By the time it was dark I felt like a living bruise but I could see the light of fires ahead between the bouncing.
Our destination.
Well...or so I dearly hoped. There is only so much of this kind of treatment I will stand for anyone, and these Orcs would not be very happy if I lost my temper.
I was patient before but having to deal with my so called 'worshippers' back in Westeros drove it up to completely new heights.
Glory was crazier than I first thought when I met her.
Luckily the wolves slowed down to a trot as we approached. My stomach and chest thanked them for that.
Between the small, steep, hills there was a grey and black tower. It was surrounded by tents and wooden fortifications. It was reasonably large from what I was able to detect. Maybe a population of a couple of hundred.
It was dark and it didn't look exactly like it did when I saw it in the game, but I did recognized the place as we entered the campsite.
Crossroads. The Barrens.
Well, that matched up with the landscape, if not the scale. But then again, that make sense. Azeroth would have been the size of a small asteroid if it was actually to scale...
I was pulled from my thoughts as the Orc that was treating me like a piece of luggage tugged on the chain of my shackles, pulling me of the wolf, causing me to land hard on the ground, gasping for breath.
As I regained the ability to breath I reminded myself that I do this to save a terrified young girl. Struggling onto my feet I let some white mana circulate through my body to heal the bruises and other damage caused by the mode of transportation here.
At least it stopped hurting, leaving me just dusty and thirsty. And tired. Don't forget tired.
The Orc said something I couldn't understand and gave the chain a small tug to lead me across the camp.
"Watch it. Tough, it will be amusing to see your face when you realize exactly what it is you have been pulling the tail of." I grumbled but followed him.
If I just thought of activating the translation module on my omnitool before I was 'captured'. By now it would have had at least a basic understanding of their language.
And not like I can pop it open with these guys watching without anyone trying to steal it. I'll set it up when everyone are sleeping.
The camp was bigger than I remembered from the game. Tents and people with carts everywhere. Well, that did make some kind of sense...not only was it a crossroads between ratchet, Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff, it might be the major military base keeping the Barrens safe for travelers.
The Orc pulled me over to some kind of large tent made from some kind of red fabric. His commander's tent, maybe?
He pulled me forward and gave the back of my knee a small kick, causing me to drop to my knees on the ground with a sigh before he yelled something at the tent.
There was a moment before another Orc pushed the tent flap to the side and then walked out. This one was definitely female even if nobody but a Orc would ever call her pretty.
'My' Orc did some sort of salute and then they exchanged words.
Gee, would have been nice to be able to know what they say, wouldn't it, brain? Maybe next time you remember to activate the damn translation software.
After a couple of minutes she turned to me "Here you why?" She asked in the worst English accent I have ever heard outside of Indian tech support.
Well, at least she might understand me better than I understood Orcish.
"My name is Winter. First of all I want to apologize for intruding on your lands. I am looking for a human girl, her name is Dawn Summers. She is about this tall, long brown hair." I said, indicating with my bound hands the best I could while speaking slowly to give her a chance to follow.
She frowned and turned to the Orc that brought me here before saying something to him. Only words I caught was Damn Summers so my best guess is that she translated for him.
...Now that I think about it though, I probably should have brought a picture. Well, hindsight and all that.
At the end he nodded and grabbed my shackles, pulling be back onto my feet as the female Orc turned and walked into the tent.
My Orc pulled me along to a bunch of cages with locks and thick bars before pushing me inside one and closing the door behind me before saying something more and turning to leave.
I looked around my cage. Two by two by two meters.
I just sighed and moved to sit down with my back against the bars "Well. That went better than usual." I snarked, before leaning my head back against the cold iron.
It would take more than iron bars to keep me, but by now I was interested in what would happen next. The Orcs seemed somewhat at a loss as what to do with me it seems as this was a animal cage as proven by the lion in the cage to the right of mine.
I quickly glanced around to check that nobody was watching before I activated my omnitool and turned on the first contact translation software before I relaxed against the bars. It takes a rather good amount of the CPU of the omnitool so I usually have it off to save power.
Now I just needed to wait until it had enough conversation to analyze and it would be able to translate for me.
Sighing I closed my eyes.
Tired.
