Actually I vaguely remember that too. It was in the starting page of the SI but has long since been discontinued. Pity really since it was a good one.

... This is Hiver, He avoids the logical choices that would give him power to play in the big leagues like it was the plague when he writes stories nowadays.
Ugh. Whatever problems you have with the fact that Hiver is acting like a person, with the flaws and personality that entails, rather than a "gather power, fuck them over" checklist, does not factor into the fact that, as we have no information aside from the fact that he doesn't watch his juice closely enough to consciously note his fuel levels after every spell, and thus must assume, from this one data point, that his reserves are high enough that he doesn't have to.

"All of them" is almost undoubtedly high, but we don't have enough data to make any actual theory beyond "enough he's comfortable doing magic for whatever" which is what you'd expect of ten years as a living god. He has undoubtedly increased his reserves, and ten years is enough time to gather quite a bit.

So assume he has enough right up until he explains how much he actually does have. "All of them" is a nice simplification for this, but apparently I can't say that without somebody whining about how he hasn't managed to pull himself up fucking Mount Midoriyama by his gods-damned bootstraps while dealing with a global tech revolution, founding a Church of Him that won't turn into the Imperium, and probably trying desperately to get indoor plumbing. And I would probably be more coherent about this, but I haven't slept in something like 50 hours so I apologize if my message is unclear.

Actually it wasn't discontinued. Just "moved".

Sama was pissed at the mods of SB for stupid crap regarding the fics of a journal nature at that point of time.

You can find it *SNIP* now.[/SIZE]
...if it's a Psykosama work and it "Moved", it's likely NSFW (and taboo to link on SB due to that), not that it matters with your inability to make a workable url link it seems.:p

... You know, I just realized Warcraft is bursting with special places, Battles, Keeps (Karazhan?), Magical floating cities, places that have seen the fall of daemon lord, Can you imagine how it would have been to claim the Sunwell or the Night elves massive capital tree?

I'm not complaining about anything, just that the way he plays this is wierd. I can understand leaving his armour behind, but his Shield Belt?

He obviously needs to connect to more red lands- I think the others are effecting his thinking. :D
...nah, he was trying to have it be that the Ancients were mindfucking him and trying to get him out of their universe as quickly as possible, but he didn't give any buildup regarding that at all, which made it look a bad combination of poorly-written/contrived/asspull. :shrugs:

Har har har.

More seriously, women who don't laze about can reach about 95% of the muscle mass of men if they put effort into it, so...

Would the 'average' female ever gain enough muscle mass to move in full 'male' armour?

The 'real world' explanation for female armour being 'minimalist' is that it prioritises speed and distraction over complete coverage, right?

Yeah, I'm being sarcastic. The explanation would work, if only female armour actually ever covered any vital areas...
Uh, full plate harness was actually lighter then modern day body armor. As long as the suit was actually tailored to the woman wearing it, there's no reason why she wouldn't have any trouble running around in it.

The downside is that it was Fucking hot, and a bitch to take on and off, so you didn't actually wear harness unless you were expecting trouble or putting on a show--you just wore a mail shirt or hauberk otherwise.

i think he was referring to DnD levels, where most adventurers cap around.. 20 i think.. and 5 is respectable
Most adventurers cap at around level 8, which is the regional threat level.

At level 17+ you are already a regional power on your own, in which you decide the Fate of the world by your actions and will.

The thing is that it has been stated that there is no limit to the power a planeswalker can possess. Seriously it says that a lot in magic. And because there immortal they have millennia to get better. There are only three things dangerous to planewalker's : other planeswalker, multiverse level god/ess, and multiverse level apocalypse threats. When your a higher end planeswalker which hiver is most certainly not. Ouch that has got to suck.

One thing I have changed in the magic system compared to the game is that power gain is linear, not exponential like in the game.

In the game with one land you can summon one unit, cast a low damage spell and such. With five mana, you can wipe out entire armies. Not so here.

It keep things from getting silly...

EDIT: Also, unless he is behind a shield, he is just as squishy as any other human. Yes, it might be able to heal damage easy enough, but that wont mean it wont hurt just as fucking much as for anyone else.

IceWing_mk1 said:
Has he got enough mana to keep a shield up at all times?
In theory...yes? Practically?

The shield is a active spell, not something you fire and forget. You need to focus on the spell to keep it going. Besides, walking around with a bubble around you at all times that stop things from reaching you are not practical.

Hmmm... here's a thought.

An omnitool has nano assembly and recycling capabilities.

Could you make another nano assembler with an omnitool? Or perhaps a larger one?

Give Dawn a mono-Molecular edged dagger. Or give it to her teacher.

edit- As for why the Horde guys are wary of him I imagine it's because as Shaman their magic users are rather "in tune" with the land and such and can probably sense that Winter is channeling some absolutely monstrous magical ability, even if he isn't actively using it.
Ah, but he ISNT channeling it. Unless he actually pull on his magic, he should look like a normal human with some internal magic. At least unless they are able to sense his soul :)

The wast majority of his magic isnt in him after all. It is in his lands...

Isn't Hiver the guy who had a constant white shield get pinged by a dart (as a distraction) when they abducted his student Dawn Summers? *confused*

That was Hiver Planeswalker 1.0 "I am Power Incarnate!", this is more realistic Hiver (or Winter) Planewalker 2.0 "Now how do I survive this crap?" Hiver.

He could have also just asked the Asgard to make a new, more discreet armor.

I think saving their whole race from extinction qualify as a good enough favor to arm him properly.
