A Typical High School Life Filled with Supernatural Battles

Note the combat utility:
[ ] Control 3 - Move the equivalent of 200 sheets of A4 paper. Can gather paper in a 20-meter radius. Paper can now be moved as fast as a fastball in baseball. (Cost 2 sparks)

This one gives us serious mass and reach, 20m allows us to harvest the environment of newspapers rather than just whatever is on our person, while the maximum velocity, I may remind you, is enough to damage metal at this point while we harden 4 pieces.

We can also use this to make barriers, though we need quite a bit of paper.

[ ] Hardening 3 - 12 sheets can be made as hard as aluminium. 4 sheets can be made as hard as steel. 1 sheet is now bulletproof against small calibre bullets. (Cost 2 sparks)

While it LOOKS like the defense option, it doesn't actually have the surface area to do it unless we can move paper very fast.
What this does is give us even better armor piercing qualities, as our paper blades won't deform.

[ ] Form 2 - You can fuse pages together to make A3 sheets of paper. A construct made from paper can follow several simple commands and have set conditions. (Cost 1 spark)

Utility option. This is great once mastered, but at present it adds limited combat ability.

[ ] Sharpness 2 - 4 sheets of paper can be given a sharp edge. Sharpness lasts for three cuts. (Costs 1 spark)

This ups our rate of fire, since now we can fire 4x razor leafs. The main use for this would be to sharpen a construct, since paper missiles are pretty much single shot anyway.

I'm wondering why we need to specialize this early on especially when it has only been about a few days that people with powers have been appearing

Adding to direct combat ability on the basis that we ARE planning on going home, alone, after dark and basically baiting for an attack.

Basically, reach the point where we can defeat a golem unaided THEN spread out.

But by then we would already have a set path or goal that we would want to reach it is a case of opportunity cost the time needed to get the other skills up to snuff once we have specialized will be far costlier than if we just upgrade the already powerful skills

I don't. In fact, worst comes to worst, I am calling a taxi. Operating separately at such an early juncture does not sound appealing in the slightest.

Especially if we are looking to diversify our skillset before establishing some ace move we can fall back on.

Honestly, all of the options are good at this point. I just can't get the image of literally making paper tigers capable of slicing through steel out of my head for some reason... Something to aim for in the future?

Take the massive upgrade first. Also, CC is OP.

Can we fly with paper, I wonder? Just lift ourselves.

God, I really hope we can one day pull a Konan, and just fall apart into sheets of paper and reappear somewhere else, being literally MADE of paper. Gotta kill some golems it seems!

Not without leveling hardening first or else the paper will crumble under our weight

I disagree.

We take control, we'll keep taking it. We'll never be given an incentive to spread out: After all, look how much buffing control does for us!

I'd rather spread out early on,get some more variety for when we find something we CANT overwhelm by sheets alone.

Like a FIRE USER.

then it's probably better if we have some constructs and stuff.

BUT. I might also be completely and utterly wrong. And If I am, I will (Admittedly saltily) Accept that.

Because a pyrokinetic will really be stopped by an origami bird. Personally I'd try to overhelm the guy (he can't attack every direction at once), try to hit him with the paper while it's burning (he might not be immune to it) or simply drown him in ash/due to lack of oxygen. All of these work better the more paper we have.

A non retarded fire user will not be stopped by 1000000 pieces of paper let alone 100, so were going to need something else
Edit: Also betting on the fire user to not be immune to fire and its effects is foolish
Edit2: Also if hes not a level 1 scrubtier pyrokinetic then he more than likely can aoe attack with fire

Control alone means nothing. We should likely develop 2 or 3 of our stats, creating a build.

Like hardness and sharpness is a 'paper sword' build, control and form is likely an utility build where you could assemble bigger constructs out of paper and command them, etc. There might be more aspects to our power should we kill more golems.

He will be, if we make a noose out of paper and strangle him.

We are not immune to papercuts, I would imagine. It would be reasonable to assume the guy can still get burned.

shibosho
If we win against electrical gift and/or golem can we get paper conductivity manipulation. If yes can we make superconductors ?(Laser induced fusion + sufficiently strong magnetic field is scary)

I'm not saying an excuse to the drown him idea.

[X] Control 3

This offers a much bigger immediate power up then going for the two lower hanging fruits. A range of 20 feet with the ability to turn one sheet of paper into a sharp and solid construct that travels at over 100 mph makes us into a rather deadly threat. Then there is also the fact that we also can control a further 199 sheets of paper to act as a view blocker or way to keep track of anyone we paper them onto. In fact all of them can apply 100 mph of force at whatever their current weight is. This should be enough to seriously fuck up anything that can't get rid of them. Enough at least to completely throw off anyones aim with anything. In fact we can even use it on ourselves to sort of augment/power assist our own physical capabilities by layering papers onto our own body and using our control over the paper to move ourselves around. Yeah this can be really freaking broken. I expect that simply getting Control to 5 as soon as possible will allow us to go all wire fu on any threats which should mean we are hard to pin down and therefor hard to harm/kill. Binding is something we have already done before to great effect in a fight this starts turning from a debuff to an active way to basically neutralize enemies.

Anyways I'm basically 70% sure that the girls power is simply force field projection or something similar.
