Best Game Ever | Dudley Quest [HP/The Gamer]

Hmmm... I do like a "you'll understand when you turn eleven/get older" line though...

"I'm eleven now. Daddy says that as you get older, you need to start thinking about your future."

[x] Give him a sandwhich and invite him into your room.
-->[x] Pretend to be a Bond Villain caught in the act just like in one of those movies Daddy likes to watch.

[X] ... What.
-->[X] No, seriously, what.
-->[X] Did he just call you stupid!?
-->[X] Has he been in your room?!
---
[x] Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? I'm not some shitty third rate two-dimensional static character in a kid's book you know. I'm an actual person, not a piece of furniture that if it starts to look different it means something is wrong. I'm allowed to do something or be distracted by something or try a new thing. You're an asshole.

-----[x] I'm seriously so pissed off that I don't want to punch as I think I might just kill you. Get out of my face.

death threat line got edited out

We could do that just by calling out that Harry is being mean. We don't need to make him more suspicious to make him look like the bad guy.

But what other vote does that?

I feel like people are overlooking that "Who are you and what have you done with [identifier]?" is a somewhat common figure of speech expressing surprise or similar over someone acting rather out of character. It is unlikely Harry is literally accusing Dudley of having been replaced by someone else... I mean, it is admittedly a bit odd that Harry would use that phrase given he is unlikely to have been exposed to them, but it is rather more likely than him jumping to the conclusion that Dudley was replaced given his strongly anti-supernatural upbringing.

That's actually kind of heartwarming. Harry's actually concerned about us. Despite the fact that we're a complete jerk, have, at no point, shown even the slightest hint of wanting to change, and have had no (visible) outside catalyst for forcing us to change. That big a personality shift isn't exactly normal for Dudley, and the fact that he's worried about us means he deserves better than being punched.

On the other hand, we're still a jerk, so I vote we split the middle and troll him.

...Yeah, ok, that's a point.
So, uh, I might change back to acting like a bond villain.

Our first intelligent prank.

He called us stupid and he's been snide all day. He was even talking crap about us to the snakes. He has it coming. If we don't teach him some manners who will?

Jerk? We certainly weren't a jerk in this quest so far. And it may be less out of concern and more about being paranoid.

Harry is what, 9 or 10? It could actually go either way.

This quest is not, but this quest that lasts two days or less? Before that Dudley had lived 11 years or so, part of which was spent on a pretty shitty attitude towards Harry. Dudley was the asshole, let's at least admit it.

This quest makes Dudley sympathetic character. This does not mean that we can not accept that part of his attitude is terrible, as well as the behavior of his family at times. Yes, there are reasons for this behavior, but also there are other ways out of the situation with Harry that were not testing Dursley family. I see no reason to revise the behavior of Dudley. But personally I find the option Bond villain, or the option of full WTF better than hitting Harry or angry lecture about how Dudley is not a children's book character.

And beat him? I understand that we are playing Dudley Dursley, I'm not against it, it is in the nature of Dudley. But the joy with which people want to punish Harry beat him, humiliate him, only because he noticed the strange behavior of Dudley, and pointed to it .... It's just disgusting to be honest.

Please. He hardly acted the part of the concerned cousin. It was the confrontational arse who just insulted us to our face.

Don't get on a high horse either. This is a quest, a fictional game where we try to have fun. Noone is getting hurt from this. We can play a complete monster if we want and there is nothing wrong nor disgusting with that.

I'm not to in to the bond thing, but this Dudley seems more like a complainer or a pusher than a violent puncher. He is just eleven. Besides, this doesn't have to be a "nice" option. We're just using our new intellect to get him off our trail.

This is a joke right? I do not see any strong insults here.

And the concerned cousin? Are you seriously? He has no reason to be so. The fact that he does not sing "Hooray witch is dead" when he saw that Dudley changed his behavior is incredible. He is clearly worried about Dudley, despite the fact that he hates him. This attitude of the family, because many families do not really like each other, but still willing to stand back to back against the others.

Yeah.
Changing back.

Heheh, I've noticed 'we' have been acting much smarter lately. I have high hopes.

Sorry I did not notice it right away.

I do not mind to hit Harry, it is unpleasant, but it is in the nature of Dudley. I just personally unpleasant to differentiate amongst people claim that Harry deserved the beating and humiliation. That's all I did not want to offend the people who vote for this option.

Oh yeah, I just do not see how to indicate the fact that Dudley was not smart enough as it is an insult. We know that Dudley was not very smart at the beginning of the quest. Even Dudley fully understands that he became much smarter. There are totally different ways of responding to it. From denial to attempts to think about the words of Harry.
