Hunger's too experienced to be so easily scammed! And the fact that you got the ?? from the Magus did make negotiations easier... perhaps such is the privilege of strength!
"Ah," The man paled. "Y-you slew a magus, you say? I, I see."
Huh, thanks for the tip. The robe is immediately recognizable. This guy must be more important than we thought.
Well, there is the Dreadbeast, sir. He's only in a few places at a time
Also. What the fuck. What the fuck? How did I miss this, I don't remember this from the blurb.

Maybe the ?? is some kind of title, like [Adventurer of the Moon] or [Magus Slayer] which the encampment recognizes?

So one of the powers of the Ring of Blood is that we could diminish an entire species if we so wished. Why not collect some grey blood from a minion-knight and try some sympathetic Voodoo against the Knight Commander? On a metaphorical level, the hands of any commander are dripping with the blood of the minions they have sent into battle.

Man, imagine what Gisena's going to think when she finds out about the caravan. The first time she lets Hunger out of her sight, boom, Tyrant triggers! Until observed, Schrödinger's merchants are both mugged and murdered. It should at least be possible to deduce something of what happened from our current state: blood on the Forebear's Blade, potions in our inventory, something.

It's shitty to say, but I kind of hope they're dead, that could at least be ascribed to some monster bypassing their sigils or aggression from an Inner Resident. One of them probably gave the brothers the lunar sigils in the first place, come to think of it. But if they survived, we just made enemies of the entire Encampment. So much for the Doom being harmless.

The good thing about outrider compared to Knight commander is the much lower horrible injury rate and the fact that if we Rage during the fight we pretty much win. Maybe the best strategy is to just yolo in and throw ourselves in the way of anything aimed at Gisena to lower her death rate until Rage procs and then GG?

It would be nice to finally get a use out of the 7 arete we spent on it. I wonder what makes the proc chance so much higher though? Is it because Gisena's in more danger or because their using the power of another ring?

I'm surprised Level Up Gisena is so popular! It doesn't even affect your odds this fight. Poor Letrizia...

That actually could work, but it would take a significant amount of time to see noticeable results. Something for the long term, not while driving forward for power now!

C'mon guys, if we're not going to be able to increase our personal power or relevant combat power for this fight by Leveling Up Gisena, we could avoid showing such blatant favoritism among our companions. We haven't interacted with Letrizia for a while and Gisena banter will be plentiful in our journey into the depths of the Temple.

Hnnnng, Letrizia's too sweet, she's gonna rot my teeth at this rate. Y'all are gonna just ignore the end of the update where she's alone and fighting monsters and tellin' us not to worry about her?

How can anyone read that and not want to give her a present? C'mon

This is actually Rihaku-002, the other quests had a bad roll and Hunger died. Naturally, if things go badly, it'll be time to look at Rihaku-003, where things went well..

The power of savescumming! That's why Regalia is the best!

Hey, she's totally serious, fighting monsters is literally her job!

Yo, just 'cause she can endure doesn't mean she should have to. I totes missed the temple/civ/hunt vote but the rest of the thread voted for this sidequest? Iunno, s'like the least we could do is keep her entertained after stealing Gisena to go exploring? We're technically working for her and stuff? I feel WAY more strongly about this than which monster to fight, tbh

Also if we never grind Letrizia cred we can never awaken our true potential as a Super Juggernaut Undead Chimera

Y'all are increasingly convincing me that we did kill these guys. I'm amused at how quickly my brain starting spinning into Actually This is a Good Thing rationalization for cold-blooded murder. Human brains are tricky (mine, at least), gotta watch out for shit like that.
He gestured to the cart behind. Hunger pondered for a moment. Was there anything he needed from these men?
Am now reading the last line of the last update as "Is there any reason to keep them alive, if they gave me all the information they were willing to?"

If we did kill them, why? Or maybe that's the wrong question, I've been socialized to not kill people. It's customary for me not to. Hunger has his own moral compass, which is sort of in alignment with the voters' goals, but he's been the one killing dozens of people and hundreds of monsters for the past week, so filling up his Done With This Shit meter isn't particularly difficult.

If, hypothetically, two rapey dudes tried to scam him and then withheld information? And were blaring giant warning signs about their affiliation with the Inner Residents?

Man, I was thinking in terms of governments and stuff, not all the habits that I picked up from society without independently moral-philosophying myself into.

Or we didn't kill those guys and my speculation is worthless, who knows.

What's a few merchants in the face of 90% of the Human Sphere?

[X] Hunter Trio
[X] Level Up Gisena

Kill the Hunter Trio, get Dominion: War, grab Scent and eventually use it to track down something that gives Preeminence: War and Preeminence: Passion. Profit Obtain Ruling Ring.

It's a simple plan, but it should work out alright - we can use Scent to find opponents of a reasonable challenge level for ourselves, so while unexpected interruptions are always a risk, it shouldn't be excessively dangerous in the abstract.
