Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

[X] Man of God

The Thorns might bring this to an end, but what Father Alexander Anderson's flock needs is more than that.
Kill the monster. Do not become it. End the night, and see the sun rise.
(You're already a man with God in your heart, Father Anderson. The Lord's gaze is upon you. What does He see?
If this night hasn't taught you what it means to be a man and not a monster, then what will?)

[X] Man of God

Only one good way to wrap this all up; a throwdown between Man and False God.

[X] Man of God
-[X] "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who sheperds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I shall strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers! And you will know my name is the LORD, when I lay my Vengeance upon thee!"

Ain't no man that needs ta be more than he is to give a heathan fucker a lickin' that's been comin' for a long time now.

Has Anderson, at any point in the quest, been anything LESS then what he came here being? This Quest wasn't about character development, it was character affirmation and Anderson is, in the end, someone who would much muuuuuuuuuuuuch more rather be a Monster of God rather then a simple man.

THIS is the IC choice, what Anderson IS. Let's not muddy that with what we wish he could be.

@Tricia , you better have Moon Presence or us use the fresh new Amygdalan weapons made by Gehrman before he fought us!

One of us has to use the Shovel. Any end in which it's true power is not revealed is a Bad End

Anderson couldn't beat Alucard the last time he give in, I think that he has learn the lesson

Perhaps voting to draw the fight towards workshop would be more effective, once the fight has started.

This entire quest was trying to convert any body with half a brain, rather than brutally murdering them for the whole "Basically everybody's a vampire" thing.

We focused hard on aspects of ourself that weren't sharp and pointy.

Re: Mithril-Blade

Anderson, whether Canon or Abridged, is a character caught between two volatile extremes of compassion and hatred. He is both the gentle, kind-hearted caretaker of children and a sadistic assassin that gleefully slaughters creatures different from him in physiology and creed. That's what makes his character fascinating. He embodies the good and the bad extremes of zealous faith; he is shepherd and wolf in one.

It was the merciless assassin who chose to become a Thorny Monster of God. It was the gentle shepherd who chose to empathize with a child in a monster's body and died thinking of the orphans he cared for.

In short, I feel there's IC justifications for both of Anderson's choices. Throughout this quest, he's befriended and engaged with heretics, heathens and space squids that he could have simply slaughtered after quoting scripture. And he's also done a lot of the aforementioned scripture-spiced slaughtering.

With equal reasons to chose either path, I'll stick with the Man of God option. Because I feel it's an unexplored option that will lead to character development.

Also because, as many people have pointed out, a Monster of God wouldn't think to use THE SHOVEL ;).

Would a monster of god have converted Ebriatas to Christianity, saved Viola and Fiddle, rescued Iosefka and had half as many civil conversations as we've had?

I think not, Anderson the monster of god would have just cut a path through Yharnam and left nothing behind but destruction.

Look, it really comes down to this:

Achieve victory, but abandon your flock.

Risk defeat, but try to remain with your flock.

The former is the right choice if we don't believe we can win. The latter is correct if we do believe we can win.

So...does Anderson have Faith in the Lord to preserve him?

If (when) this becomes a fight the first thing we should do is run for the workshop and grab whatever new toys Gherman left for us, the shovel, and anything else of interest he he had in reserve.

Monster of God might decide it doesn't like Ebrietas either.
And the Monster wouldn't care about the children.

Ooh. Ooh, Ooh, Ooh. I just realized something!

Gehrman, you magnificent bastard. The Moon Presence can read your mind like an open book...and you still managed to run the long con on that ropy bastard!

A summoning bell to summon a hunter untouched by Old Blood. A final duel to see if that hunter had the necessary strength. And lastly, an armory of fresh new anti-Great One weapons for Anderson to unleash on the Moon Presence!
I felt pretty bad about mentioning Maria when I saw that cross, but now this...
I hope that Gehrman is at peace, wherever he may now be.

I just realized something important: the Moon Presence must be a leprechaun, because if it isn't then the name of this quest is a lie.
