An Unusual Abnormality - Redux (A Lobotomy Corporation x ??? Interactive Quest)

Day 2.45
> pout at how one abnormality ruined hugs for all. Jerk.
>You pout... You can't believe someone was able to ruin hugs of all things...

>"What jobs do the other abnormalities have?"
>"Well, it's mostly suppression assistance. An abnormality named Der Freischutz, for instance, can fire a magic bullet anywhere in the facility if the manager calls for it. Another one, Red, takes a more direct approach, and actually hunts down the abnormality she's tasked with suppressing. Of course, neither of them offer these services for free, and I assume you would have your own price to name if you wanted a similar job..."

Job and hobbies;
>"Well, it is better than staring at a wall all day long. Anything else to burn some time would be fine, too. I never tried to construct anything other than a nuclear reactor, but assembling a bed was pretty fun... I would be pretty happy with more furniture in here, especially stuff I can assemble myself."
>"That would be simpler to arrange. We can probably send something during the next Insight work."
>_

>"...Uh-huh. And what do they do with it?"
>Consider the possibility that this place is harnessing faith/fear and transforms it into an energy source.

Day 2.47
>"...Uh-huh. And what do they do with it?"
>"Beats me." Alyssa shrugs, "They're not allowed to leave the facility, so they can't really sell the Enkephalin for money. There hasn't been any evidence to suggest that they're using it as a substance either."

>Consider the possibility that this place is harnessing faith/fear and transforms it into an energy source.
>You wonder... If they are then they might not be doing a very good job at it. You don't feel very scared. Plus if they were sapping faith then wouldn't that make your powers weaker since Yatagarasu is a god and you're connected to him?

>It might be possible to use the energy you could take as payment to make new spell-cards!
>Maybe make yourself even stronger as well!
>You wonder if energy could be used to make spell cards... Honestly it's a silly thought, because you can't exactly write a spellcard on energy. All it would take for you to make a new one is some paper (or a similar writing medium) as well as a pattern idea, really.
>You do consider possibly boosting your own power with it, though. You're not sure how compatible you'd be, but you could always experiment.

>Consider having them commission a nuclear reactor.
>You consider. You'd need to ask them for the relevant materials, and there's no guarantee they'll let you either...
>_

Can Utsuho write? If so, we could request pen and paper and try and write down nuclear schmatics... it won't be pretty, but it's something to do.

Enkephalin and work
>" Well, If you can provide me with some samples, I'll probably be able to say if it is of any use for me. If not, I'll think of something else to ask for payment."
Energy generation
>Well, these people do manage to get energy out of your presence here, somehow. Even if it is allegedly not much. Energy has to come from somewhere, right? Maybe it is less "suck energy out of you" and more along the lines of "collect energy that you emanate by merely existing" like some sort of a... magic body heat, or something.

Drawing schematics for highly complicated equipment is a major pain in the ass at the best of times. "Nuclear Savant" thing might cover it, though.

I'm pretty sure abnornalities a way, WAY, more efficient at making energy than any other kind of method. There was a race for years to find new sources of energy. In fact, it is said that one company was harvesting energy directly from hell itself. Lobotomy corp was the one that was the most efficient by magnitudes I believe, and it isn't just because the abnormalities but saying more couls be spoilers.
Nuclear raven yokai here doesn't know that of course, but it may not come up so yeah, just wanted to say it.

Day 2.48
Enkephalin and work
>" Well, If you can provide me with some samples, I'll probably be able to say if it is of any use for me. If not, I'll think of something else to ask for payment."
>"Sounds reasonable, though I will need to run your request by my Sephirah first."

>You continue to think about how they are getting energy out of your presence.

>Ask why they don't just make fusion reactors to get energy since anomalies cause so much trouble.
>"Enkephalin is a much more profitable and efficient energy source. I think I already told you that nuclear power alone wouldn't be enough to meet the world's energy demands."
>_

>"How do you get energy out of me being here, actually? I do not feel any sort of noticeable drain or anything like that."

You know, sense we are a nuclear savant, won't having a nuclear reactor increase our energy generation? We are skilled in making them, and if we tend to this one I bet our energy will increase dramatically. We'll have to try it out, though
>"What are you writing on your clipboard? And why won't your management give you a... uhhh, speaky box so you don't have to write stuff down?"

We don't even really need a reactor, I think. Just initiating a reaction and then feeding mass into it would increase our effective energy pool, I think.

Constructing an actual reactor is probably a vain hope at this point. Not in the short-term, at very least. Even presuming that Alyssa is making mistaken assumption about energy generation capabilities of Okuu's magical nuclear fusion - which she might, because Okuu's reactors are literal magic - we'll need to talk to an actual sephirah to get anywhere.

...We don't really need one to just initiate a reaction and feed mass into it, though. Apparently. If we just want to get a pool of additional energy that Okuu could draw from without forcing her to exhaust herself, it might be as simple as igniting a small star and then feeding it some mass.

>"What are you writing on your clipboard? And why won't your management give you a... uhhh, speaky box so you don't have to write stuff down?"
>Don't ask about clipboard. Everything else from this is fine, though.

A little bit too dumb for characterization we have been going for so far, I think. Our knowledge of technology was established as fairly limited outside of nuclear stuff, so Okuu probably wouldn't know about audio recorders either.

She's interacted with Kappa before, right? She should have some experience with them talking into communications and the like. And while she may not know the name, she should know abit about the tech, even if it's basic.

Eh, Alyssa mentioned how much trouble she's had with it in the past. I'd imagine that upon thinking about it, Utsuho would draw a connection from the recorders of the Kappa to being able to help Alyssa. Of course, I could be wrong about Utsuho's character and drawing this out of my ass, but I like to think I'm right... even when I'm wrong...

Day 2.49
> "Who's your Sephirah?"
>"Her name is Hod. I do believe I told you a little bit about her yesterday."

>"How do you get energy out of me being here, actually? I do not feel any sort of noticeable drain or anything like that."
>"Enkephalin is produced by abnormalities through the care we provide them. If they are satisfied during our work, they produce higher amounts per interaction, and if they aren't, well... Let's just say getting a low energy yield from the interaction is usually the best case scenario."

>Ask what they need so much power for.
>"...Didn't I just mention the world's energy demands?"

>"What are you writing on your clipboard? And why won't your management give you a... uhhh, speaky box so you don't have to write stuff down?"

>You omit the first question.
>She stops for a moment.
>"...Hmm. I suppose a form of audio recorder would be useful. I might file a requisition for one after this session."

/I believe we have yet to get specific information what for they actually need so much energy, so at least this line of inquiry could be salvaged.

>"Well a lot of energy goes into maintaining the Wings and their Singularities, and the rest of it goes into running the products and services they provide along with the other needs generated by people's daily lives." she replies.
