I'm 99% sure he's goofing fam.

No, I don't recall editing those lines at all.

Well, I suppose saving for a magic system sounds nice.

[X] Vigor Itself
[X] Vacation

But is a Vacation really the best place to encounter one...

If we heal stay and heal Verschle, depending on how long it takes that could mean Gisena is able to scout out the encampment while we do so. Since she should have some free time after powering up and at that point is strong enough it's not particularly risky for her to solo it. Giving us better info on how risky the fishing competition might be in our state. We could potentially have our cake and eat it too!

Less excitingly there's probably some other minorly useful things over there she might acquire or get a lead on.

GIsena has high-ish stats but her offensive suite consists mostly of dispellation. There are certainly encounters that could give her trouble by herself!

Rings might be associated with corresponding Ages, so if one Ring says it's the Age of War and another contradicts that it's the Age of Magic, they need to decide who is in the right.
Shame they can't kiss and make up decide it's the Age of Magical Warfare, it's not like there's a shortage of synergy between those domains. The opposite, in fact! This does raise questions about what the contest of primacy entails. I'm getting Diagram vibes here, where diminishing opposing paradigms strengthens your own, though hopefully it's not so zero-sum. Does wielding a Ruling Ring automatically assert dominion over its peers, putting us in the role of Sauron trying to bend the 3/7/9 to his will? Is it possible to snowball with every Ring subjugated, altering the themes of subordinate Rings to incorporate the Ruling Ring's ethos? Would Blood & Moon create some kind of... Crimson Moon?

Yep, no content edits there.

Index should be complete again. Also, any news on the Patreon front?

There is also a question of what is our Ring aspect. Is it as the name says the Ruling Ring based on subjugating other rings and using them? Or will we choose what is our Ring is actually is? If the latter, we are heavily leaning towards Blood, we have Hunger, so we may very well get the Ring of Life.

Maybe ours is the Ring of Apocalypse. Blood, War, Hunger.. combined with our Soul Evocation being Seven Seals we have pretty strong associations with the concept. Not to mention our Curses.

The Ruling Ring will be Hunger himself.
His cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life poured into an Ring Of Power! Through it he will be able to enforce his will on reality unshackled from the limits of mere domains. :p

Yeah, Hunger's true nature is less readily apparent than that of Nameless' Ring. Fitting, but slightly annoying. It's been referred to as the Ring of Blood, Fury, War, and a bunch of other epithets. I think the first's the proper name, since that's its 'Chief Dominion'. The other titles aren't wrong, per se, they're just metaphorical interpretations of Blood. Hot-blooded, bloodshed, etc. It's got deep thematic roots.
The killing stroke descends. The hero's final companion throws herself into its path. The hero becomes a widower.

In the Tyrant's implacable guard, a momentary opening appears.
Recently-revealed information adds context to this. The Tyrant was a blademaster without equal, his skill bridging the gap between Ranks (a Hero-Defeating Stance, perhaps?), but he faltered at the final moment. Was this a tactical mistake... or the result of cutting down his adopted daughter?

[X] Vacation
[X] Fierce Quickening

Tentatively voting this way, I know I want either Vacation or Slack Off but as far as build picks go I can be convinced to vote for almost anything. @ me if you really want me to vote for your thing I guess?

So I was lurking a lot but it seems that the build votes generate enough salt high blood pressure Arete so I decided to join as well.

Some thoughts on further build options.

As noted already our offense is high but our protection is pretty much low and our magic resistance is also pathethic. I know we can rely on Gisena but we need some protection against magic ourselves.

I was thinking of the next step in the build. Zweihander is probably a must now, especially because our Rank is so low(ranklet). If we get the Hero-Defeating Stance we get +0.2(does it become +0.26 due to Uttermost?) Rank increase and higher Rank opponents will be more managable due to their rank effect being halved.

After that we need to up our magic defense.
[ ] Peerless Shroud [2 Arete] - Opalescence + Iridescence. With every plate and greave of their armor infused with destructive runes, greater coverage against magical attacks is a priority. With the power of the Evening Sky heavily augmented and attuned to the tenor of their magic, you should be able to weather the majority of their attacks with impunity. It'll also make you more terrifying to oppose, should you run into any other adventurers here.
I think this is the best budget option. Some defense versus magic is better than none. Some might say that due to Uttermost our +protection are weaker but we have only +2 protection. If we take this option we will have +3.4 protection(+70% increase).

Best option of course is the Magic-Defeating Stance if we can afford it.
Magic-Defeating Stance - 7 Arete: A Martial Stance of the Forebear. Grants high-grade defensive effect nullification against all hostile effects of supernatural origin, and quintuples the power of Ruin for purposes of cutting through enemy magics. Mitigate all Curses an additional half step beyond the first. This Stance is permanently active until switched for another [Type]-Defeating Stance. One of the pre-requisites for All-Defeating Stance. You may have [Rank/2, rounded down] Stances active at one time.
It has all - magic defense, ability to cut through magic and of top of that it will mitigate our Curses. Top pick but relatively expensive.

After that probably we could focus on the ring. I am sorry people that vote for magic, we have become SORD WIZARD.
So in essence our next build option should be:
Zweihander with Hero-defeating stance for 7 arete - ability to negate half of our enemy Rank if it is higher. Ability to fight when outnumbered is greatly increased as well. Also +0.2 rank(potentially +0.26)
Peerless Shroud for 2 arete - budget option for some magic defense

I think 9 arete is manageble and will be able to fix some issues in our build. Hunger himself wanted his left hand regrown so he can use the blade to the fullest.

This lunatic is directly biting a raw fish, who does that?

Wait - he was thinking about modifying his sense of taste, and he might one day be able to cook a fish as he eats it.

I like the picture, but no matter how many days you post fishes I will not like how plausible it is that this becomes canon. :S
I think I remember a tv episode where Bear Grylls takes a bite out of a fish about like that.

More art, because Cool Guys Cut Explosions In Half

Not too sure about this one, feels a bit childish. Maybe it's the coloring?
It feels like an intro to an Undertale/RPG-maker game, with main mechanics orientated on rhythm-based SORDing.
I feel actual nostalgia looking at this, like Newgrounds just got a new frontpaged game, back in 2010's.
It's good.

okay but for real I want the beach episode gimme the option that gets us the beach episode

My favourite part is not Hunger's sheer ferociousness or the fish's baffled look but the action lines in the background that indicate this is a tense and extremely exciting moment. Now this is an anime filler episode that everyone can enjoy.

He whose soul contains multitudes, may inherit the legacy of those fallen.

Stuff we know:

1. Hunger is naturally talented with Abduction, the forbidden art of seizing the panoply of others and making them your own
2. Hunger's Soul Evocation, the basic expression of his self, is the Imprisoner
3. Hunger's soul seems to already contain multitudes, given the wording of Inheritor

Considering how quickly Hunger grew in his original world (11 years to the Tyrant's centuries and his raw strength still managed to be greater than) despite the lack of destiny's aid, could there be some factor in our boy that makes him so capable of these feats? There has to be a reason he was selected over everyone else to be summoned, it can't have been entirely random. We can see this in the nature of his Progression to; he frequently has the choices to steal the strengths of his enemies in a way that Seram simply did not.

But what does it mean? Could Hunger actually have the spirits of his dead companions laying dormant at his side? Or would some similar effect be responsible for his potential ability to resurrect his family without drawing the attentions of the Hidden Ones? We need more lore.
