Oh, I like this one even better! its my new vote.... only properly formatted like so:
[x] Give him a sandwhich and invite him into your room.
-[x] Pretend to be a Bond Villain caught in the act just like in one of those movies Daddy likes to watch
--[x] Tell him everything.

[X] ... What.
-->[X] No, seriously, what.
-->[X] Did he just call you stupid!?
-->[X] Has he been in your room?!
-->[X] Who the hell does he think he is?!

It's better to release this information in a controlled manner while we still can.

[x] Give him a sandwich and invite him into your room.
-[x] Pretend to be a Bond Villain caught in the act just like in one of those movies Daddy likes to watch
--[x] Tell him everything.

Hey guys, wait. Isn't this a good opportunity to confront him? We could turn the tables on him.
And what do we do here? We subtly undermine the argument Harry that we are stupid,Dudley easily deceiving Harry. And destroy his stereotype of Dudley and if all goes well no one gets hurt.

And even if the option "Tell truth to, Harry" will win no one believed him.

This is glorious.

EDIT: I'm tempted to blame the curry though.

@Vindictus what are the benchmarks for each stats?

Like, what would be average stats for a 30 year old? I want to get a good idea of how wise, intelligent etc. we are.

Possibly. I just think that the most successful 'gamer' stories are the ones that use in-universe powers.

You can go outrageous and have them excel in wandless magic, or have an ability to turn on a dementor's aura or learn drain hp from a vampire. Those things exist, to a degree.

But if you give them the kamehameha and shadow clone jutsu, it just... Ruins things. Why not just have god itself step in and mess with whatever universe you feel like writing about today?

I agree with this. It kinda kills things. Personally, I'd be happy if outside of us being The Gamer, it was still the vanilla Harry Potter setting for the most part.

However, I think it'd be cool to go the SCIENCE! route (even if we end up with SCIENCE! items that work on game mechanics and have a bit of magic under the cover).

Hell, we could bring about the Not!Technocratic Union. :p

Seriously though, we're the Dursleys, not the Potters. Why not go Science! as a way to contrast us to Harry? Plus, it wouldn't make our parents freak out as much if we keep any of our crazier stuff grounded to things they're familiar & comfortable with.

I don't know, it's just not as cool and special snowflakey if we try to make ourselves fit in the Harry Potter setting by trying to be a wizard.:V

Hmm..we might be able to buy Harry's loyalty. And his silence if we choose to tell him the truth.

In exchange, we can get Vernon and Petunia to treat him better. There's many avenues to go about this:
1. We like Harry now, so it bothers us when you're mean to him. (Emotional appeal)
2. No matter what, he's still family and they need to treat him like it. (Appeal to duty)
3. Remind them they can get in trouble if Child Services ever think he's been abused. This isn't something implausible for Dudley to know. As a kid who was raised in the 90s, teachers/counselors tried to encourage kids to be aware and open if any family member touched us in the wrong place.

Finally:
4. Tell them we noticed that strange, bad things happen to people only when Harry is very upset. This is something we learned from our Observe, and we can pass this off as just thinking back on it and connecting the dots.

I don't see the appeal of most of these votes, bond villain one included, no matter how you try to spin it.

Harry's been through our stuff, he's confronting us, insulting us, and we're responding... By goofing off, confessing, and apparently trying to scare him?

No. Harry is right, you guys have killed Dudley and replaced him with a SV hivemind. There are a few of those quests out there, but this wasn't supposed to be one of them.

The problem as I see it, that Dudley in the canon is not very attractive character. Vindictus to do a great job of making Dudley less bad character, focusing on all the bad things about Harry. But Canon has gone off the rails, and I see no point in trying to live in the past.

There's a difference between sticking to canon and sticking to character.

Most of these votes go out of character.

The way I see it, playing as a 'not very attractive character' is part of what makes this quest fun and unique. You're essentially telling me that you don't like Dudley, so this is no longer Dudley quest.

Nice to see somebody being honest about it at least.
