Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

[X] Use the Bell and try to summon the shade of the Pope.
-[X] He should probably know about Christianity being taken up by an alien.
--[X] Well, eldritch abomination from beyond reality, but you're sticking with alien.
---[X] You should also probably apologize about losing one of the nails of the Cross. I mean, it's only kind of an irreplaceable artifact of unimaginable importance and value to your entire religion...
----[X] Yeeeeah... at least there are two more left over.

In regards to my idea for helping Hope and Ebrietas communicate...well what about that bell we just looted confiscated? Convenient, perhaps.

Also, other idea: a proper holy sword-think if we pray over it something or other in its recreation or ask Gherman to inscribe a cross on the blade or hilt it might help facilitate such?

[X] Let him go if he want

[X] Head to the Dream and show Gherman your shiny new sword and see what he can make of it.
-[X] But first, Hope stated she wanted to meet Ebrietas. A dream is just a nightmare that ain't shitty. Ebrietas could get you into the Nightmare. Ergo, Ebrietas might have an idea to facilitate communication between herself and Hope in the Dream. Genius.

[X] Talk with
-[X] Alfred
--[X] He mentioned something about he needs to care of. What was it?

If nothing pressing happens, we should round up a posse to break the siege.

Before we go buggering up to Gherman with our shiny new shit, can we deal with Alfred first before he does something violent? While inside the chapel?

The fact he decided to just sit around moping suggests he's not going to, and I wouldn't be surprised if he asks someone what the hell is up, leading to them explaining things for us...plus Amelia is downstairs, (or somewhere) and we've a bunch of people to explain the why.

Delegation, don't you know.

Just worried he might suddenly get out of his "I am so done" phase and go Postal on everyone. Might be his seating choice near the gone is making me twitchy.

She still back at the cathedral where we fought the Bloody Roasted Crow.

-[X] Before leaving the Chapel to do anything else, ask Eileen to have a chat with him about the Healing Church and everything you've discovered about it.

--[X] Give Ludwig's head a proper funeral in the Dream. In an original grave of his own, not one of the existing ones. Invite Hope and Gherman.

I assume we are also going do do the following once we're back in the Dream (at least I think it was the winning vote):
--[X] You don't need no stinking psychiatrist. You live and breath the word of God Almighty, you are His blade against demons and heathens and leprechauns. Others may need them, and God go with them and bare them on their journey, but Jesus has forged you out of sterner stuff and you can always turn to Him.
---[X] Pray to God about what the fuck you just saw. Pray for strength against these visions and heathen horrors. Confess your sins to Him, for you have lied to your friends that you may speak to Him in private, and you have lied to yourself.
----[X]Thank Jesus for being your psychiatrist, and for the epic sleeves.

Not part of the current vote, but when we get back from the Dream, we should look into Cainhurst. We've shattered Alfred's worldview into tiny pieces and helping him kill Paleblood might make him feel better about himself (and about Andersson). Either that or bringing him into the Nightmare with us, but that might only make things worse. We also need to give Ludwig a proper Christian funeral, but I don't know if we should do that in the Dream or in Yharnam.

Well, he doesn't seem the type given he hasn't attacked us twice. Maybe give him a Bible?

Keep getting confused as to the locations of all these cathedrals.

I was just thinking about that. I think he's earned a rest of sanctity amongst fellow Hunters, in the Dream...plus, the reactions from Hope and Gherman interest me.

"Got meself a sword, an' the head o' the guy it belonged to, which one ya wanna see first?"

Yes. This is perfect. I thought maybe Simon would want to be part of it, but it seems he made his peace in the Nightmare. Editing my vote.

Well, yes, but I figure we can go one step at a time, easier on Tricia. We never leave the Dream without taking a vote for it first, after all, and this is likely to be some fairly long stuff with just Ebrietas/Hope communication and Gherman swording.

Good point. That is half the reason why I suggested letting Eileen handle the full Healing Church debriefing with Alfred offscreen instead of having Anderson do it personally.

The other half is that I think Alfred desperately needs a break from Anderson for a while. :D

I think he needs a break from all the things really. He just gained quite a bit of Insight and was exposed to the crazy that is Anderson at point blank, the only reason he hasn't asploded is that Ebrietas can communicate better and probably breaks minds a little less than she used to

We have a bell, and we have someone we don't want getting away.
Some problems just solve themselves.
What could possibly go wrong?

Are we not worried about the sword reaching out to Gherman and Bad Things happening anymore?
Nope.
The weapon shrinks down to a more appropriate yet still ridiculously huge size when you grasp it. Despite this, there's almost no sensation of weight as you swing it back and forth. You take a moment to look for the laser button before something catches your eye, drawing your attention upwards.

It's a light, brilliant and warm and welcoming. It drifts lazily back and forth, whispering words as incomprehensible as they are soothing. Though its size seems to change with every heartbeat, you can tell it's getting closer. The blood parts beneath its advance as though before royalty and the air has the faintest hint of static.

You've had better hallucinations, but this one's pretty nice.

As the light reaches your head, it flashes searingly, its gentle susurrations replaced with a piercing shriek that fades away with a smell of flame. When the sword falls from your hands, that's all it is: a sword, beautifully-crafted but otherwise unremarkable, tarnished with the nicks and dents of combat.
Not worried when Big J's got our back.
