Well we are Father Fucking Anderson, if anyone can kill enough fuckers to stop the hunt from every being a thing again it's us.

Let's try to get some answers.

The Moon Presence should remember that we've already killed one of its kin and God seems to have issues with us being controlled.
Considering Flora seems to be genocidal against other Great Ones, it's probably happy about that.
Was that one of its kin though? I'm honestly not sure the Moon Presence is a Great One.
It's obviously a Great One, just look at it. It's just a different Great One. They don't seem to be a species so much as a class, what with the only ones we encounter that are actually identifiably the same species are fragments/offspring of a single Great One.

That's my point. It's so utterly different to all the other eldritch creatures we see; while they all look different they have common physical characteristics that the Moon Presence lacks . It has no face at all, just a hole in its head, while all the Great Ones have eyes at least and several have other distinguishable facial features. All the Great Ones seem to have fleshy textures about them whereas the Moon Presence looks hard and sharp or sort of rubbery all over. Kos and Eberietas at least have distinguishable sex/gender on a level humans can understand (Eberietas is called the "daughter of the cosmos" and Kos bore a child) whereas the Moon Presence seems androgynous (to me at least, I guess that's subjective). That and there's the obvious hostility to the Great Ones.

Not really, no.

Mergo's Wet Nurse and Formless Oedon both lack any of those.
All the Great Ones seem to have fleshy textures about them whereas the Moon Presence looks hard and sharp or sort of rubbery all over.
Yes, rubbery flesh textures. And tentacles and weird proportions, both characteristics of the Great Ones we see.
Kos and Eberietas at least have distinguishable sex/gender on a level humans can understand (Eberietas is called the "daughter of the cosmos" and Kos bore a child) whereas the Moon Presence seems androgynous (to me at least, I guess that's subjective).
Firstly, if you want to try applying genders to physically genderless creatures, "Flora" is a feminine name. Secondly, applying human terms to inhuman things is a long-standing tradition. See: Boats and the way sailors refer to them as "she".
That and there's the obvious hostility to the Great Ones.
(insert famous warmonger or murderer here) was pretty hostile to humans too, but he was still Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

I was under the impression that the whole reason behind the Mensis nonsense was Oedon trying to reproduce because Great Ones are universally so different that reproducing is prohibitively difficult for them.

And? Moon Presence has shown no signs of opposing us. Heck just the opposite, its allowed Anderson into the Dream. Its helping us.

Personally I fully expect it to be wearing the cross we handed over near the start when it finally shows up.

Hey, long as the Moon Presence doesn't decide to pull any bullshit about when Gehrman gets to be free, all is fine and there won't be any need for bayonets to the non-face.

Who is to say that the Moon Presence hasn't listened to all the preaching Anderson has done to Hope and it itself has converted?:D:p:p:p
