Just curious with the Council's think tank will actually do work which will prepare them for later in the year.

Looks like that really good roll for the Prototyping Workshop didn't go to waste after all since we got a favor point out of it as well as an upgrade to our security forces with better IFVs.

For once in a Planquest, we've got enough resources that I'm struggling to spend them all in a turn. With that in mind, I'd rather save the ES and just go for Synthetic Insights.

The upside for working for ruthless capitalists that want you to succeed because if you do they also get crazy rich. At least these ones are actually giving us the budget we need rather than telling us to make due and then complaining when we fail to make quota.

We do also have 70 ES. Seems like a lot but I don't really have a basis on ES costs yet.

We already have two options that reduce Executive Support (ES) in the form of loosened data security and firearms regulations though I suspect some of the options they unlock might lead to further losses depending on choices made.

On that note I do want to look into the later as unlike the former it's unlikely to piss off a multitude of corporations while still increasing profits.

We are doing good on money at the moment, so I'd rather go for the more long-term benefit here.

Also, do we actually know for sure that Kantor Robotics is a Batarian government front? I feel like we should investigate them if they are because there's no way they aren't spying on our other clients in that scenario.

Not selling to the Batarian's, that just leads to them building Geth, then the Geth turn loose, take over the base, and kill all of their guys. And I bet that leads to Shepard doing a side quest there, and we'll be implicated immediately to selling high end military technology to slavers and mad scientists.

I prefer to selling to just mad scientists, and favours are worth more than what the Council would give us.

Say, on the note of Executive Support, do we want to do either of the Revisions? Firearm Regulations I'm unsure on, and Data Security makes me worried about accidentally angering all the Corps. But I could also see both being useful.

Firearm regulations perhaps, but in the case of data security, privacy is one of the primary reasons companies even come to this planet, so I think it will have a lot more negative consequences later on down the line.

I was thinking on it and really the only plus to loosening those laws is it allows more profit.

Current law for firearms right now is no one other than on-duty security (and apparently Spectres and their associates) are allowed to carry weapons or the components for weapons on Noveria. While I doubt loosening regulations will lead to everyone packing assault rifles and hardsuits some people will probably carry a pistol or some tech programs. We can probably regulate exactly how much we want to loosen them and maybe we can even make some credits by forcing people to pay us to get a carrying permit.

Data Security Revision is a bit more hazardous. Noveria was founded on the idea of Corporations free of most Citadel regulation and the idea that their data was completely private. The proposed revision is that while corporate data will stay secure, personal data is a bit more up for grabs for advertisers.

This is different from the Data Traffic Management Centre. My understanding is the Data Traffic Management arranges profit by allowing companies a bit of a peek at macro stuff, allowing them to adjust their content and advertisements to suit that data. Data Security Revision takes peoples personal data and allows corporation to more easily acquire it so they can fine tune advertisements directly for an individual. Like posting on spacebook about how slow your omnitool hardware is only to later get an advert for a better model.

However companies are really sensitive about their data as data security was a major selling point of the Noveria project. Honestly I wouldn't risk it.
