Man, why not choose November Sky + Duchess? Ten quintillion years is a long bloody time, more time than the overwhelming majority of fictional settings tend to last. Why not skip this whole adventure thing and just have fun inside the literally incomprehensively good paradise realm?

You want to mess around in a paradise and have first world problems when you could take up the Royal Praxis or Aurora Halo and quest endlessly against the forces of injustice?

Hm, this is interesting! Can we roll for a quest destination before finalizing our builds, as with the Ticket in Furthermost? That changes the considerations somewhat. Either way, it's tempting to just tap out and live in unimaginable bliss for quintillions of years. Easy to mortgage one's future when the timescales are so stultifyingly large; that's part of Indenture's appeal for Cursebearer's.

Anyway, the Heir's domains are narrow for such a costly patronage, with Bureaucracy distinct from Logistics and Politics. Though this is a beneficial transaction initiated from on high, so 'costly' may not be the most accurate or judicious phrasing; if specialization begets power, Mandarin + Heir builds are strong. Energy & War equals post-victory comfiness. Just delegate all administrative duties and live it up as the perpetual motion man, ignoring the horrible corruption such a society's liable to spawn!

It's just that it would be a short CYOA

An interesting new CYOA. As it seems that I've almost completely exhausted the well of ideas as far as Chronicles of Blaze go (thank God that one post didn't reach twenty Funny ratings, absolving me from my promise to begin a Quest about it,) aside from moving onto Terrascape, this could be the fresh breath of air needed to write more...

Adieu, Blaze Gonnemann, may you live forever in a happy ever after - having defeated the Realm of Horrors, and returned to your friends, may you rule over your slice of fanfiction-derived quantum potentiality in eternal splendor, happy and unmolested by the outer darkness of Rihaku's setting.

Arrive, new Hero - a version of myself, who is about to experience what I had always wanted: to be an isekai protagonist.

(For the purposes of this story, I will assume that my theoretical other self died to a truck.)

Let's see, now...

A Ninja of Heroism

[H] A Quest
[+1 Gift]

Results: 13, Naruto - "It seems that I'll be bringing peace to the ninja world."

[E] The Seraph [+1 Heroic Favor]
[R] The Forester [1 Gift]
[O] The Mandarin [1 Gift]
- Spiritual Power + Mental Agility

Assuming it cannot be used to double the Heroic Favor received, the Mandarin's patronage is used to multiply the benefits of the Forester's, in order to receive both Spiritual Power and Mental Agility - a fearsome package, conferring immense wisdom, willpower, an effective totality of self: traits quite necessary for a superhero. A discerning eye that understands any situation rapidly is rather necessary for such ends, and having the willpower to see it through no matter the odds set against you is vital to going onward.

Although I was tempted to pick the Heir's domain of War, it felt too close to retreading the old grounds the Gunman Reborn has meticulously arrayed for himself in his own story. I'd rather be something original - an upbeat yet efficient superhero in the ninja world, working to end the cycle of hate and pain!

And now, the choice of the hero's power. Although in the interest of narrative, I realize that selecting Shimmer of Possibility ought to be my duty as a writer, I feel more compelled to seek the Praxis instead: its use can fill out the holes in this build, and with immense willpower to see through its use, the easier version of the Royal Praxis ought to be a rather swift and - I dare even say - pleasant method to advance, almost like working out at the gym (but metaphysical.)

(Also it's probable that Orm will pick whatever's least popular, and everyone wants the Praxis anyway.)

As such...

[QUEST] Special Dispensation

And the goal of the build is rather simple - prevent the events of canon Naruto by any means necessary. Akatsuki, Madara, Obito, Kaguya, Orochimaru - it doesn't matter, one villain is no different from the others. All of them have to be stopped; saved if possible, and put to the Hero's Sword if not.

Also, some of you may notice this leaves 2 Gifts to be used - these will be saved for spending, until the Provisions are supplied; if none of the Provisions ultimately prove to be of interest to this build, these will likely be used to acquire the gifts of the Genius.

---

I won't actually start writing anything until the full build is complete, but this is what I have so far.

Wordcount: 566

So my dice roll came up Marvel. No my favorite, but alright. Strike that, that was a d6 I threw. I'll do a proper D20 on this post.

[G] A Quest [+1 Gift]
[G] The Seraph [+1 Heroic Favor]
[G] The Genius [2 Gifts]
[G] The Forester [1 Gift]
-[G] Spiritual Power
[G] The Mandarin [1 Gift]
-[G] The Genius
[G] Special Dispensation [1 Heroic Favor]

This build sets out to go into the vast universe and start righting wrongs. Naive and Altruistic? Maybe, but the Praxis offers infinite growth and The Genius gives me plot armor. With one gift remaining, the Forester is the only real choice unless we want to go Overlord, and I'd rather not thanks. Spiritual Power could aid in the Work, so that's what we're going with. Even if it doesn't unbreakable will and a powerful spirit are useful tools to have in one's arsenal.

LARGE EDIT:

Exalted, huh? I was unable to find an Age of Glory, but a cursory search reveals that the time when the Primordials ruled was called the Time of Glory, so I'll be going with that.

...Boy did I get myself into a situation. Well, it's what I signed up for. Early game is going to be a lot of desperate Praxis grinding and dodging getting stomped by Devas. Fortunately, the Praxis is ideal for fighting beings such as the Primordials, so once I manage to hit a certain level of advancement this'll get a lot easier.

It's hard to make plans because it's very difficult to know what the conditions on the ground are like in such an ancient and poorly understood time. The only certain thing is that taking Seraph and Special Dispensation means that I'm guaranteed to end up an enemy of the ruling Priomordials. I'll just have to man up and Odyssial my way through things.

The hardest part, really, is if I win. I'll have to figure out what to do with a world of primitive people created to be slaves, the defeated alien-minded titans, and possibly a broken cosmology. Also a pseudo Apocryphal breathing down my neck. Would it be unheroic to develop multiversal travel and just, leave for somewhere where heroism is less complicated? Yeah, it would be. When I named myself Emperor I didn't think it'd turn out this literal, but here we are. Funny how the world turns.

Obviously, the solution is to use the Praxis to give yourself a High Exaltation and make your own Lathe of Heaven. And use the Praxis to reprogram yourself into someone who can advance more easily. If Odyssial can become the Accursed, so can you!

Ooh, new CYOA, I love these. I'll wait for the full version before making a build, but I'll go ahead and roll for setting now to see if I'll actually take that option.

Edit: OWoD, interesting. I've read a couple of those sourcebooks back in ye day but I don't remember them super well. Still, it's an interesting enough setting that I probably wouldn't mind taking a Hero Vacation there.

[ ] The Mandarin [1 Gift] - The gift of the Mandarin is exploitation, optimized mastery of systems for good or ill. Double the effects of any one Patronage or Provision benefit. For example, one could select both Spiritual Power and Mental Agility for the Forester's Gift, or two domains for the Heir's.
Can this be used to double the Gifts from the Overlord?

[3 Gifts base]
[ ] November Sky [4 Gifts]
[ ] The Overlord [+5 Gifts]
[ ] The Forester [1 Gift]

-[ ] Mental Power
[ ] The Mandarin [1 Gift] - The Overlord
[ ] The Genius [2 Gifts]
[ ] The Heir [3 Gifts] - Energy

2 Gifts left for Provisions, if those even matter in this realm. I would have liked to get the Royal Praxis, but I'm not sure Heroism and NS are compatible. On the other hand, I'm hoping this build will slow the decay once the leader leaves, so maybe it is compatible from that perspective.

I was seconds away from asking that!

Interesting build, sort almost like you're trying to make a Steward or Successor of some sort. Probably the way to go for November Sky be interesting.

Hmm, rolled Sailor Moon. No idea what to do with that.

Since I did roll Warhammer Fantasy, here are some simple builds which I think are okay.

[ ] The Mandarin [1 Gift]
[ ] The Heir [3 Gifts] - War, Politics

Essentially the Lord/ Emperor route; hopefully the War domain is enough to get some personal safety to either form a mercenary band or to enter the employ of a local power, in which case the domains work their magic as their supernatural competence plus incredible political savvy lets one gather enough strength to succeed at whatever they may be assigned.

[ ] The Mandarin [1 Gift]
[ ] The Forester [1 Gift] - Mental Power, Mental Agility
[ ] The Genius [2 Gifts]

Similar build to the above, but much less supernatural capacity in return for more guaranteed safety of Genius. You really have to go the Total Warhammer route, but this basically makes one omnicompetent instead of the narrower but supernaturally powerful focus of the former build. Among my builds, likely the safest.

[ ] The Forester [1 Gift] - Mental Power
[ ] The Heir [3 Gifts] - Energy

Wizard build that aims to use the Winds of Magic and hopefully fix the purifying Slann stones eventually. No Empire Building capabilities which is a shame, but hopefully can contribute to the setting stabilizing a bit.

Don't feel the need for any of the Seraph's Gifts for Warhammer Fantasy; if I wanted immortality I'd just go the wizard build. Maybe I might make a 40k build just to use Seraph or something, we'll see.

What happens if this is applied to The Genius?

It isn't very ambitious, but I'm gonna mark my top preference as Duchess + November Sky. In terms of quality of life, that's hard to beat.

I tried to come up with a Genius / Mandarin / Forester [Mental Agility + Spiritual Power] build to grind Rank for the Overlord in the Human Sphere and immediately got the following insight: "I should've taken Heir".

But there are lots of 0-Gift settings where an Heir (or otherwise) could be relatively comfy:

Marvel
Duchess: +1 Gift
Forester [Mental Power]: -1 Gift
Heir [Energy]: -3

The laws of physics are the easiest superpower to access in Marvel, so Forester's intellect is easily the most appealing option. Operating at the level of Doom, Richards, or Stark is already a massive boon. Getting conceptual control over Energy, generally, is needed to allow hypertech abilities to operate in the weight class of Galactus, Phoenix, and others.

There are other Forester / Heir combinations that might be fun to read about, but this is the one that I'd pick for myself. (Spiritual Power + Heir [Politics] would let you directly compete with DOOM in empire-building!)

Forgotten Realms
Duchess: +1 Gift
Mandarin: -1 Gift
Heir [War, Logistics]: -3 Gifts

Getting sent to the evil planes of the Forgotten Realms means you've gotta take a side in the Blood War, and the Demons are more likely to eat you than the Devils. Sign up as an officer for the Nine Hells and hold back the chaos for a while.

Doctor Who
Duchess: +1 Gift
Mandarin: -1 Gift
Forester [Mental Power, Mental Agility]: -1 Gift
Genius: -2 Gifts

This is just cosplaying as the Doctor, while being protected by the actual Doctor. Magic is real in this universe, so Spiritual Power / Mental Agility is equally appealing imo (especially given the difficulty of accessing sources of High Technobabble when I first appear).

disregard that - I thought the Duchess only conflicted with Overlord and Seraph

A Winter Dynasty

In any case you may not stay here - not for free, so far from whence you belong - but the mandarins of this realm are happy to provision you with training and trinkets of relatively spectacular power before sending you on your merry way. They offer Gifts numbering 3, with the opportunity below to earn more.

Passage - Where then will you be sent? Regardless of your choice here, all powers and artifacts will remain fully-functional and intact.

[ ] Your Choice [+1, 0 or 2 Gifts] - A world of your choice, so long as it strongly resembles a well-established setting from (semi-)popular fiction. More appealing worlds are more costly. Consider all factors relevant to a world's general appeal: pleasantness, danger level, ease of power acquisition, exclusive or aberrant metaphysics, proximity to hypercosmic influences, etc. Examples below:

+1 - Settings with extreme levels of danger which would be exceptionally difficult to thrive within. Dies Irae, Exalted (Usurpation, Odyssial present), Lovecraft Mythos (HI*), Umineko (HI), Meme Settings (HI; Looney Toons, suggsverse, Dragon Ball Super parodies etc)

*HI - Use the higher-end interpretations of the setting's general power level. For some settings this is implicit, such as the +1 Gift version of Creation under the Exalted.

Patronage - Who will favor you, tiny speck of mortal insouciance transported to lands beyond comprehension? Whose gifts will bedeck your form, and gird you to fulfill the resolutions of a new era?

[ ] The Seraph [+1 Heroic Favor] - The Seraph charges you to be nothing less than a Hero. Your powers great: your burdens greater. This enormously amplifies the intensity of your adventures; tremendous danger and opportunity both will accumulate in your life unrelentingly. You must retain your Heroic nature through the tribulations to follow.

The nature of your heroic path is for you to decide, though at its core it must be true to yourself, and there is no more fooling your own heart than the gaze of the Seraph.

Provision

...This section still under construction!

Panoply

[ ] Special Dispensation [1 Heroic Favor]
- It's not quite administrative privilege, but the Seraph's intercession can grant a semblance of that peerless power, the dream of fairness instantiated. And easier to use, to boot!

The dream of fairness is anathema to entrenched powers; in the pursuit of justice your Heroic path will see you encountering potent enemies over time.

Gain access to the Royal Praxis of the Accursed, with a special version of To Shatter Heaven applied which reduces the difficulty, rather than increasing the rewards, of further steps into the Praxis.

It'll depend on what Provisions are available, but given the options I'd either go with the Royal Praxis or Heir (Energy). Probably in Exalted, during the Usurpation. Dies Irae would be very interesting, but it's a not really an expansive setting and Mercurius pretty much hard counters any one who isn't already on his level / very attractive.

I'll have to think on this.

Heir (Politics) is far too overpowered, so even though it's the one true build I can't choose it.

A Winter Dynasty

Sometimes, there is no transaction, no exchange of burdens or services rendered, no terrible calumnies or duties worth the remittance. Sometimes, there is only a gift freely given - Heroism's hand extended, that the nature of one's present realm might resemble, even if infinitesimally, that dream which unites her kindred in unyielding strife:

A kinder world than this.

For it is the nature of grace to be unbidden and unearned; unasked-for, and undeserved.
Ok, " akinder world than this" was the message written on the surface of the Lathe of Heaven, I remember that. But where was the "grace unbidden and unearned" bit from? Part of me wants to say "The Maiden/The Manifest Realm", but it also feels wrong, as THEIR grace was very much given to the "deserving" ones...

You have arrived here, in the Winter Dynasty of the Forebear eternal, a land of wondrous abundance. It is a place of plentiful amusements and invincible stability, currently threaded through with endless holiday cheer. Here is the magnificence of its overlord's illimitable might refracted most perfectly through the lens of his realm; frost-crowned apex of his unyielding regime, before the Solstice Dynasty of his departure begins its slow and glorious dissipation.

Perhaps you perished in a previous life, spirited away by falling piano or runaway tractor; perhaps you were suddenly ignited by resplendent flame, to emerge unscathed in this vista of heroes; or perhaps you were simply plucked from the limitless cosmos, one experiment of many, seeking just recompense.

---

They offer Gifts numbering 3, with the opportunity below to earn more.
...So, If I understand it right, this is the "kingdom" of Hunger at his apex. Probably the Voyaging Realm, which under Aobaru is a place of unlimited and riskless adventure.

...well, this sounds like a ...uh... somehow I don't remember the word for this. "build your character"? "cyoa"? It feels close, but not the right term...

eh, I'll go with CYOA. I just feel like there was a more specific term for it for some reason...

Passage - Where then will you be sent? Regardless of your choice here, all powers and artifacts will remain fully-functional and intact.

oh, you get to choose? well, let's see...

[ ] Return [0 Gifts] - Return to the mundane world of your conception. There are certain individuals you will not be permitted to act against, but they are not so enormously influential that a reasonable individual would find their actions significantly constrained. Some are waived of even this limitation; you will know if you number among them.

...definitely tempting. just a moderate intelligence or charisma boost would be enough to raise you to the top of the food chain here on earth... and maybe a moderate physical one to keep you safe too.

It also comes with the advantage of familiarity and not losing your old life.

+0 - Highly dangerous settings with a great number of cosmic-level difficulties. Warhammer 40,000, Exalted (Age of Glory), Marvel/DC (Mainline, Reboots / Crisis events will occur), oWoD (HI, End Times inevitable, though can be delayed), Forgotten Realms (HI, Outer / Evil Planes), Fate/Grand Order (HI), Dragon Ball Z

2 - Any setting significantly more appealing than the examples above. These range from the anarchy and deprivation of Warhammer Fantasy; to the relative mundanity of Your Hero Academia; to the sybaritic overabundance of the Culture. It all depends on you!

Worm, Naruto, Bleach, Fate; Sailor Moon or Madoka Magica; Final Fantasy or Attack on Titan; the realms of Pathfinder or others now forgotten - nearly anywhere you'd care to visit, can all be made available to you here.

Settings more outlandishly appealing than the Culture at its peak, such as Nameless' hypothetical post-Awakening realm, are not accessible herein.

*HI - Use the higher-end interpretations of the setting's general power level. For some settings this is implicit, such as the +1 Gift version of Creation under the Exalted.

...I think I have choice paralysis. I have NO IDEA what setting to choose!

...I'll come back to this later

...though with, say, a Dragonball Super (at least the manga) universe, you can actually cheat. Recently they had one character wish on some dragonballs to become "the strongest in the universe", and it worked. Admittedly at the cost of some of his lifespand...but I don't see why a second wish couldn't deal with that problem.

[ ] A Quest [+1 Gift] - Your proper place: a world of myths and monsters populated by individuals of superhuman capability. You may have to overthrow some epochal monster or god-king tyrant, but with fate's support it should be little more than the dalliance of a season*; to say nothing of the lifelong companions you might gain!

Randomly select one world among the examples given for the 0- and 2-Gift sections under Your Choice. Your adventure takes place in this setting. For example, roll a d20 and consult the chart below:

1 - Warhammer 40,000
2 - Exalted (Age of Glory)
3 - Marvel
4 - DC
5 - Old World of Darkness
6 - D&D Forgotten Realms (Randomly select a major Outer or Evil Plane)
7 - Fate/Grand Order
8 - Dragon Ball Z
9 - Warhammer Fantasy
10 - My Hero Academia
11 - The Culture
12 - Worm
13 - Naruto
14 - Bleach
15 - Fate
16 - Sailor Moon
17 - Puella Magi Madoka Magica
18 - Final Fantasy (Randomly select one, or spend one Gift to choose)
19 - Attack on Titan
20 - D&D Pathfinder

You may spend a Gift to instead roll three times, selecting your preferred result of the three.

*...No quest is guaranteed to merely be the 'dalliance' of a season. However, the difficulty of your quest scales only imperfectly to your capabilities, so it is possible to start with a considerable leg up relative to the world of your passage.

...I'd probably end up going with this simply because of choice paralysis. At least I get an extra gift...

Let's see...

I have quite complete knowledge of Old World of Darkness (mostly vampire, but also a bit of all the other races), DBZ, MHA, Naruto, Bleach, Sailor Moon, Madoka, Attack on Titan and a few Final Fantasy. that's 9 out of 20.

I also have decent knowledge (though hardly comprehensive) of Marvel, DC, Forgotten Realms and Fate.

Finally, I know at the very least the basics and power systems of the other ones, except Warhammer Fantasy and the Culture...

yeah, I think I could live with the Quest, depending on if I need the gift.
[ ] November Sky [4 Gifts] - If you wish to stay, such can be accommodated. The Winter Dynasty is a cosmic jewel in its overlord's infinite crown, and its dominion utopian beyond the conceivable reaches of mortal kind. The particular kingdom of your arrival offers incredible adventure and paradisiacal bounty in equal measure; furthermore, at least ten quintillion years will pass before the Forebear departs in full, leaving its peoples to their languorous decline.

As a naturalized citizen of the Winter Dynasty, you will receive axiomatic invincibility against oblivion or torturous mental states; a near unlimited mass-energy and complexity budget for projects smaller than a city-state (or galaxy, with sufficient authorization); and access to the full bounty of available magical systems which can, if properly utilized, eventually achieve outcomes of nearly arbitrary versatility from the perspective of an unaugmented human.

You are nearly guaranteed to attain hedonic experiences wholly beyond the reach of any physical substrate, biological or otherwise; joys which for all their overwhelming valence do not obliterate meaning or volition in your judgement and decision-making.

Who knows? Perhaps you'll even be of service to the greater cause in the battles to come.

...ah, I think I misunderstood before. This is probably Adorie's realm in the VERY ancient past.

...and now that I've seen this, I don't really care much for the other destinations. I mean, they're offering me heaven, and the ability to try and do basically anything I want! I just need to get one extra gift point...

Patronage - Who will favor you, tiny speck of mortal insouciance transported to lands beyond comprehension? Whose gifts will bedeck your form, and gird you to fulfill the resolutions of a new era?
...insouciance... I swear, I only see those kinds of words used unironically by Rihaku.

[ ] The Duchess [+1 Gift] - The Duchess is mercurial and slightly petty; to receive her favor she asks only that you refrain from selecting any other's. You may still receive Passage and Provision effects without restraint.
...well, november sky + duchess is already max comfiness... that's probably the wisest choice for an unambitious person.
[ ] The Overlord [+5 Gifts] - The burdens of the Overlord are vast, but his powers unimaginable. The Overlord charges that you yourself accrue power, which he will expend towards the minuscule reduction of the immeasurable duties laid upon his form. His appetite for power is virtually without limit; you will be driven unyieldingly towards this purpose at least sixteen hours a day, though the bountiful Gifts of his patronage should, if properly applied, easily overcome your need for rest or sleep, and outsized performance can earn a measure of respite.

You are free to apply your own judgement in determining the most effective long-term means of power acquisition, though such judgement must be unfettered and sincere if you wish to retain your complete volition. Nor are you required to surrender the power thus gained in its entirety, or at unreasonably brief intervals, so long as you contribute an appropriate quantity for your capabilities and reach. All forms of power ought theoretically qualify, but those most relevant to the world of your Passage will grant superior returns.

ok, the option for those aiming for max power. After all, power compounds on itself. Even if you have to give up part of it, you can probably make up for that lost part relatively quickly with the right combination of systems...

The nature of your heroic path is for you to decide, though at its core it must be true to yourself, and there is no more fooling your own heart than the gaze of the Seraph.

...I can't tell what's worse to live through, the path of the Seraph or the path of the Overlord. They're both really heavy on the unprepared...

Yeah, if it was actually ME that got dropped in this world, I'd probably just go for Duchess and November Sky. Leave the fighting and mad research for more power to the ambitious and heroic ones, I'll be over there chilling with my city-state sized utopia catering to my every whim
[ ] The Forester [1 Gift] - The gift of the Forester is focused purpose; honing of the self towards a particular methodology. Select one of the following:

Power - A form broad and powerful, with angular visage and fearsome thews; or a mind equally so, with raw computational horsepower unparalleled amongst men. All actions in which one takes the direct path, the path of violence, or the path of brute force are at least 50% more effective than they would otherwise be.
-[ ] Physical Power: Specialized for strength and endurance, capable of out-fighting an ox in single combat, with the durability of a fully-grown oak.
-[ ] Mental Power: Powerful intelligence with a faultless memory and peak-human information processing abilities. Grants a minimum of +10% Progression speed in any skill with a significant mental component. For most skills the user advances orders of magnitude beyond average speed.
-[ ] Spiritual Power: Nigh-unbreakable will and fearsome totality of self; an unquenchable vigor of personal presence that cows and subordinates others. Grants enduring patience, magnetic charisma and immense reserves in any magical system that relies on personal spiritual power.

mh.. Physical Power sounds underwhelming. I can see the attractiveness in the other two though. Spiritual power is connected to a lot of powers from the worlds mentioned before, like Dragonball's ki, naruto's chakra and Bleach's Reiryoku. Mental Power could be used to quickly progress in a lot of skills. I wonder... d&d arcane magic (at least for the wizard class) has spellcasters "memorize" spells in the morning, and "forget them" once they cast them. Would "faultless memory" allow you to basically cheat and get unlimited magical slots/castings for the spells you know?

Agility - A form lithe and slender, with quicksilver reflexes and faultless coordination; or a mind cunning and circuitous, capable of sniffing out any plot. All actions in which one takes a notably indirect path, the path of preparation, or the path of finesse are at least 20% less risky than they would otherwise be.
-[ ] Physical Agility: Specialized for speed and precision, capable of snatching an arrow mid-flight, with reflexes to match the swiftest in the animal kingdom. If the recipient wishes, may also grant a delicate physical beauty to match the fairest of natural-born humans.
-[ ] Mental Agility: Perceptiveness, speed of thought, and practical wisdom to match any human ever to live. The recipient's judgement, decision-making, and cool under fire are legendary, their discernment cogent and incisive. In almost any scenario they at least have a rough idea of what ought to be done - a capability often sorely underestimated by those who haven't opposed such a character.

Mental Agility would be a good fit for the "Return" destination, though Mental and Spiritual Power would also work well.

[ ] The Mandarin [1 Gift] - The gift of the Mandarin is exploitation, optimized mastery of systems for good or ill. Double the effects of any one Patronage or Provision benefit. Benefits are only those noted within the description text of an option. For example, one could select both Spiritual Power and Mental Agility for the Forester's Gift, or two domains for the Heir's, but selecting the Overlord would have no effect as the description text of his option offers only burdens.
mh... interesting. yeah, Mandarin + double forester's is a decent cheap/simple combo, though I'm sure we can do better than that...
[ ] The Genius [2 Gifts] - The gift of the Genius is nothing less than perfection in life. The recipient is blessed with a powerful guardian which will work to prevent, mitigate or undo the worst misfortunes of their personal journey. In the prevention of minor inconveniences it will not bestir to action, but its power to circumvent death borders on the absurd. The recipient is easily capable of surviving a seemingly endless string of deadly circumstances that would surely lead to annihilation in any reasonable scenario.

Additionally, such mitigation will occasionally result in astounding reversals of fortune, by which the recipient will receive an opportunity to profit enormously in resources, power, or circumstances favorable to their objectives and disposition. +++++Luck

...pair this with something like Squid Game or similar death games...
[ ] The Heir [3 Gifts] - The gift of the Heir is as simple as it is mighty. Select one of the following domains and gain powerful influence over its purview, growing steadily with effort:

Progression: Aggressive. Should one work diligently at it, master-level capabilities can be achieved within twenty years. Adept-level effects take roughly a week to a month to develop, depending on power.

Beginner: Develop expert-level skills in one's domain. Modestly alter outcomes and circumstances relevant to one's domain. Ward powerfully against negative outcomes arising from one's domain. Consistently win battles that would normally have a one percent chance of victory (War); steal a man's fortune out from under his nose (Thievery); Amplify the force of one's blows five-fold (Energy).

Adept: Develop grandmaster-level skills in one's domain, allowing for feats of improbable skill. Majorly adjust outcomes and circumstances relevant to one's domain, and ward overwhelmingly against negative outcomes from such. Cure fully metastatic cancer with a five-minute operation and minimal side effects (Medicine); reach any destination in time for your needs so long as a road to there exists (Logistics); go from a local official to President of your country for life (Politics); achieve supernaturally-positive outcomes over virtually any domain already administered by an existing bureaucracy (Bureaucracy); fight off a thousand armed soldiers single-handed (War); steal a con-man's charm, or a professor's genius (Thievery); emit destructive energies capable of leveling a skyscraper (Energy)

Master: Near-total influence over any concept even tangentially connected to one's domain. Create a Celestial Parliament of supernaturally-powerful spirits to administrate metaphysics (Bureaucracy); wage meaningful war against the concept of entropy (War); create a new form of energy which allows for supernatural manipulation of reality (Energy); cure the ills of the Earth, removing all harmful pathogens and restoring an unpolluted ecosystem (Medicine); make political engagement fun, interesting, and great overall even for ordinary participants (Politics)
Go into Politics, become president in one month and leader of the New World Order in a couple of decades. President of the Celestial Parliament in a few decades...

Adept is already pretty much the apex of human skill in that field, but master is outright ridiculous! wage war on Entropy?! ADMINISTER METAPHYSICS?!

...The Politics feat for Master is just sad though. Outright depressing.

Panoply

[ ] Shimmer of Possibility [1 Heroic Favor] - That phantasmal light of infinite color, which is potential itself bestowed unto flesh.

Become the unique and irrevocable bearer of the Aurora Halo, refracted expression of limitless forms which span the continuums of abstract, spiritual, ethereal and material. Even a beginner's fumbling could manifest a handful of Chroma enhancements granting temporary augmentations on the level of "invulnerability to a specific element," while the delicate interplays evoked by a master can make of the wielder a god-chimera bestriding infinite realms.

The Aurora Halo represents mastery over form in all its expressions. All types, parameters, and principles of form fall within its purview; in theory virtually any effect imaginable can be achieved by its mastery, so long as it is manifest through the lens of self-transformation. From the shape of one's mortal vessel to the superstructure of one's oversoul, all can be altered as easily as shifting pictures on a carousel.

Transgression of form is the nature of monstrosity; your Heroic path will take you down avenues that cause you to be perceived as a monster, at least to some.

oh, here is the hero's shop!

Well, only two options available... but it's quality over quantity!

this is basically another path to omnipotence through self-transformation. as we can see in Bleach or MHA, you can basically justify any kind of power through the soul or the body anyway. Just give yourself the right quirk/Bankai/Soul Evocation... and that's at low levels.

Progression: Modest. Assuming near-optimal compounding of personal capabilities, mastery can be achieved with one century's strenuous exertion. Further acceleration of one's growth rate is somewhat possible, but difficult even with the abilities below. Each adept-level ability requires about a year to develop, though partial applications can be trained within weeks or even hours, at correspondingly lower total utility.

Beginner: Attune one's physical corpus to various elements, thereby becoming immune to harm from them. Increase or decrease one's height or muscle mass, though with obvious cosmetic imperfections. Emit blinding light from one's soul which repels and terrifies lesser hostile spirits. Grow and coordinate fully functional additional limbs. Overlay a template of wholeness upon one's body, attaining slow but total regeneration.

Adept: Attune to the fundamental nature of mass-energy, selectively phasing through all forms of physical interdiction or harm. Assume arbitrary biological templates within 100x mass-volume of one's original form. Emit memetic pheromones capable of dominating all physically instantiated minds regardless of substrate. Grow and coordinate fully functional additional brains and sleeve them, with near-arbitrary variations on personality, talent, physical capabilities, appearance. Overlay a template of perfection upon a facet of one's mental, physical or spiritual forms, becoming infallible within relevant fields given the bounds of conventional metaphysics.

Master: Assume arbitrary forms of any type; embody all concepts and none, as well as the duality between them. Assume a template of perfect upon the entire continuum of one's forms, becoming infallible and unassailable within conventional metaphysics. Remove the limits of one's growth in any field. Assume paradoxical, fanciful, or impossible forms. Besiege the Realm of Forms by encompassing all that it is not, breaking into achievements beyond conceptual definition. Manifest any Halo advancement or combination thereof, at will.

...so, one year of effort for effects such as selective immunity to harm, arbitrary shapeshifting (limited size) and perfect mind-control of any organic OR synthetic mind.

This also promises basically above omnipotence in a century.

...I kinda dislike it for some reason, though I'm not completely sure why. aestethics?
[ ] Special Dispensation [1 Heroic Favor] - It's not quite administrative privilege, but the Seraph's intercession can grant a semblance of that peerless power, the dream of fairness instantiated. And easier to use, to boot!

The dream of fairness is anathema to entrenched powers; in the pursuit of justice your Heroic path will see you encountering potent enemies over time.

Gain access to the Royal Praxis of the Accursed, with a special version of To Shatter Heaven applied which reduces the difficulty, rather than increasing the rewards, of further steps into the Praxis.

...Even with reduced difficulty, I'm still wary of taking the Praxis. I know myself, I'm just not the kind of person who'd go for that kind of effort.

Yeah, all things considered I'd probably go for something low-effort and high-reward.

Duchess Favour and stay in this Paradise for the next few quintillion years, slowly growing my powers enough so that once the Forebear leaves I might maybe leave for a low-power reality to rule (or just build my own small self-sufficient utopia).

a few cheap upgrades combined with Return to go back to my life, except better in every way that matters...

EDIT: ...madoka magica? somehow I didn't expect this.

I wonder, maybe I could take mental powers, find Madoka and suggest to her the perfect wish? It sounds like the easiest way to cheat the system

I must say, without Provisions The Overlord is kind of whack. To even use up all the gifts you get you basically have to personally choose a world then go Heir+Genius+Mandarin/Forester. Or just choose to stay I guess. Very little build variety in this regard.
