Best Game Ever | Dudley Quest [HP/The Gamer]

If we absorb the D&D book won't we be basically gaining the 1st levels of each class (monk/wizard//Druid/bard/Paladin etc..)along with their abilities or can we only pick 1 class?

That assumes tabletop game books count as legitimate skill books, and that the QM will go for the meta route like every other Gamer quest.

I believe we already checked about absorbing the D&D books. We can't do it.

Seriously, folks. The Gamer is already a huge powerup. We don't need to cram more absurd power-ups on top of it.

You know what -is- a skill book, though? Harry's magic textbooks. We're so breaking into his things and eating them come summer break.

Besides, why not play a class other than wizard?
Other classes? We are talking about 2e or earlier here. Magic User is the only playable class, isn't it? Other classes like CoDzilla were only introduced with 3e.

(Not entirely serious, but Cleric and Druid topped out at 7th level spells and linear warriors quadratic wizards was a thing. Though that means Magic Users are actually at a disadvantage for short campaigns)

And we are first timers, young children and still relatively short-sighted.

Wizard is not really the class we should start with. And it might be better to do a small campaign at first.

The problem with voiting is that we all want to make the choice we would make, and not the likely choice Dudly Dursley would make, even a smarter one. If he was already a gamer of either the table top or video game variety he'd already be trying things to min/max the system, the problem we have is that he isn't. So I vote he does the metagaming quest and the five finger discount for future thieving skills options. What is meta-gaming?

Now I've never actually done tabletop gaming, but I've read some books and I know some books are like sub books all about certain characters, like druids, wizards and other stuff, would that count as a skill book if it described any spells fictional or whatever?
Also if he eat a cleric book would Dudly become the first cleric of a D&D god on earth and have cleric spells? I don't think anyone has ever done that except as a Worm crossover.

No, no skill books. No druid or wizard spells, barring hp-style wizardry. If he learns a warrior skill, it'll be on his own after being inspired. The books won't give him any skills.

Hm. You know, the Gamer naturally picks up skills faster than even the best natural geniuses of those fields, even with low INT.

With that in mind, wonder what the Boxer's going to talk with her about?:drevil:

Am I the only one who likes being a warrior or monk in DnD Why can't we go a warrior route ^_^, Warriors should smash wizards faces in. I don't even want to try and get DnD Wizardness bleh it's just so bland and overdone. Now a proper warrior who can mow down rooms and rooms full of people? Haven't seen that yet ^_^

There are literally tons of quests like that. Several of the CMs quests, any knight quest, most of the ASOIAF quests, and any Link quest. There are more, but I am not really familiar with them, so I couldn't point you.
