So it was that he took to the festivities with uncharacteristic cheer; caroling about the tree, partaking heavily of food and drink, helping to lay out milk and cookies for the mighty Saint Nicklaus,

The mind boggles at the thought. When are we getting the Ulyssian Christmas caroling songfic interlude, Rihaku? How could you cut it off before the best part???

If the children of Earth do not receive Artifact weaponry and instruction manuals on compatible Terrestrial Martial Arts, I'm going to be very sad. Christmas is supposed to be fun!

Ulyssian talking to every parent on Earth:

Quick Transmigration Record of Cursebearer Fodder's Record of Resistance Pt. 7

The Purple Zones, as the name suggested, were worlds heavily inundated with Purple Color magic, in all its various shades. The denizens were predominantly Purple as well; a weaker creature remaining for too long could easily be corrupted by the ambient power, while the powerful of different colors preferred to remain in their respective zones for the most part. Seralize, though bearing her own Purple, was not naturally attuned to such and could not stay indefinitely. Remaining for a fourth of every day would reach the current limit of her tolerance. Assimilating that power and dying it in her own shade sped her accumulation noticeably, but she was there primarily to observe and form new conceptual links, and so observe she did. Her invisibility was even stronger in a place where light was primarily purple, and in the early days of her exploration she roamed, purely observing the myriad of life in this place. Relatively normal animals tinted purple, for one, but also moving whorls of a dark and dense Purple, elementals of a kind, and the rare creature who had become sapient through its accumulations, many times greater than a usual member of its kind.

Soon enough though, Seralize decided that mere observation was not enough to truly mimic the uniqueness of each of these beings. She needed to do more. Sufficiently powerful specimens that she could have challenging combats against were somewhat difficult to find at times, but she persevered, and their demises fed the growth of her power further. One day, however, as she casually regaled Su Chen with tales of her latest trip, he made a suggestion.

"You're trying to mimic the talents of these purple creatures, with your own power which is strongly related to theirs, right?"

"Yeah, though it's more about conceptually linking what they can do in my mind with the source of my power."

"Maybe you haven't really studied human history or cultivation theory, but that seems exactly like what bloodline Origin Qi skills are meant to do. You could look into how those are developed and get some inspiration?"

Though Su Chen's status was quite low, as the Su clan still believed he was blind, he still had enough authority to procure several introductory tomes on anatomy and cultivation theory. Through these, she learned of the basics of dissection and some of the workings of Origin Qi Techniques. On her next trip in, she slew one of the ever-present rodents and began to take it apart. This breed had a strange trait: they could elude spiritual senses, but not physical ones. She never had an instinct for their presence, but they were easy to spot. Regrettably, this seemed not to be a physical talent, and she did not glean much from the process.

Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the hunting and dissections aside, soon enough it had been three years since Su Chen's blinding and Seralize's entry into the world, and the annual Su clan evaluation rolled around. Su Chen hardly cared for the portion of Verdant Wood Essence awarded to the winner, infused with Seralize's energy as he had been, so he skipped this as well. The next one, however, would determine who would be permitted to attend the decennial Hidden Dragon Institute exams. As the Hidden Dragon Institute was the best Origin Qi Scholar school of Long Sang Country, he could ignore all of the Su Clan's enticements, but he had to get in. While Northface City had a mere four Yang Opening cultivators, each a clan head with a mixed bloodline who could not progress further, and around twenty or fewer Blood Boiling realm elders, most of the graduates from the Hidden Dragon Institute had reached Blood Boiling realm, and many of the instructors were Light Shaking cultivators; there would be much of use there. The exam itself would be one of combat, eliminating other examinees for points, and so Su Chen decided it would be necessary to gain some combat experience in the year he had. None of his generation could contest him, as they had not even managed to break through to Qi Drawing realm yet, so he would enter the Scarlet Mountain. With Seralize guarding him, it would be safe enough.

Seralize has gained the Hide Presence technique from mimicry of the Purple Zones' endemic rodents. It dampens her presence to supernatural senses but does nothing to mundane detection. If she can study the means by which they achieve their stealth, this technique may be improved. Additionally, pick two other techniques that she derived.

[ ] Amaranthine Flame: The dragons of the Purple Zones are mostly unintelligent, but they spit a special flame that sticks to their prey, usually weakening it enough for them to swoop in and feast. Seralize has dissected one and uncovered the glands within their throats that they use to do so. She can now create a purple-tinged napalm-like substance, already ignited, from her hands and mouth. It will persist up to six hours initially, likely beyond the full duration of any given combat. She may also dispel it with a touch.

[ ] Poison: The assassin's best friend. Seralize may generate a cocktail of poisons mimicked from various sources at will from any portion of her body. Additionally, she is now immune to any poison she has mimicked, and highly resistant to any poisons with similar effects. Initially, she has unlocked the effects of sleep, paralysis, numbness, blindness, and necrosis. Initially, these persist up to one day. They may be dispelled at will, as long as they are still within her sensory range. Potency scales both with her power level and number of poisons with a given effect that she has mimicked.

[ ] Energy Beam: Simple stuff. The elementals of the Purple Zones' primary means of combat is firing condensed color energies at their foes, and Seralize has learned how to do so herself. Unlocks more ranged applications, like conveying buffs via range or creating beams of substances she knows how to create.

[ ] Fog of Fear: One denizen of the Purple Zones releases an opaque gas that causes panic to hunt; Seralize can now do the same. Range scales inversely with duration; the substance will last a full day at a meter from Seralize, half a day at two meters, a second at 86.4 kilometers. Unlocks conveyance of other effects via fog, and other mental influence applications.

[ ] Body Enhancement Specialization: Seralize will mimic certain creatures in order to specialize her body enhancement. May be picked multiple times, one suboption per time.

-[ ] Flight: Soaring above dragons and birds. Seralize may manifest wings upon her back in order to fly. This is not wholly mundane flight; she is less effected by gravity and the winds do not batter as fiercely, unless she wishes to be. Initial speed is about a fourth of her land speed and can be improved via training. Unlocks "wingless" flight later on. More accurately, invisible-wings flight. The wings can also serve as a third pair of limbs to strike with in combat.

-[ ] Speed: Bursts of speed and alacrity. Seralize draws from ambush predators in order to amplify her acceleration tenfold and doubles her sustained speed, on top of her existing bodily enhancements. Her mind accelerates such that this is not difficult to control; her bodily enhancements now grant a small amount of Wits as well. Additionally, she can improve the magnitude of her bodily enhancements by a fifth by halving their sustained duration, up to ten times. Unlocks similar magnitude amplification for other applications.

-[ ] Power: Brute strength to shatter mountains and overturn seas. Seralize mimics the musculature of both giant creatures and those disproportionately strong. Every strike imparts triple the force, and in sustained efforts, Seralize's effective Strength will be multiplied by ten. This applies to actions such as lifting heavy objects and locking blades with opponents. Opponents are somewhat less likely to attempt trickery in combat, in respect to the valiance exuded. Additionally, the duration of her bodily enhancements is tripled, and the magnitude no longer decays over time without constant effort. Unlocks similar sustainability for other applications.

[Se] Body Enhancement Specialization
-[Ra] Flight
[Lize] Poison

Flight's important as a status symbol and to combat peer level opponents while poison provides significant nonlethal utility. We might be able to leverage it into manufacturing medicine due to something something the dose.

Wait... Mountain Hero became Ulyssian's Sasuke? What sorcery is this?! Also, it's confirmed: the Accursed is Santa himself, and the entire Rihakuverse is just an elaborate piece of Exalted fanfiction. I knew it all along.

Hero smiled grimly. "So that our resistance would be wholly purposeless either way. Typical of you."
Exaltation or no, Uly's allergic to fair fights. He hasn't changed that much. In any case, this was a pleasure to reread. The backdrop of the World of Darkness only makes the happiness and heartwarming antics of Most High's cast more appealing. I hope everyone's holidays are at least a fraction as fun!
Which would make the Accursed literally Santa by certain definitions.
Well, he does keep granting people the power of unrestricted Progression. Absent the Brand of the Champion, Remittances can just be straight-up gifts!
Huh. Sad that Lealope doesn't seem to be with them, she was cool. Uly/Moon is okay, but Lea is the one I was actually introduced to. Did she die?
Moon is more than merely okay, thank you very much! But the snippet doesn't specify. We know from Most High that Lea was at war with the Handsome Monkey King, though, which is hardly the safest of activities. He was capable of challenging Odyssial in the Tournament For the Fairest (speaking of Fair fights) and in the centuries since had become greater still. We don't know what became of Serenity's greatest surviving Chosen either, but word-count remains a limited resource.
did... did uly finally get a clue!?

the biggest twist of them all
Looks like it took direct intervention from Nilul. Even the Princess of Lies can only stomach so much avoidance of obvious truths!
edit: Honestly the real question is how he managed to eat all the Christmas cookies left out for him!
In true Christmas spirit, my guess is he managed with a little help from his friends. Hero in particular seems the sort to be a cookie monster; restraining the blossom of the Perfected Lotus is hungry work.

Probably going to have to wait until next time. Since the Evening Realm is basically 'inside' the Cloak, I'm pretty sure we don't need to worry about the low-end Cloak-related Enhancements being available next time.

I wonder how much Arete we've got now? If it's over 6 we might need to seriously considering grabbing Mental Apex/Sealing Protocol for further increasing Grace-learning/power.

Fandom Color Derivates

Ocean of Learning - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

The source of natural life is generally agreed to be the ocean, or meteorites from space. The sky, in other words. Thus, the source of all life is frequently associated with blue, even though red and green are the colors most commonly tied to life. This extends to knowledge as well, because what is knowledge without someone to know it? Nothing.

The quest for knowledge has been an ever-present one, begun when the first being wondered 'Why?' when they came upon a peculiar substance or behavior, frequently from looking up at the stars and wondering why they were there.

Gain Progression speed in magical systems based on knowledge of them. Knowing the inner workings of a type of magic will drastically accelerate attaining skill and power in it. Knowledge of other magic systems applies a bonus, but at a severe penalty, due to cross-application of theoretical workings, and in time, competing ontologies.

Alchemical Transmutation - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

Yellow is the color of creation, where gold is wealth and order and white is purity and all-encompassing.

The conversion of an element to another is a simple matter of adding or removing protons. Simple does not equate to easy, of course, but it occurs in the billions in every major galaxy, as fusing light elements into heavier ones is something a star must do to be considered a star. Alchemists long attempted to replicate this, even before knowledge that this occurred in nature was obtained. The classical pursuit of transmuting lead into gold. Of course, this would have crashed the economies of the time, as they relied on the worth of gold, and much of it's value is derived from rarity. An example of how the pursuit can be better than the goal, as their pursuit lead to many discoveries.

Hunger gains the ability to change elements into those one place further along or behind on the periodic table. Helium could be converted into Hydrogen, or Lithium. In time, this can advance into outright changing any element into another. This does not directly grant the elements any magic, but it may make them eligible or ineligible for magics. This ability does not change mass, so a kilogram of lead will become a kilogram of gold, with associated changes in size and density.

Greedy For Skill - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

Is it greed or pride that motivates a person to climb higher? On the one hand, they wish for more, often when they have enough to get by. On the other hand, they may well be spurred on by competition. Regardless, this Enhancement takes that skill, and pushes it along. This is not a boon to progress, nor to power, but to skill. Nothing more, and nothing less. If it is impossible for you to slice through the boundaries of space and time with your blade, because no amount of skill will let you focus your power in such a manner, then this Enhancement is useless for such an endeavor. Few things cannot be accomplished with sufficient skill, however. Praxis is proof of that.

Hunger's mundane skills, such as swordsmanship, gain a multiplier based on how proficient he is with them. A novice-level skill would be perhaps 10% greater. A master would grow an order or magnitude. A paragon such as one who could access Sword Praxis through sheer mastery would find themselves a thousand times more proficient.

Healing Silver - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

Silver has long been believed to have healing properties, and indeed, even mundane silver possesses anti-biotic properties, and is one of the few metals which does not tarnish. Many healing spells are white or silvery as well. Hunger can gain an aspect of this resistance to corrosion.

Hunger gains accelerated healing of most personal Conditions sufficient to reduce the time to recover by half, and he can share this with his companions should he be willing to dilute the effect. Effect applied at one tenth strength to Panopoly. That is, if healing would require 20 days, time is reduced to 19 instead.

Illusory Shadows - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

The shadows are where assassins and thieves skulk. The shadows are usually their graves as well. Their relationship with the shadows is somewhat tenuous for this reason. They rely on the shade to cloak them, but it will betray them on day, and they know it. But what if you could make your own shadows? Shadows that would be born and die by your will and yours alone? Of course, they do not offer the same protection as true darkness, but they possess something it does not. Loyalty.

Hunger gains access to illusions. The less the target knows about Hunger, the more potent the illusions are. Misinformation will strengthen them further. Making them think Hunger wields an ax in place of a sword, for example. This magic is unusually difficult to turn against Hunger or his allies.

Accepting Blank Canvas - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

A blank canvas is one of the most frustrating things an artist might face. A bizarre form of choice paralysis often befalls them, the sheer potential making the act of creation more difficult. The canvas does not mind. Even a truly terrible creation is fine, because the act of creation adds something. Even foul ones do not, in and of themselves remove more than they create. Hunger might be able to glean something from this.

Various unpleasant side effects of other Enhancements mitigated slightly. Penalties from incompatible Enhancements reduced by 25%, or one step along the ISH, whichever is lesser. Additionally, Mental Contamination is reduced by 25% in strength. The Canvas accepts all, because it is never truly overwritten. Not completely.

Disruptive Corrupted Seals - 2 Picks, 25 Arete.

The knowledge of sealing inherently comes with the knowledge of unsealing. If you create a seal that locks an entity, energy, or person away, then you also know how to break that lock. The greatest seals are more akin to entire prison complexes than the individual cells of the basic ones. However, it is easiest to seal away parts of oneself over anything else. Parts one might reject or wish to avoid, parts that cause pain, or parts that are simply inconvenient. Take care that you do not reduce yourself to a machine.

Hunger gains the ability to break and apply seals to himself. This can take the form of training aids, sealing portions of his power so that he might gain more from spars and Evening Realm fights. Seals are difficult to break in combat-relevant timeframes, but self-applied seals can always be broken by oneself, unless active effort is made to prevent this. Mental Contamination that reaches the point of noticeably altering one's behavior runs the risk of causing personality splits or rapidly compounding when using this ability.

AN: I did it for canon Color Magics, why not the ones I made up? Got one more Omake out before the next update, but I'm pretty sure Ody's Threadmark reset the counter.

The Provinces, Roused

The winner was [X] Foment Rebellion by a heavy margin with [X] Vigor Incarnate by a hair. Hunger's hunt was exceptionally successful (rolled a 97!), granting 3 additional picks and 1 additional Arete, though no single enemy yielded more than 2 picks.

What was the nature of the potential allies Hunger encountered? Choose one. The options unchosen may not exist in-universe.
I'm a bit surprised by Foment winning, but then again Rihaku later clarified that it actually has better chances of working. On the other hand it takes more time, and TIME is, in the end, the second most valuable currency (Slightly behind Arete, and maybe picks)

the 97 is VERY nice though. Let's see, maybe we'll find a fourth companion for our party! If they don't lose their powers once we take the ring they could be useful!

nothing to say about Vigor Incarnate. It's a good choice, and patches our Protection hole in the build.

Now Iridescence and Pearlescence are definitely more attractive, though I don't remember if we ever took the required basic opalescence.

On the other hand the -scence might not be necessary, as we already have a protective aura of ruin... it depends on how they combine together

Nice about the 3 picks and 1 arete too. I nearly forgot to mention them!

[ ] The Silver Horde - Those who near the end of their allotted span are placed under heavy surveillance, their ability to organize gradually curtailed and denied the light of the Ring. This greatly-suppressed band of malcontents-by-necessity has found each other in the chaos and would like nothing more than to overthrow the regime that mandates their death. Their motive is purely (enlightened... ?) self-interest, but they will fight ardently all the same, for their very lives are literally at stake.

Combat Strength: Modest. Denied the light for some years, their powers are on the wane.

Cost: 0 picks. Hunger did not have to waste any time picking up this force. They found him and volunteered.

*You get what you pay for. Literal geriatrics are only relevant due to their Soul Evocations.
*They can maybe distract one or two Immortals temporarily.
*Modest knowledge of the Inner Ring.

"You get what you pay for" indeed. I'll try to avoid this option if possible.

[ ] Who Walked Away - Even in the sheltered Inner Ring, there are those who discovered the truth of the Ring's torment, especially among they who have had extensive contact with former Outriders. While most were capable of ignoring the moral implications of the Call, some principled individuals could not help but take a stand. They were swiftly crushed and imprisoned, but Hunger diverted his hunt to open these holding cells, releasing these idealistic dissenters. While many are barely better than chaff in the face of the Marshalls, they are lead by Lady Aristeia Fairbright, whose might even contained was the stuff of legend. Though her powers have been drained by the Council's horrific experiments, she remains a force to be reckoned with, capable of matching a High Marshall in single combat.

Combat Strength: Significant. Aristeia Fairbright is only moderately weaker than Hunger himself. Blood enhancements can augment her significantly. Her followers are useful for causing general pandemonium, though they are hesitant to employ violence against the innocent. One or two might be Marshal-level.

*Another f**king Fairbright
*Very good value for what you pay
*Fairbright Bloodline can buff Hunger, temporarily increasing his own effectiveness in combat as well
*This squad of naive fools is focused on doing what's right to an almost impractical degree, but Hunger can respect that. +Mental Stability.
*Minimal knowledge of the Inner Ring, but a few strategically valuable pieces of data.

Cost: 1 pick, 1 Arete.

I'm now a bit sad about ignoring the previous Fairbright lady...

Much better than the previous option, we get at least a couple of relevant fighters, and a blood-buffed Fairbright should be a valuable asset.

mh.. I wonder, how long will it take us to ennoble the whole population before we leave? What if we also included the people from the Middle Ring? we WILL have to spend a few days here at the very least I think, though hopefully we'll be able to make them productive.

[ ] Larissa of House Alynne - Mighty House Alynne has been marginalized by recent maneuvers in the Council. Their leader, Lady Larissa, was enraptured by Hunger's brooding magnetism and threw in with him after some convincing. In a fit of opportunistic spite they have raised the flag of rebellion alongside Hunger's incursion. Though she is not personally formidable, Larissa Alynne commands House forces numbering dozens of Marshals, as well as High Marshal Wyvernford and two additional Soul Evokers of equivalent power used to conduct off-the-books operations.

Combat Strength: High. High Marshal Wyvernford alongside the remainder of the Alynne forces might be a match for one to two Immortals on their own, should they receive blood enhancement. Additionally, House Alynne is well-acquainted with the infrastructure of the Inner Ring and would be most suited of the allies on offer to organize an evacuation in the event of Dimensional Rift destabilization.

Cost: 2 picks. Convincing Larissa was not difficult, but it was time-consuming, and not killing Wyvernford leaves Ring-granted power on the table.

*An option unlocked by having 10+ Charisma
*Setting a bad example for Letrizia
*Larissa might get clingy before she is inevitably crushed by Gisena
*House Alayn can spearhead reorganization in the wake of the Ring's departure, making exfiltration smooth and easy, and civilian casualties minimized
*Extremely in-depth information of existing Inner Ring defenses, including (outdated) tactical data on some of the Immortals themselves.
*They also know where the Temple's cache of precious metals & other resources is located, and can save them in time for the Rift. Plenty of currency for everyone!

---

Underlined and bolded a couple of lines for hilariousness.

Lots of mentions of the Dimensional Rift. That might be important :V

Well, I have no interest in the Geriatrics, so it's either this or the Fairbright Lady (which at this point I sort of hope might become a companion). I'm currently slightly in favour of Fairbright, but it's a VERY slight preference, and it might change depending on the picks below too.

You have 3 picks and ~6.1 Arete, minus any picks and Arete spent above. You may spend up to 2 extra Arete, entering Arete Debt if the amount generated does not cover that. As a reminder, you should only take Augment Dominion: Blood if you want to save the picks now and spend them later, as it does not stack with Crimson Flare's Rank bonus to Blood manipulation. Note that the high number of available Stances means you may not necessarily need picks here to get a substantial improvement in combat strength.
eh, with the clarification Augment Dominion loses its appeal to me.

Well, let's see the picks

- 0-pick options -

All Martial Stances cost 7 Arete.

[ ] Magic-Defeating Stance - A Martial Stance of the Forebear. Grants high-grade defensive effect nullification against all hostile effects of supernatural origin, and quintuples the power of Ruin for purposes of cutting through enemy magics. Mitigate all Curses an additional half step beyond the first. This Stance is permanently active until switched for another [Type]-Defeating Stance. One of the pre-requisites for All-Defeating Stance. You may have [Rank/2, rounded down] Stances active at one time.

[ ] World-Defeating Stance - A martial stance of the Forebear. Forces natural and premeditated; forces unnatural and obscene - it matters not to the cause of the Forebear, whose march is steady and inevitable, carrying all before it. A billion realms brought to heel and countless more razed to ash, systems of the world in kaleidoscopic arrangement and all bent to his will. Meaningless as escape may be, more futile still is dissent: an enemy is just a future subject, and though they may forget the face of their fathers, the Forebear's visage is burned indelibly into their spirits.

If the user possesses all of the other [Type]-Defeating Stances, upgrades into All-Defeating Stance.

+.2 Rank, ++Luck, ++Intelligence, ++Protection

++++++Protection further against environmental harms, including from incompatible or hostile physics and metaphysics.
*Shelters wielder's powers from suppression or negation, even that resulting from a lack of magic or magical structures within the world.
*5x Power of Ruin against non-supernatural foes or phenomena beyond an human's ability to defeat.

[ ] Weapon-Defeating Stance - A martial stance of the Forebear. He who would presume to wield force of arms against the Forebear dooms himself to inescapable plight, and well-deserved. No blade that crosses the Forebear's can help but shatter before its unbound might; neither fist nor bolt nor meteor strike can impel its steely aegis. A pre-requisite for All-Defeating Stance.

+++++AGI, +++++Might
5x Power of Ruin to sunder, intercept or destroy all weapons, natural or constructed
+++++Protection against all weapons, natural or constructed

[ ] Hero-Defeating Stance - A Martial Stance of the Forebear. ++Might, ++Agility, +Wisdom, +0.2 external Rank. Halve the effects of enemy Rank if it is greater than your own. Halve the effects of being outnumbered, if you are outnumbered. This Stance is permanently active until switched for another [Enemy]-Defeating Stance. A pre-requisite for Foe-Defeating Stance. You may have [Rank/2, rounded down] Stances active at one time.

mh.. all stances are good. I'd avoid Hero-defeating because it doesn't feed on All-defeating.

I'd probably go with either Magic (to deal with soul evocations), or World-defeating (the 0.2 rank is also nice to improve blood buffs even more, and we could all use some more luck...). I think BOTH should be able to help deal with the Dimensional rift and time manipulation, but Magic might be better to also protect our allies..

- 1-pick options -

[ ] Forebear's Blade - Echo of the Forebear
- Cloud-shadow of the Forebear's might.
Legendary strength and speed, and the resilience to exert them. Can be taken multiple times. [+Might, +Agility]

[ ] The Ring of Power - Dominion - 2 Arete
A ring of power does not exert influence casually. It has its own will, its own preferences, and if that will should be inseparable from its owner's, its sway thereby shall be greater for it.

The available domains for Hunger are: War, Passion

[ ] Fierce Quickening
- The absurd violence of Blood unleashed. Let all that falls within its dominion be spilled, if it be in service to the Ringbearer. Adds [++Agility, +Wits] to the bonuses from Quickening, subject to the usual conditions. Can be taken up to 3 times.

[ ] Augment Dominion: Blood - The world-wielding will of the Ring.
Treat the wielder's Rank as if it were (.5 Low/.25 Medium/.1 High) higher for purposes of the [Ring of Power] effect applied to the Blood domain, increasing its potency and versatility. Repeatable, but costs 1 more pick each time.

[ ] Exalted Spirit - 2 Arete. Conjunctional [Hunger, Evening Sky]. Mind made vigorous as the body. Gain +Int, +Wits, +Wis, +Cha, -Heartlessness, while in a form with physical blood. Allies under blood enhancement gain +Int, +Cha. Blood enhancement requires physical blood.

[ ] Evening Sky - Opalescence - The soft light of evening before which all attacks falter.
+Protection, improving defensive parameters.

[ ] Evening Sky - Iridescence - 2 Arete - The sharp light of the stars before which all malice is lessened.
+Protection, +Charisma. Expands the range of effects subject to the Evening Sky, allowing it to passively weaken almost all forms of magic. Even Nullity itself can be once withstood before the Sky recedes. Requires Opalescence.

[ ] Evening Sky - Pearlescence - 7 Arete - Woe unto they who would stand against the bearer of Evening, for all the stars in heaven are their enemies, and the moon above as well.
+++Protection, and the protection granted by the Evening Sky now automatically scales to its wearer's power; effectively, the wearer is granted an additional Experience modifier whose output is automatically applied to the Evening Sky. Requires Iridescence.
same old same old.

let's ignore the -scence, we already have power of ruin working on magical effects, and 7 arete are probably more efficient on a stance rather than pearlescence anyway.

Exalted Spirit is a good pick, and would strenghten the blood buffs even more, which is pretty good with either of the decent support options.

Actually, Dominion War + Exalted Spirit might not be a bad idea, especially if the rank from war works for blood buffs too (empowering our soldiers might count as war buff), but it's a pretty modest buff all things considered.

yeah, I'd say I like Exalted Spirit a lot in this situation, I'd take it if possible.. but let's see the 2 pick options first.

- 2-pick options -

[ ] Forebear's Blade - Iron Maelstrom - 2 Arete
- In the storm of war he was as a cloud-piercing pillar.
+++Protection, ++Might to yourself and your allies so long as you stand undefeated. Extremely useful in group combat. Unlocks additional options.

mh.. in the short term my impression is that Exalted Spirit might be slightly better for our situation. Both together would be even better, but we don't really have enough picks (unless we pick the crap reinforcement option, which I DON'T WANT).
[ ] Heartpiercer - 7 Arete - Blood tells. The Ringbearer listens.
+++CHA, ++AGI, +++++Strength. The wielder embodies the glory of blood, and the savage beauty of its dominion sets hearts to beating. He gains an unusually affinity for striking weak points, and his bloodsense is refined to the degree that he can predict the movements of his enemies by the shifting of their capillaries. Grants a major effectiveness boost in physical or romantic duels (1v1) against beings with corporeal blood, and a minor bonus in physical and romantic conflicts of any kind against such beings.

...romantic duels?

Still, while Heartpiercer is pretty good I'd rather spend that arete on one stance instead.

Currently I'm in favour of one of world or magic defeating stance, and exalted spirit. If we have a second pick I might exchange Exalted Spirit for Iron Maelstrom (or add dominion war or fierce quickening), or take both if we have 3 picks (which I hope we won't).

Man im so happy we finally got Honing. Im really looking forward to new Blood Advancements.

Now to get Iridescence and Exalted Spirits..
Hopefully we'll get them when they are bundled with shinier stuff, like Pearlescence or Lunar Coronet. It may even happen sooner now for Exalted Spirit now that Honing is a lock.

Would you pay 3P9A for Pearlescence?

And I think Lunar Coronet would be 2P9A.

Given our plan to tour the Human Realm and bait (?) Armament fights, I think it'll be a tough sell to invest in nation-scale building projects like Lunar Coronet. Thread wants to hit robots with our sword. Pearlescence is an easier sell tbh, but it's been crippled by revealing the blurb in an early episode before the power creep really set in
