spoiled, requires an oven to cook, or covered in glass, there is a slice of cake that seems to be untouched and fresh at the left of the top shelf.

[] Take the cake.
[] Leave it.

[] Head down the west hallway.
[] Try to move the makeshift barricade to the north.

Encountering Rotom
You walk towards the hallway and you immediately see four doors. The closest one on the left is a bathroom, which looks untouched, even clean aside from some some short hairs in the sink. The door on the right is an open closet, filled with clothes with cardboard boxes on the floor. There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary until you see some sort or rifle in the back, obscured by the things inside of the closet.

To the left further down the hall, the door is locked, if you wanted to, you could break it down.

At the further door on the left is a huge storage room filled with all kinds of expensive things. A flat screen television, with a sound system, the latest game system, an autographed basketball jersey, some expensive, name brand clothing that costs much more than it's worth. You even see several gold chains on the dresser near the door. It looks like whoever lived here, this is where the money went.

You are about to decide whether or not to to into the room when the flat screen television in the room turns on on it's own. When it turns on, you can only see static. A loud sound pierces the air. You cover your ears as the noise emanates from the TV. After a few seconds, the noise starts to fade and the static on the screen starts to move. You are about to leave before you see that the static forms into words.

Who are you and what gives you the right to be here.

[] Go inside and confront whatever is in the TV.
- [] My name is Bard, and I wanted to see what was in here.
- [] Um... I kinda got lost. Can you give me directions to Fianga City.
- [] ...Yeah, I'm kind of a looter I wanted to see if there was some good stuff in here.
- [] (Write in)

[] Nope. Nope nope nope. You are not paid enough for this.

[] Try to grab some gold chains then run away.

[jk] Take the rifle!

...and then the quest turns grim quite quickly.

[jk] Loot all the things!
-[jk] Bribe this mysterious thing with all the yummy food we can buy after we sell the loot.

Nothing suspicious about the TV message at all. We must proceed! ^_^

Explanation
Do you make a habit of going into places where you don't belong?

"I... well kinda"
You say. "Though I'm a trainer. It kinda goes with the territory. You haven't had a good week unless you risk your life going somewhere dangerous, right?"

You're a trainer, then. So you should know what I am.

So do you?

"Um..." You think about it. There are a few ghost pokemon around here. You've seen Gastly in Route 303, and the Lampent, which means that there may be Litwick around.

"Maybe a Gastl-" Then you remember the one ghost pokemon that is known for specifically getting into electronics.

"A Rotom? Yes, definitely a Rotom"

For a second, the words disappear from the static.

You are right. Congratulations.

(Sociable) You say. It looks like Rotom isn't going to attack you yet. Now you just need to keep him talking. Get him to trust you. Hopefully, you can convince him to not attack you at all. "So... any particular you're alone in the TV? Seems like it'd get boring in here."

Several seconds pass with no new words with only the sound of static and the occasional rattling of pipes fill the air You wonder if you said the wrong thing before words appear on the screen again.

I don't have anywhere else to go.

"So... what happened here? Where are the people who owned this house." This house was still condemned as dangerous so someone would have bad to be hurt. Though since there isn't any blood around, it looks like no one was killed.

Unless the bodies are in the other bedroom.

The person who lived here was my last trainer. He was a bad guy. Wanted me to possess his computer. Help him steal from people. Credit Card Numbers. Private information. I chased him out of here two weeks ago.

No one has been here since.

Well, if Rotom was jumping into the television in the living room and the fridge, that would explain the bullet holes. Apparently this trainer either didn't have any other pokemon or he had his gun was closer.

Still, you only have Rotom's word on this. And you doubt he'd admit anything really bad.

[] I believe the Rotom completely.

[] I believe that Rotom chased the trainer out and that the trainer was a bad guy. Though he may be hiding something.
- [] Try to pry.
- [] Drop the subject. For now.

[] I believe that Rotom chased the trainer out. Though I don't know anything else for sure.

[] Write in.

- [x] Leave it alone. For now.

Seems like the best choice. Give him some time, he is probably still feeling emotional about the whole thing.

Question
New You feel like Rotom is leaving something out of this story. You know you did the same thing in his position.

"So, what are you gonna do now? You have any plans?"

There is another pause as no more words appear on the screen. Several times, the static starts to form words only to once again fade into nothingness. Finally, words appear on the screen to form a coherent answer.

I don't know.

[] Suggest that he goes to Route 303.

[] Suggest he go to the Midnight Mansion

[] Try to convince Rotom to travel with you.

[] Say good luck. You don't think you can help.
-[] Try to take what you can carry first.

Seems like he's been through some trauma, and maybe even helped cause some. I think Bard would be good for him. (And he's also a good, flexible support for the team skill-wise.) :)

[x] Try to convince Rotom to travel with you.

But I will note that we don't yet have good counters against a Rotom, so we would have a hell of a time if he ever goes rogue.
