Turn 9
Turn 9

"Why does mother have to go west?" Alexi asked as you all watched her ride out of the city with her retinue.

"She has a duty to her people. And sometimes that duty requires her to leave for a time." You replied.

"Does that means she does not love us?" Dmtry asked.

You nodded. "Of course she still loves you." You knelt down to your children's height and put your hands on Dmtry and Ivan. "She always will. She just has to leave for a few months."

You didn't know if it was a lie or not. The Polish nobility was not clear on the living arrangments she would be living in, how you and your wife would be able to be together, and your children were unhappy about being away from their mother.

These three all go together, in that they stabilize us through intrigue. Poland is, for all intents and purposes, our responsibility now. If they rebel, we're the ones who have to fix it. If the people are starving, we'll get the blame.
This should secure our rear flank.

Between these two, I'd say go with the living arrangements.
[]Overlook: You can oversee a project personally, giving it a personal touch. Cost 0 Reward a single action can have a +15 roll added to the dice.
Might be a good idea to DD on Spy on Poland.

We have our own patriarch.
Considering we never even heard about the guy, Russia has wonderful level of separation of Church and State.
Take a page from our patriarch, the Pope!

Stefan Tepas has been kidnapped: An unknown party has kidnapped Stefan Tepas from Moldova.
Also, about that:
Moldova borders Ukrainian steppes, and, considering how freely Mongolian raiders felt on our lands, and how useful for Mongolia will be to spark a war between the Empire and someone else...

Diplomacy:

Well, that's an obvious decision.

Wait another year to prepare more troops or muster the troops immediately? Not sure.

This, I think.

Considering we never even heard about the guy, Russia has wonderful level of separation of Church and State.
Take a page from our patriarch, the Pope!
Its because he's actually going out into the other areas of the Rus that have been affected by the Mongol raids and is preaching. He has no time for politics when his flock needs his help.

So a grey-haired, one-eyed, old Prussian veteran who got recalled out of retirement.
Hopefully he doesn't get talked into running for office.
I couldn't resist:V

But seriously, it also gives me a reason to make sure we get the chance to become the marshal in a reasonable amount of time.

So who was the martial while we were in college? Was it left vacant?
The Mashel, before we were in college, was The Grand Prince of France, Charles the Knight. He stayed until he was relieved when we went to the academy.

Edit: yes the station was vacant for a time.

That is massive. RL Russia got a patriarch late in the 16th century, more than a century after Constantinople fell.
What lead to a Patriarch of Rus?
Having a more stable King-level title or ERE having less influence?
An empire taking over all of Europe actually. But don't go expecting to see him right now, he's a bit bust with helping the people of Russia at the moment.

So Rus was able to say: Byz has a patriarch and they are an Imperial province, we are an Imperial province, too, give us a patriarch?

Edit: hey, invisitext!
