Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 18: Ravaging Rapscallions Rapidly Regret Regular Rampages

Expect a PHO meme of Weaver's Angels, with Alchemical!Armsmaster cast as Bozley
:p
More seriously, there are significant portions of the world where female characters are at a significant disadvantage when decision-making comes into play due to tradition or power-structures.
Something to keep in mind.

Lol.
This would be worth the price of admission, almost as much as Thousand Courtesans!Accord.
the majority of parahumans are female and history has diverged, those Traditions and power-structures wont be nearly as strong as irl if they still exist at all.

The culture is different than IRL, tho.
True.

And still even Alexandria has to deal with idiots trying to cop a feel in public.
If you see that in North America, imagine what it's like in Latin America, where machismo is more a thing.
Or parts of Africa.
Or Asia.

That could have been back in the 80s.
True.
But Alexandria triggered in 86, with the Triumvirate only being formed in 88.
That does not leave a lot of time for that particular noodle incident and trial to take place.

Add to that the fact that there are only an estimated ~650k parahumans on a planet of population 6 billion(1 in 10,000), and you'd be surprised at how old traditions linger in the general population.
Unless there are more paras in this AU.

Wait, when did that happen?

And who was stupid enough to try?

Edit: That's like publicly assaulting a War Hero. I can't wrap my head around that.

What? I don't recall that.
Update 6.7
After having spent an entire day with a rogue, and then having publicly interacted with two supervillains, you're expecting a full dressing-down by Uriel when you return home. Oddly, however, the only indication that anyone is aware of your day's activities is an email from Gloria.

Weaver, I've attached some guides for PRT-approved methods of dealing with sexual harassment in public. You handled yourself well today, by all reports, but I thought you'd like to know just how far you're allowed to go.

After taking a cursory look over the digital pamphlets, 'how far' turns out to be 'just short of putting them in the hospital,' as long as it's clear to all bystanders just exactly what the perpetrator did. There's even a video of Alexandria breaking a man's arm after he slapped her ass at one of her first public outings, though it serves as more of a warning of what not to do; even though the case was thrown out when man sued her for his hospital bills, more than enough court cases since then have shown that not all judges are so lenient when it comes to use of excessive force.
The fact that it's common enough to require PRT-approved procedures and to gather multiple legal precedents is pretty suggestive.

Let's not forget those parts of the world that discriminate against robots. Those damn ..what the hell.. robophobes? technogynists??

Different, but probably worse. People tend to become more socially conservative when they feel threatened. That's assuming the author didn't just say "about like real life" and be done with it, which is the most probable. Legend may have changed how people think about gay people, but Eidolon is still holding down the spot of "strongest" for men.

-Female, in an-already female heavy Assembly. This has implications for diplomacy outside North America.

Not all those implications are negative, though. Those cultures where she wouldn't be respected because she's female would also be the cultures where she could be almost guaranteed opportunity to influence things with Thousandfold Courtesan Calculations. Also, being underestimated is often helpful.

Tattletale/Inquisition/Lisa
Pros
-Some players like her.

If you're including that in the Pros, shouldn't "some players hate her" be in the Cons?

Edit: I would rule the beating death of someone dumb enough to smack Alexandria's ass to be a suicide.

All things being equal, Legend, Eidolon, and Hero probably all got their fair share as well.

Hero: "I don't know why women try to pinch my butt in power armor, but my point laser defense system has been extremely handy in curbing that problem."

Alexandria: "Sounds like a challenge."

Random woman: It just looks so sculpted.
Hero: Ma'am, it is sculpted. What part of "armor" did you not understand?

I don't think any of the commenters really dislikes her as such, just that they(and I) find her unsuitable for a variety of reasons.
Certainly she doesn't elicit the same depth of feeling we see in the case of say Accord.
Or Coil.

Not necessarily;Saudi princes, for example, do not take ruling advice from people they want to boink.
And we're looking to engineer wholesale societal realignment, not one-off deals anyway.
You'd be working against a fair number of difficulties; that's what Exalts do, but it still is a lot of work that a male Exalt would not have to do.

.
which is irrelevant in the face of an Exalted social combat expert with Thousand fold's " She doubles the maximum MDV bonus or penalty she can inflict or benefit from based on difference in Appearance," and super human beauty (4th Appearance x2)

They do, but I'm reasonably certain that Grom's red-flagged that Charm.
It is dis-allowed for anyone below the age of 18, because the spectre of Puritanism remains strong in modern American culture.

Even should we get someone above the age of 18 and Thousandfould Courtesan Calculations is employed, it will be kept to off-camera situations. Which means that if Bladedancer becomes our Social combat powerhouse, we'll pretty much never see her again until she's finished conquering the world for us.

Only Armsmaster and Scion can resist her nigh-irresitable charms!

BD: "B-But how?!"

AM: "Simple. I've transferred my emotions into my Halberd in case of Master/Stranger Protocols. All physical and hormonal reactions are then restricted to my power armor. Also, me and Dragon have Cyber sex every other day, so not much can compete."

D: "Damn straight."

Scion: "Saving myself." *Makes puppy dog eyes at IRIS*

Iris: Those make a nice gift, but I prefer oranges.

This quest and thread has utterly wrecked my work/school/own writing productivity recently, couldn't stop reading. Great job Grom and everyone that has contributed to it. I have tried reading quests a couple of times, and pretty much gave up on them after a few pages due to an almost universal poor story-to-drama ratio. Someone recommend this one to me as an example of one done right, and they were not wrong.

So I guess thanks for the hours upon hours of entertainment, and a pox on you all for the productivity penalty you have inflicted upon me.
