Excerpts From Myotismon's Diary
It has been three months since I Digivolved from Bakemon. In that time, the others have crowned me the leader of the Overdell. They are rather simpleminded, as was I when I was amongst them, so having someone to guide them will likely do a world of good.

It is trying, however, to figure out just how much we have. Nobody ever thought to quantify our supplies of food before, the stocks constantly changing through a mix of discoveries and appetite. Even when I was Impmon, I didn't eat as much as some of these ghosts do, and yet we never seem to run out. Most perplexing.

On another note, I should probably do something about the Black Gears in the basement. While they seem inactive, it would be rather annoying to have most of my new servants randomly turn feral- or myself, for that matter.

The island has been in turmoil recently. A group of Digimon seemed to be intent on settling at the base of Infinity Mountain for a while, and it looked like they might succeed, albeit limitedly. Certainly, they were never going to get above village size.

It probably shouldn't have ended how it did, either. One of the three Ultimates in the town Digivolved to the Mega level, and wiped out all of the Digimon residing there. A freak accident, most likely. I remember Soulmon from when he lived here, after all, and he was always fairly polite, if taking a bit too much stock in the fact that his species had a higher average intellect.

Pity about what happened, really. I could see the explosions from my mansion- I never would have thought he'd have it in him, to aim for Machinedramon as his Mega form.

Still, that era is over now. Best to focus on the present.

There was a visitor at the mansion today. A human visitor, followed closely by her Digimon partner, an Agumon. The two of them were in deep discussion until they reached my doorstep, at which point the girl did all the talking, in all the formalities of our world.

Her name is Maki Himekawa, and she and her partner are the ones who defeated the being throwing this island into turmoil, though they both refuse to disclose the details. If anything, they seemed to be warning me ahead of time not to double-cross them- confident in my power though I may be, even
I am not foolish enough to challenge a VictoryGreymon.

The girl has come to me to ask for teachings. She wishes to learn about the writings of the world, and how they interact. My Digicode expertise is rusty, but I can recall enough to be useful, and they say that time will not be a problem.

In truth, I am still unsure as to why I accepted. Certainly, as ruler over the Overdell Mansion and the Bakemon that call the area their home, I should be looking out for my own above all else. Perhaps it is a desire for more intelligent company than the Bakemon, perhaps it is gratitude for their defeat of SkullGreymon all that time ago, and their more recent victory. I do not know.

What I
do know is that my life is about to become very busy.

Some time ago, Maki started bringing an old computer with her to her lessons. She would not say anything when questioned about it, and when I turned to Agumon to ask, he just said that it was something personal to her.

Perhaps I should have questioned him further, but if I've learned anything in all the time that they've been coming here, it is that the two of them never do anything without reason. The human especially. Even rebuilding File City into a place worthy of the title came about as a conscious decision, with every Digimon having a particular place and purpose, at least according to the liaison I've stationed there.

I found out the purpose for this today. Perhaps I should have tried harder to get answers from her when she started taking more of an interest in symbols related to time and health, but her general good nature was enough for me to trust in her.

The results are... certainly something, I would say. After all, it's likely not many DigiDestined who can claim to have
two Digimon partners.

Today at tea, Maki brought up the idea of research into other worlds- of portals between the two. It is not that surprising to hear- after all, it has been years, even by human standards, since she went home- but the island itself offers little beyond the space over File City that she and Agumon fell through when they first arrived.

It is an interesting idea. I would certainly enjoy seeing what kind of world could produce such intriguing company as Maki Himekawa and her Agumon. Tapirmon has never been, but he also wants to see the place that his partner comes from... or, perhaps, he misses his human friends from their time travelling with the Sovereigns.

It seems like a hopeless dream, with how long it has been since a portal last opened on its own, yet it is still something to consider.

Experimentation on the Crest of Light ended in failure. I was lucky enough to escape the explosion without a scratch. Maki twisted her ankle, Agumon was concussed, and Tapirmon was forced to revert to Tokomon in order to recover from his wounds.

The Crest has since vanished. While we are certain that it probably can't be permanently destroyed, it seems to be lost, at least for the time being.

We have also sworn off of experimenting further on the other Crest in our possession, at least until we can ensure that this will not happen again.

While I was exploring the western parts of Server today- really, parts of it are actually in Baihumon's territory- I came across an old castle. Preliminary investigation showed no signs of life, despite being in near perfect condition, so I delved deeper.

At the bottom of the castle, there was a large door with a pedestal in front of it that, no matter what I did, would not open. It reminded me of stories Maki used to tell shortly after Tapirmon's resurrection, of the castle that held the gate she used to return to her world with her friends.

This could very well be the same castle. I will send for Maki and her Digimon at once.

...I'm so sorry...

A Proper Distraction
Boredom is fast to set in with you and your friends.

You're not going anywhere without Mimi. You know this. She's an adventurous spirit, and would probably break you if you were to leave her behind. Not even on purpose, but if anyone would have their partner reach a new form for no reason other than to stop being left behind, and cause huge amounts of collateral damage, it would be her.

So you can't leave town for an extended amount of time. It's not like there's a problem getting about from day to day, but you can't just sit around the treehouse all day. If only because you're positive there must be something better to do in town.

So you take to walking the streets of File City, Biyomon close behind you just as much for protection as to satisfy her curiosity. While you're certain most of the Digimon around can be trusted, there's always the risk of a few who can't, as is normal in a town of this size. Not that you're particularly worried about that. The residents of the town seem to be hardcoded to treat humans with respect, after all.

Not that this gives you free reign or anything. The gates to the one climbable path up Infinity Mountain on this side of the island are still locked tight, and probably for good reason, if that's where most of the Gears come from.

It doesn't matter to you, though. Infinity Mountain currently holds no interest to you, although Tai thinks that the view should be something incredible. If you want pretty sights, you'll ask Birdramon to fly you, simple as that.

What currently interests you is fairly close to the base of the mountain, actually. The training facilities apparently started as a small gym, at least according to the oldest Digimon, but it now takes up a great deal of land, including a large building.

An arena, you'd call it, back in your world. The more combat-oriented Digimon in this one insist on referring to it as The Colosseum, capitals included. Comfortable seating, a floor wide enough to fit several apartment blocks, and salesmon insisting that you buy tasteless snacks. And that's just what you figure out in the first fifteen minutes- they're not very good at this whole 'subtlety' thing.

The biggest attraction of The Colosseum is apparently the tournaments. Simple combat, ranging from one-on-one to teams of three, with the doubles in particular being known for interesting competitors. Divided by level, of course, though a Digimon or team could choose to participate in a higher level if they wanted. You assume there's some sort of safety precautions there.

"No entry fee," Biyomon comments. Yes, you'd noticed that. It's actually fairly enticing, though with prizes derived from ticket and snack sales, winning likely wouldn't extend your stay in town by that much.

You're still tempted, though.

[ ] Enter a singles tournament. It'll be easier than trying to convince someone else.
-[ ] Rookie tournament.
-[ ] Champion tournament.

[ ] Enter a doubles tournament. You've got a pretty good idea. (Enter with who?)
-[ ] Rookie tournament.
-[ ] Champion tournament.

[ ] Why not see if you can't rustle up a team of three somehow? (Who?)
-[ ] Rookie tournament.
-[ ] Champion tournament.

[ ] Don't enter a tournament. Instead, just watch a few matches. There's some interesting Digimon in attendance that you may be able to talk to.
-[ ] A group of odd green slimes that are apparently taking bets.
-[ ] A gathering of saurian Digimon near the back- it's the only place they will fit.
-[ ] A flock of avian Digimon perched on the backs of various seats.
-[ ] Huh. There's a few Bakemon here.
-[ ] A humanoid Digimon in the very back, cloaked almost completely in shadow.

Tournament Arc Start
"...I'm just saying it's a good idea!" You finish your suggestion, as well as the vehement insistence that no, Matt, you are not forcing his little brother into anything and yes, Tai, you'll pay for Kari's tickets. You didn't expect talking them into this to be anywhere near this hard.

"I'm entering a solo tournament," Matt states. "Gabumon, you up for fighting Champions?"

"I'd feel a bit better about it if I were Garurumon," The little fuzzy reptile tells him, "But I don't think that will be a problem."

"Good."

"Why a tournament, though?" Palmon asks. "Do you really not have any better ways of earning money?"

"Palmon, the last time we went out to get money, we came back with injuries," Izzy points out. "I'd consider entering it myself, but if you hadn't noticed, I'm a bit busy right now."

Right. He's trying to communicate with your world- in this case meaning Haruka. Because if anyone can work out a way to get you home, it's the local mad scientist.

Though you may be waiting a while. It's not like their research into the worlds has made a lot of headway, at least that you're aware of. Izzy himself would know more, but you aren't asking right now. Best to leave that kind of work to the professionals, really.

"Yeah, you do that," Tai shrugs. "Meanwhile, I'll be doing the cool things."

"You and I have very different ideas of what we consider 'cool'," The redhead deadpans, not even looking up from his computer. "And Mimi and Palmon should probably stay here, just in case. We're fairly close to the wilderness here, after all." Well, yes, if fairly close meant 'last tree before open forest'.

In the end, it's decided that Tai and TK will be entering a triples tournament with you, while Matt and Garurumon will handle the singles side of things. Hopefully, it all works out.

It takes fifteen minutes for the entry forms to be filled. Not because there are humans involved- there are actual entry forms specific for DigiDestined and their Digimon partners- but because it takes you ten minutes to decide on your team name.

You honestly blame Tai's ego and lack of creativity for that one, however. But you eventually managed to argue for one a bit less cringe-worthy than 'Team Awesome'.

[ ] Team DigiDestined

[ ] Team Freedom

[ ] Team Digivice

[ ] Write-in

Either way, after that particular annoyance is over and done with, the six of you are shepherded into a room with several of the other teams. Sounds of bragging and idle chatter fill the air around you. All you have to do is wait until your team name is called.

So, now what?

[ ] Talk with your team. No need to risk giving secrets to competitors- you know Tai can't keep his mouth shut.

[ ] A snowman, a yeti, and a man made of fire. What could possibly have made that kind of team?

[ ] There's a yellow poop-thing with a purple rat on its head talking to a green sludge. You're honestly curious.

[ ] ...Okay, you're pretty sure that team over in the corner is made of Rookies, and they don't have partners. What are they doing here?

Prelude to Battle
"Alright, Team Lost Camp," You state, trying to sound like Kazuya in 'drill sergeant mode' and probably failing. "Time for a tactics meeting."

"Do you even know anything about tactics?" Tai asks.

"Do you?" You retort. He shuts up. "Honestly, I just want to make sure we can avoid hitting each other. Birdramon and Angemon have only ever sparred against each other before, and we've seen Greymon what, once? And both Biyomon and Patamon were Rookies then."

"It can't be that hard!" Patamon points out. "All I need to do is fly overhead and not go where Birdramon's flying. Greymon can... well, he can do whatever, I guess..."

"Greymon's the problem," Biyomon agrees. "He's big and bulky and we have no idea what he can do."

"Breathe fireballs?" Agumon suggests. "I think I can charge things pretty well."

"Don't have very good arms, though," Tai notes. "That's probably why you had trouble with Kuwagamon, really."

"And we don't have Palmon," TK finishes. "So we should probably think about this, right?"

It's a sad day when the kid of the team is the sensible one.

The six of you, while waiting, come up with a number of potential strategies, though you can't do a lot until the match listings are posted. At some point, Agumon gets out a deck of playing cards- you still don't know where it came from- and you all make an attempt to teach him human games, which fails miserably because the five of you don't really play card games to begin with.

After thoroughly embarrassing yourselves, it's Agumon's turn to try and teach you Digimon card games- which goes even worse, what with the fire man passing by, and the heat from his body incinerating the cards before the poor dino can even cover the first game.

Not that it matters, because that's when the listings show up.

The Colosseum's match-ups are... interesting, to say the least. There are two waiting rooms, and four teams in each room. For your first match you will be fighting a team from your own waiting room. In the second match, you will be fighting one of the surviving teams from the other waiting room. And for the finals, you will be facing whichever team won from the other matchup.

For your waiting room, the matchups are Team Lost Camp versus Team Trash, and Team Extreme Weather versus Team Moon. Of the two matches, yours goes first. The other waiting rooms contain Team Honey versus Team Plant Life, and Team Music versus Team Calico.

Not that the other fights matter to you at the moment. You just wait until your names are called.

"Now, here are some newcomers!" The announcer introduces you. "For the first time in a long time, we have DigiDestined in our midst! A reminder of the DigiDestined rules for those that never came to see Maki fight- Digivolution to the level limit only, nonlethal takedowns, DNA permitted-"

"Those are normal rules!" Someone in the crowd shouts.

"No use of the Digivice against Dark Digimon, voluntary reversions in level permitted- but if a Digimon is forced out of a stage, they're out of the fight. Anyway, the members of Team Lost Camp are Sora and Biyomon, Tai and Agumon, and TK and Patamon. Their opponents today will be Team Trash: Numemon, Sukamon, and Chuumon. They've never eked out a win before, but maybe today's their lucky day!"

Given how pathetic the Digimon across the arena from you look... they may be confirmable Champions with the exception of Chuumon, but still...

Do you even need to Digivolve against these things?

[ ] You don't have to. Tell Tai and TK this as well.

[ ] You still probably should. Tell Tai and TK this as well.

[ ] You don't have to. Let Tai and TK make their own decisions.

[ ] You still probably should. Let Tai and TK make their own decisions.

Probably the Most Anticlimactic Fight Ever
"I... don't think we all need to use Champions for this," You comment. "We should probably have one, but... who's the weakest Rookie?"

"Chuumon?" Patamon suggests. You laugh, and you think Agumon does as well, but you try to be just a bit more serious.

"On our team?" You clarify.

"Patamon."

"Patamon."

"Patamon."

"I'm pretty sure it's Patamon."

"Really feeling the love here, guys," Patamon groans. "Even you, TK?"

"Sorry, but... the others have fire," His partner points out. "But you get to be Angemon now! It'll be great!"

"And... start!" The announcer calls, and Patamon is immediately bathed in light, not even stopping his lunge forward as he seamlessly transitions into his Champion form. Agumon and Biyomon follow close behind- Agumon on the ground, Biyomon taking to the skies. You're pretty sure Angemon could take this team on his own, but no need to get overconfident.

...It's not really much of a fight, honestly. If anything, you think Angemon's greatest effort was in not accidentally killing the members of Team Trash. Well, maybe by accident.

You get the feeling nobody would really miss those three if they were gone, anyway.

"And Team Trash has lost once again. This time lasting a whole fifteen seconds!" You get the feeling the announcer is enjoying his job just a little bit too much.

So... you've just won yourself more time than you'd expected. Now what?

[ ] Stick to your team. Those three were horribly weak, you need to put on a strong front.

[ ] Pay close attention to the fight between Team Extreme Weather and Team Moon. If you get to the finals, there's a fifty percent chance of fighting one of them, after all.

[ ] Team Plant Life, Team Music, and Team Trash are now out of the tournament, but they're hanging around at the moment. May as well talk to them.

[ ] You want to talk to Team Honey. Make sure that the trio of adorable bees actually are Champions and plan accordingly.

[ ] Team Calico is just. so. cute! Well, besides the one that's on fire, anyway.

Extreme Weather Against the Moon
"Okay, and with that, we're on to the last fight of the first round! Team Extreme Weather is made of Meramon, Mojyamon, and Frigimon! Powerful fighters, they're up against the girls of Team Moon: Lunamon, Lopmon, and SnowAgumon!"

Meramon, the fire man. Mojyamon, the yeti. And Frigimon, the snowman. Against a pair of rabbits and a small dinosaur.

"Do we really have to watch this?" Tai groans.

"You can go somewhere else if you want to," You point out. "And it can't be that long. Those Digimon look like Rookies."

"Besides Angemon, we have Rookies right now," Biyomon notes.

"Alright, team!" The leader of the Rookies, the white rabbit, spreads her arms, her ears lifting up. "You know what to do!" The three of them leap forward, their forms glowing brightly before merging into one. The light intensifies, before dying down and revealing a Digimon that looks like a larger version of the leader more than anything.

"You know," The new Digimon states in a voice that sounds like three individual voices laid on top of each other. "We were hoping to fight a different team. There's no fun in being one Digimon for the whole thing."

"And as their opening move, Team Moon has decided to utilize their DNA Digivolution! They are now the agile Lekismon!"

"We need to hit her as many times as possible!" Meramon states, fire already brimming in his hands. "Don't let them get too close!" With that, Team Extreme Weather splits and starts firing ranged attacks at their enemy.

Attacks which Lekismon dodges rather effortlessly. "You know, you boys are gonna have to try harder than that!" She laughs in that odd, discordant tone of hers. "We can keep doing this all day!"

Upon hearing this, the three Champions try combining their attacks into one, only for the combined form of Team Moon to leap clear over the blast zone. "But... we don't really have all day for this, do we? After all, others are bound to want to fight." These sentences are said not with their combined voice, but with a single, quiet one.

"You know, Lopmon, you may have a point!" She agrees with herself in the voice that, due to process of elimination, must belong to SnowAgumon. "Let's take them out quick, what do you say, Lunamon?"

And, to round out the trio: "I think that would be a great idea!" Lekismon lunges forward, bubbles forming in her paws.

"Say goodnight!" The combined voice rings out, before they scatter the bubbles all over the battlefield, one popping in the faces of each of her/their opponents.

Within the next ten seconds, all three members of Team Extreme Weather are lying on the ground, asleep.

"And with the use of their Moon Night Bomb attack, Lekismon has secured the victory for Team Moon once again!"

That was... weird. Not just weird... impossible.

"I didn't know that Digimon could combine like that," Agumon notes. "Do you think it's something more common in the city?"

"You could find a city Digimon and ask," Angemon points out.

"We do have some time before the next round starts..." You muse. Mostly because they have to move the dozing members of Team Extreme Weather off the field. So what will you do?

[ ] Find Lekismon. How did she do that!?

[ ] Stay with your friends. No need to bother with anything special.

[ ] Team Calico is already preparing for the next round. But they're so cute!

[ ] Team Honey is muttering something in the corner about the 'glory of the hive'. That's sort of worrying, really.

Team Moon
For a moment, you sit there doing nothing. Team Moon... Lekismon... Of all the things you've been told about the Digital World, how Digimon work, everything, nothing that happened on that field made any sense.

DNA Digivolution, the announcer had called it. And it had been mentioned before, hadn't it? Which means it's, if not common knowledge, still not a complete unknown.

Without thinking, you turn and walk in the direction of the waiting room. You don't technically have to be there at the moment, but that's where you're most likely to find the conglomerate Digimon. And you do, sitting on one of the benches with a trio of boxed lunches.

"Sometimes, I really hate our powers," SnowAgumon's voice muses. "I mean, all of this good food! Wasted! What's even the point of all of us packing something if we don't get to eat it all?"

"We don't have to unseal them," Lopmon's voice points out. "We can keep them for later, so long as we don't spend too much time in this form."

"I hate it when you make sense..."

"She is the smart one," The final voice, belonging to Lunamon, replies. They don't seem to notice you.

You should fix that. "Um..." You can't really work out what to say after that. Lekismon turns to face you.

"Oh, sorry! We didn't notice you there!" The combined voice laughs, and now that you've heard the individual voices a bit more, you can sort of pick out which parts of it come from which Digimon. She has the loud volume of SnowAgumon, the same accent as Lopmon, and her general tone is more similar to Lunamon than anything.

"That's okay," You shrug. "I was just, well..."

"What even was that?" Biyomon asks, with all the tact that you've come to expect from Rookie Digimon, even yours. "That just- nobody even told us that could happen!"

"What are you... oh, our DNA Digivolution?" She glances at you, and you nod to confirm it. "There's not much to say, really. We've always been somewhat... in sync... and it somehow turned into this. We didn't even know our species were compatible, this is normally a Champion form used by the Lunamon line solo, it just happened one day and we rolled with it!"

"But... what is DNA Digivolution?" It's something you're curious about- is it something Biyomon can do? Patamon? Can Agumon and Gabumon one day become a singular force that inspires terror in all your opponents?

"...Oh. Right. I guess humans wouldn't really know a lot about it, if you just came to our world recently." The voice is Lopmon's, this time. "The first recorded DNA Digivolution in history was about two thousand years ago, for our world, between a Greymon and a Tyrannomon that could become an odd sort of MetalGreymon- which was especially unusual because the Greymon of the pair had RizeGreymon as his Ultimate form. They weren't entirely sure how it happened, and were reverted into lesser forms soon after."

"Did they ever figure it out?" Biyomon asks, more absorbed into the story than you'd expected from her. Though, it shouldn't surprise you. It does sound pretty cool.

"Eventually. They were able to experiment, and consistently repeat the process, due in part to the fact that the two had been friends for a long time prior. It was finally concluded that the ability to merge comes from understanding the other Digimon in the fusion, sufficiently similar data to the combined form, and the ability to work in harmony besides them. It's actually a fair bit more detailed than that, but as a human you probably don't need to really know the specifics..."
(Sora's Knowledge: Digital World skill has increased!)
"I guess not," You agree. "I should probably get back to my team now... make sure Tai hasn't done anything stupid..." It's not that you don't... okay, so it's totally that you don't trust him.

As it turns out, your fears weren't entirely justified, though you may want to tread carefully around any Honeybeemon you come into contact with in the future... such as the three that are your next opponents. Great work, Tai.

"TK, Angemon, Agumon, why didn't you stop him?" You groan. The three of them glance guiltily at the popcorn surrounding them.

Right, so not only did Tai do something stupid, but they decided that snacks were more important. You aren't sure why, but you'd thought better of them than this.

Still, it might not be so bad, they don't look that tough... but you'd thought that about Team Moon, hadn't you?

"And now, for the next battle! We have the DigiDestined of Team Lost Camp against the proud hive workers of Team Honey!"

"You're going to pay for what you said earlier, buzz!" One of the Honeybeemon, the one floating just the slightest bit ahead of the others, calls out.

Your plan?

[ ] Champions. Now. Blast them.

[ ] Use Agumon as bait. Tai's his partner, and as someone tasked with looking after him, that leaves him accountable for things like this, right?

[ ] Use Champions, but stay defensive.

[ ] Let the others come up with an idea.

All This Was Tai's Fault, Naturally
You're tempted to make Agumon do most of the work in this fight. After all, it's Tai's fault that the trio of Honeybeemon are so riled up. But that would be wrong, and more importantly, would get in the way of doing well in the finals, which is where performance really counts. You're only in this for the money, after all.

"Champions, now!" You bark out as the trio fly at you. Angemon simply sets himself up to guard while Agumon and Biyomon lunge forward, transitioning into their Champion forms as they do so. It's nowhere near as seamless as Team Moon's transformation, but you aren't exactly doing this to be visually appealing.

Maybe if you were Mimi... no, probably not even then.

"Noble warriors, I shall fight the partner of the one who insulted the honor of the insectoid Digimon!" The leader Honeybeemon proclaims. "The two of you should prevent his allies from interfering in our fight!"

"We're not agreeing with him!" You call onto the battlefield. "He's just an idiot!"

"But you fight alongside him!" The Honeybeemon on your right points out. "Therefore, you must support him in some capacity!"

Right. Swarm mentality. Probably not entirely worth arguing with at the moment. Maybe later. Maybe.

"...Birdramon? Fire at will." Her opponent is actually carried by the blast, all the way out of the arena. Meanwhile, Angemon is fencing with the one that is focused on him, and doing fairly decently.

Up until Greymon swipes the Honeybeemon away with his tail, anyway. The one that insisted on dealing with him is still up, likely due to his size and agility.

...Good news is, you should at least be prepared if the finals have you fight Team Moon. Bad news is, the leader seems to be the toughest of the lot, and has actually gotten a few attacks in, though they mostly just bounce off of Greymon's skull plating.

Again, you are tempted to leave him there, but still... "Birdramon! Get the leader!" Likely the only reason Angemon hasn't already moved is the fact that the one he was fighting pricked him with something, giving him problems moving.

You hope it wears off soon.

"Understood!" Your partner replies, cloaking herself in flame before divebombing the final Honeybeemon, leaving him conclusively out.

"And, once again, failure to properly swarm the enemy has brought defeat to Team Honey. Better luck next time!" The announcer laughs. "Anyway, coming up next is the long-awaited rematch between Team Calico and Team Moon..."

The other match is about to start. What do you do while it's going on?

Sora's DS: 399/400

[ ] Watch the fight closely. You'll have to fight the victor, after all.

[ ] Check on Kari- she's in the crowd somewhere, right?

[ ] Try and patch things up with the Honeybeemon.DC high enough to make Daigo think twice.

[ ] Chat with TK. Figure out what the two of you can do to make this not sound so bad when you tell the story later. (DC for good story: 75. Chance of keeping Tai from getting evicted.)

Well, She Clearly Needs a Good Role Model
It comes to mind that you haven't seen Kari for about an hour. You know she's in the crowd somewhere, your Digivice is enough for that much, but you can't help but worry about the one member of your group that doesn't have a Digimon partner.

Not that you can say much more for yourself. The arena might be large, but you don't feel like dragging Birdramon with you at the moment. So it's just you wandering and looking for a little girl with a Bukamon on your shoulder.

It's just one of four humans in the area, and likely the only one not accompanied by a Champion Digimon. How hard could it possibly be?

...Hard enough for you to resort to the Digivice, apparently. It works well enough, though, and you find her and Bukamon a few minutes later, surrounded by candy wrappers. Somehow, this doesn't surprise you quite as much as it should have. A dark shape in the corner turns and ducks away, just out of view.

"Are you sure that's healthy?" You check, just to make sure.

"Koromon never complained!" The little girl grins back.

"And he became the largest Agumon I've ever seen," You point out. "Joe's not gonna be happy if he finally gets his partner and you've fed him so badly he becomes a Sukamon." You're not entirely sure that Bukamon can become Sukamon, but it's a thought you've been entertaining for literal years, so it's a good thing you can get it out now.

"You really think that could be a problem!?" Bukamon asks, almost comical tears welling up in his eyes. "I don't wanna be a Sukamon!"

"It won't be, so long as you eat right," You tell him. Of course, you have no idea if that's correct or not, but it's what's most likely to both make him feel better and get him to cut down on the sweets.

"Got it," Kari nods. "I'll take better care of him, at least until Joe gets here or I find my Digimon!" You're pretty sure that, even if Kari finds her partner somewhere, she'll still take care of Bukamon until Joe shows up. That's just the kind of person she is. "So, where's Tai?"

"He... offended all the insect Digimon in the city..." You wince. Probably your only chance to stay in the treehouse is to kick Tai out. "He's sleeping outside for a while."

"'Cause of Kunemon?" Bukamon checks, and you nod. "Good idea. I like not having to sleep outside."

"We can agree on that. Kari, don't be like your brother, okay?"

"You don't need to worry about that." Good to know. "Um... I think Lekismon just won her fight." You glance back to see the trio of felines- a black one, a calico one, and an orange one that is on fire- curled up and snoring.

...You're going to have to fight Lekismon next. That's bad. You don't even have any ideas for how to fight them.

...Well, maybe one.

[ ] Stay. Away. From the bubbles.

[ ] Maybe you can talk her into a Rookie fight? Maybe?

[ ] Just go all out. It's not like anything bad could happen in the finals round of a tournament... right?

[ ] Try to break their teamwork.

Team Lost Camp VS Team Moon, Part 1
You don't have that much of a strategy. Not that this is easy to plan for, your combat record being as short as it is. You've never fought a Lekismon before, didn't even know they existed until today.

"So, we all know what the plan is, right?" You ask, before you get called in for the final round.

"Don't let them stay in one place, avoid the bubbles, we got it..." Tai groans. "Did you really have to repeat it that many times?"

"We've seen your grades," Birdramon points out. "And after that disaster earlier... you do realize that you have to sleep outside now?"

"And now, the fight we've been waiting for all day!" The announcer calls, which is your cue to start moving. "The final match of the Champion triples tournament, the DigiDestined of Team Lost Camp against Team Moon's Lekismon!"

Your opponent stands across the arena, looking for all the worlds like she hadn't done anything more for exercise today than a quick run to the store. Like she hasn't exerted herself at all. Given that her solution to the opponents thrown at her was to make them fall asleep, it wouldn't surprise you if she hasn't.

"Are you ready!? Three... two... one... Fight!" As soon as the signal is given, Lekismon springs into action, leaping at your partners, bubbles already forming in their hands.

"Move!" You call, but Birdramon's already spreading her wings, fire and meteors filling the battlefield, Lekismon leaping between them effortlessly, only to leap over an attack from Greymon and right into the path of a meteor. She's thrown back for a bit, before picking themselves up with a grin.

"You know," They state, standing amongst the flames without a care in the world. "It's not a lot of opponents who can last more than a minute against us. They don't think to fight back against a singular opponent, no matter how many brains she has." She pulls out several arrows made of ice from nowhere, twirling them in their paws.

For a moment, the world is still. Just one moment, where nobody, human or Digimon says anything, before your opponent explodes into action, jumping between flames, never lingering on the ground for more than a second.

"Angemon!" You hear TK shout, and his partner moves automatically, his staff blocking the thrown ice before Lekismon uses Greymon as a platform to kick him in the chest. Right. She's a Champion form of Lunamon, and a merger of her and Lopmon, who are rabbits. They jump.

"Get her, Greymon!" Tai encourages. "They're coming down!" The dinosaur turns, fire already brimming in his mouth, only to miscalculate, and Lekismon lands on his head, snuffing out the flames.

...On the other hand, Angemon is able to recover, and attack with a beam of light that knocks Lekismon backwards. "Now, Birdramon!" You order, and she moves, wreathed in flame to knock the merged Digimon to the ground.

...Except she's now in close range enough to use bubbles, and you can see them forming in her paws.

[ ] Call for Birdramon to get out of range.

[ ] More fire, now!

[ ] Admit Birdramon's defeat. You're sure Angemon and Greymon can handle Lekismon on their own.

[ ] Yell at Angemon and Greymon, and hope they do something.
