Is... taking the sword really such a good idea?

I mean, I know in the game it's harmless (except when Ludwig wields it...) but I'm pretty sure the 'corrupted by green fairy lights' schtick is going to persist here.

...Though I admit, I am morbidly curious as to what might happen with it in the Moon Presence's presence (mayhap it presents us with presents in its presence at that present time)

I think the "Mentor" is fucking Guyra OR Seath.

Seath thanks to dark souls 1 and 2 due to the weapon coming from his tail/soul.

Guyra for the old school King Fields where Guyra created the Holy Moonlight Sword to tempt big powerful pure badass heroes to wield the weapon. By wielding that weapon, Guyra can gather energy/mana/souls/WHATEVER to resurrect itself.

The sword also was made to kill Seath in King Field.

It's counterpart created by Seath in King Field is the Dark Slayer to counter the BULLSHIT weapon (HMGS was really bullshit in KF) but that doesn't exist in Bloodborne.

A bit leery on taking the sword for our own, but using it for a grave marker like we did for ol' G back at the beginning of this quest holds some appeal. In any case we need to grab the damn thing before we decide what to do with it.

Considering that Anderson himself has acted as the mentor for many an impressionable young child, I don't think this holds much water.

How about Moon Presence just "summoning" it to its hand, Jedi style, from our sleeves and using it in a fight against us, potentially powering up or changing its form? Cause that would be awesome.

It will become that which it resembles...
