An American Telepatth in Berlin 2:
"If you're dead-set on this path, no one can stop you." You stated as the answer caught Erik off guard, making his face morph from that of anger, into confusion.
There was that weird feeling that was probing your head right now, but at the moment, you were feeling the need to remind your friend who you were. Someone dedicated to the belief in the goodness of humanity.
That did not mean you were against Erik's thoughts, far from it. What you wanted was understanding. At least from his perspective.
"What? I thought you would be against it? Would try to persuade me from not seeking it."
"Erik it would be stupid of me to try and talk you out of it, despite my own misgivings on the subject. But it's a dark road that you're treading on, and there's no sense in going at it alone." You replied, feeling a great deal of weight fall off your shoulders as you saw his eyes twinkle, first in curiosity than in a convincing. He was taken aback by the words you had said.
"What? You have been assembling a Nazi-hunting force behind my back?" He asked.
Not me, but my father." You replied. "You aren't the only one seeking to put an end to the Nazis. I cannot agree with your way, but I won't let you do this alone. Others walk the same path too – Germans, Jews. Not all good men, perhaps. But men seek redemption and revenge. And if nothing else, they can find the hiding rats faster than you or I alone."
Erik was quiet, contemplating the facts and the words you had said. "You said your father?"
"He is the minister of intelligence, and I stole and read some of his files." You stated. "He's one of the men who is putting together a team to find the Nazis still in Germany. He may appreciate your help and our… gifts."
Erik smiled. "I hope you put in a good word for me."
You frowned. "Only if he decides to accept you into his team, and that is his decision, not mine."
Charles mind probe: 4
That was when you realized the feeling in your mind was foreign. It was trying to read your thoughts in a way that was invasive and very… weird.
You took a deep breath and focused on the feeling, and tried to put a wall around it. To force it out.
Mental Detection:
D100 => 100+20=120
It was not the thoughts of your mind but the boy's thoughts that was at the other table, clearly having no idea what he was even doing, his powers, if it was indeed his powers, was acting out in an unconscious way.
He must not have noticed. If he had he may have either penetrated your mind, sending you into a state of invalidation, like you had seen some men before, shocked out of their mind by trauma or other brain injuries.
Nothing could shock them.
Or maybe he could have just left you alone in a way that you would not notice.
But what he was doing, despite its possible unintentional trespassing of the mind, was still very rude.
And you would not stand having your mind violated, not like this. Not after so much.
You didn't want others to see what you have seen.
Too many like you had.
Mental Defenses:
D100 => 99+20=119
"
GET OUT!" You screamed in your mind, causing the boy to look at you bewildered, then his companion, who showed concern, shock him as if he was completely lost in thought.
Shocked, confused, even.
Excited. That smile on his face was excited, even though he did something wrong. "Raven." You heard the boy say his name. They said a few words in English before the girl looked at you and Erik.
"Both?" That was the only word that you could pick up, though Erik stood up from his seat, taking a defensive posture.
You adjusted your hat but then realized that both the two of them had come to your table. The boy is ecstatic, the girl less so, but still extremely excited.
"Well, you're like us?" The boy said.
"Excuse me?" You asked, feeling a bit confused.
It was Erik's turn to be defensive. "Who are you?"
"Not a Nazi if it makes you feel any better, my mother is an aid worker and a member of one of a bank trying to expand into Germany." He replied. "My sister and I are taking it as a vacation, while she finishes up business. Charles Xavier and this is my sister, Raven."
"Yes, a vacation in a wartorn and rebuilding country, that has only just recently been reunified because other nations decided it would be better disarmed and humiliated... glad to see that tourism season hasn't been dampened by the fact." You said sarcastically. "Going to the opera in our bombed-out city, pray in the cathedral without a roof? Take the sights of homeless war veterans that fought for a regime that tried to kill our people."
"Not like that you idiot." The Girl, Ravan did not seem so inclined by your humor. She also was rather defensive at the thought of… well seeing you angry, or being accused of being something she was not. "What Charles means… is that we are kinda-"
Erik was the one who answered. "Different?"
Charles gave a sigh. "Well, I apologize if my powers seemed intrusive, but I am still trying to not do so without the consent of others unless lives are at stake."
"Powers?" You asked.
"Of course, my genetic mutation. The same my sister, yourself, and companion all have. Quite a feat really… all of us seemed to gather at a single place, at this time?" He took a breath. "Some would call it coincidence, or fate."
Charles then looked at you. "You are the first person that has ever caught me probing in your mind, apologies by the way, and the first to ever remove my presence. Are you psychic or telepathic perchance?"
You frowned. "No." "Why are we discussing this here? There are safer places I know we can talk about this."
That made Charles smile and then you felt his presence again. But it was not intrusive it was… like a shield. "Because, I have a strong feeling that most everyone here or gazing into this cafe, cannot hear a single thing we are saying, or even see us for that matter."
That made Raven shake her head. "Charles, now your just showing off." She was a lot happier now as if she could finally stop being so responsible. Or she was just happy to see Charles being less… controlling?
"Oh, and do you wish to show off Raven?" He asked.
Raven seemed conflicted. Even, a bit scared. "This isn't like with mom and dad. You helped them see me not as a thing."
Do you encourage Raven to reveal her powers to you?:
[]Yes: It's alright Raven, we're not really normal, and it can't be any worse than and of our powers. Erik knows some great parlor tricks.
[]No: It's okay, you don't have to if you don't want to.
--------------------------------------------------------------
What do you do?:
[]Talk to Charles: He seems awfully knowledgeable about your… Situation? Perhaps he can shed some light on the subject. Also, why is so adamant to keep on probing your mind? Did you start some kind of competition you didn't know about? Also, he claims to be studying genetics… curious?
[]Talk to Raven: She seems rather… well not uncomfortable, but the way she seems to look at you makes you think she's afraid of you. Maybe it's the hat? It must be the hat!
[]Talk to Erik: He's very… confused, conflicted even, perhaps you can just, take a moment to get his opinion on the subject.
