A Villain In A World Of Heroes

I see... Then I shall propose my plan.
[X] Create two Sphaera Igniferas, one in each hand. Overcharge them to your limit, then fire them at the lead and second of the giant birds.
-[X] Create two more, and repeat the process again.
--[X] If they bat them aside with their wind magic, switch to Nova Glacium.
-[X] When they are about 3 seconds away, draw your sword and switch to a magic and sword approach, this time utilizing Nova Glacium over Sphaera Ignifera.

-[X] When they are about 3 seconds away, draw your sword and switch to a magic and sword approach, this time utilizing Nova Glacium over Sphaera Ignifera. Specifically, shooting Icebolts offensively with one hand (try to lead our shots just ahead of where the bird actually is, to account for it being so much faster) while keeping the sword as a defensive pointy thing in the other, unless a bird swoops within melee range. Then we gut it.

Neither of these takes into account the facts that Cedra doesn't know if she can dual cast spells yet(I'm not opposed to trying, but I felt inclined to point it out anyway), That Cedra isn't sure she can even hit the Anzus from this distance, or that part where the Anzus use crowd control effects o keep their target on the ground as a standard part of their pack hunting.

Well make them NOT in the air.
How do you plan to do that? ;)

If we eat their hearts, as long as we don't fumble we're pretty much guaranteed to get some measure of Areokineses (And if we do fumble, we'll probably get to experience the wonders of bird flu...). Possibly manifesting as easier unspoken telekinesis with gaseous materials?

Not really a guarantee at all actually. It could also make us lighter (birds have very light skeletal structures), allow us to use our fingers/nails as claws, make reading the flow of wind easier, enhance our internal compass, or just making wind based magic a bit easier to understand.

You know what water is? H2O. One hydrogen atom, a gas, and two oxygen atoms, also a gas. Water is made of air. Control over air gives you control over water. Even if this doesn't work, fire is fed by air. Take air away and you can put out fires. People use air. Take it away and they suffocate. Projectiles go through the air. We can guide them to their targets. Air control, even in meager quantities only sufficient to power a small gust, is still something powerful.
Water (H2O) is Two Hydrogen atoms and One Oxygen atom.
That is not how that works. Control of gases does not mean control of water, except in the form of water vapor. Water is not made from air. Air is a mixture of gases - 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen - with traces of water vapor, carbon dioxide, argon, and various other components. Snuffing out fire is viable. (See last paragraph for suffocation). Manipulating projectiles is viable.

After the birds, we should go back to the spring if we remember where it is and train. If we can't remember where it is, we should go closer to town and train. We aren't ending the trial by blood until we are strong enough that eating the things there won't make us noticeably stronger anymore.

Remember that the spring seemed to have a magical effect as well, in that it appeared to be unnaturally inviting and made us want to drink(this may just be a misinterpretation, but it seemed like it to me).
That sounds like it would take a long time.

Suffocating things is easy. Just make air go away from the target. It's the first and the last suggestions that'll be so tough.

Suffocation is not instant, and removing air for any extended period would require a large amount of effort and energy, due to pressure from forcing the air up its concentration gradient and creating a null space where gases would naturally diffuse into and occupy (forcing the air out and keeping it out requires a lot of energy). Also, the target is not likely to sit in an area where they can't breath, and the larger the null space is the harder it becomes to maintain. Moving this area to match the target's movements would not be much easier.

True, but if we can suck the air out of a target's lungs hard enough to turn them inside out, I do not think they will be breathing anymore.

And the Nova Glacium would probably be the better choice for bringing down the birds. It leaves a layer of ice on the target, hitting their wings with it should bring them down, and the fall might very well kill them for us.

How do you plan to do that? ;)
Fire/Ice their wings seems like a very effective method. They sorta need those to fly.

While it's true that if you could remove all the air from their lungs, they would be left with other problems (there is naturally water in your lungs, and it's surface tension would mean that it's unable to re-expand), that still isn't a easy thing to do. Lots more finesse that we would have to spend a lot of time training to get.

Stop crushing my hopes and dreams beneath the cruel heel of actual science! But when I said air, I meant gases, not what makes up the atmosphere; air just sounds more dignified. You got me on the Hydrogen to Oxygen ratio, though.

*doesn't see any consensus on the plan*

We need to get them on the ground. The problem is that there's five of them, and they are capable of attacking at range. We need to lure them into landing.

...Do we still have that wolf meat with us?

[X] Detonate a Fireball Right in front of the flock of birds, aiming for the lead birds so the blast washes over the ones in the back.
-[X] If they notice you casting, which they shouldn't, but just in case, detonate the fireball anyway
[X] Continue detonating fireballs at the birds. Lead your shots, so that they're flying into the Inferno you just created.

There is currently a 4-way tie.
Okay, what are the disagreements with the plan, again? I thought we were going with a variation on mine.

[x] Hide in a bush.
[x] Throw the wolf meat, pelt, and chainmail out where it can be easily seen. If all goes well, this should lure the birds to the ground.
[x] Ambush the birds with the ice spell. Try to hit each of them at least once in the wing before they can take off. This fight will be significantly easier if we don't allow them to fly.
[x] Incapacitate them with the ice spell, then kill them with the sword. Frozen hearts are harder to eat than warm ones.

I had an idea stirring around in my brain for a while(probably wont do it, three quest are enough for me).

You know how there was confusion in the the begging of this quest if it would be crackly, with minions and things? Well, I have been thinking about making a CK2 style quest where you play as a evil overlord complete with minions. Thoughts?

I'd give it a try. Seems like it could be interesting, and you have been a good GM so far.

Overlord as in the Game? or just Overlord in general?
