This empire seems awfully democratic for feudal Europe.
In this time line, the birth of the empire created a weird blending of political theory, notably in representive governments.

It's kinda like the Westminster House of Lords in RL. Only the difference is that instead of being appointed by their respective princes instead of the emperor. Which makes it more of an oligarchy then an absolute monarchy.

Europe also benifits greatly from having a mostly single language they all speak and read, which helps it greatly in governing an empire. (Other European languages exist, but they are more local languages that the lower classes speak.)

I'm sorry, fucking wut!
The empire has a governing language that almost everyone in any social class speaks, and writes with when it comes to governing. With local languages like Russian being spoken to and by the local lords when their in their home provinces.

The reason this is never brought up is that the language is pretty much a second language to everyone in the European empire. That's why everyone seems to understand one another.

Edit: I think I mentioned it before in a previous turn at least once.

@Magoose 'Imperial Aberration' should actually be 'Imperial Arbitration' - an aberration is defined as a departure from what is normal, something unexpected. The Polish royal family's decision to exile Zima might be an aberration by royal standards, but we want the Emperor to arbitrate the dispute.

Haha! Yeah, no. Language is a very important thing for a lot of people. After the Norman invasion of England, when most of the nobility spoke French, all of the peasants still spoke English (or at least an old version of it). For there to be one unified language across all of Europe would require a superhuman level of cultural suppression the likes of which makes the treatment of the American Indigenous look cuddly by comparison. Upper nobility all speaking German as at least as a second or third language I can accept. All social classes speaking the same language across the breadth of the continent? damn near fucking impossible.

Dammit, I answered a question half asleep without proofreading it again...:(

Nobility and generals speak a language so that they can all communicate in, and also speak the language that is from their area of the empire. Merchants also, speak multiple languages to communicate with other traders and peoples to sell their goods. Sailors speak a common language to communicate in the ports and the language of their people.

Pretty much everyone that either travels speak the same common language so that they can communicate. In area's like the Rus, the lower classes don't really have a need to learn the common language.

Edit: Merry Christmas
