46/118. I wonder how many have reacted to MORE updates than me by now...

Still can't see the light at the end of the tunnel
Vertiginous Heights

The winning vote is [X] Zweihander, [X] Upgrade Letrizia's Magic System and [X] Check Up on Gisena.

Letrizia informs Hunger that she has discovered the Elixir residents are hiding the existence of certain children and teenagers who have developed a set of powers they refer to as High Elementalism. With a cursory examination of their blood, Hunger sees how to replicate this effect in both Letrizia and himself. The only other component needed is a large sample of apex-grade Elixir Springs water, which can be gotten at any 5-Star Elixir resort. They're unlikely to be happy with the consumption of so much apex-grade water, but the Sovereignty will just have to deal. Hunger decides to scope out the available resorts with Gisena; which do they end up deciding on?

I'm now imagining the stereotypical old man, except he's mage

"ptooey. When I was your age there was no imaginary elements. We had the old good classical elements, and it worked just fine. Not this newfangled soulfire or lucklight. What's wrong with normal fire and light anyway?!"

.. actually, couldn't we have sold an "awakening" service for magical powers? they give us the water and some money, and we give them the power.

Easy. I wonder if anyone thought of it at the time?

Hunger currently has 10 currency units, each representing roughly a quarter's wages for a middle-class worker in the Empire.
so we have the equivalent of 40 months of wages for the current kills? Not bad.

[ ] The Streamline - A relatively bare-bones resort whose focus is on simple quality of water. The overall accommodations, accoutrements and food service are barely on the level of a 3-star resort, but their root access to apex-grade springs and beautiful skyline views elevate them to the ranks of 5-star. The 'cheap' 5-star, for those who need healing at a somewhat affordable cost. 2 currency units for two nights.

the cheap reasonable option.
[ ] The Kaguya - A breathtakingly meticulous recreation of the traditional Eastern hot-springs style, situated amongst the most extravagantly opulent accommodations to grace the entire Sovereignty. You may choose to enjoy apex-grade waters fed directly from the root springs while lounging in the sybaritic luxury of your royal-grade suite, or venture into the handcrafted public baths to soak in restorative warmth while drinking in the unspoiled landscape below. Situated upon the slopes of the highest mountain peak, sheltered from wintry frost by the vivacious steam of the core pools, the Kaguya promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience of truly imperial grandeur. Gaze upon the snow-dusted evergreens and crystal-bright streams of this pristine wilderness while savoring the greatest culinary delights that the Sovereignty can bring to bear. 8 currency units for two nights.

There is absolutely no mechanical benefit whatsoever for taking the Kaguya, not even +Relationships, because Gisena and Letrizia aren't shallow like that! Staff at the Kaguya may be somewhat more accommodating of extreme water usage, though it will likely attract attention either way. Take care, this choice may have more implications than are immediately apparent.

goes searching for "sybaritic"...

Rihaku introduces me to new words relatively often :V

also "the greatest culinary delights that the Sovereignty can bring to bear."

...I'm now imagining roasted bear asses. for some unknown reason...

Still, I'm tempted by the Kaguya. Our party deserves a small break, and we might find interesting rich contacts interested in offering their own side-quests.

Also if we stay here a bit more and defeat the rotbeast this should end up being chump change.

---

Choose your Imaginary Element. Letrizia's Element will be revealed afterwards.

[ ] 2 Arete Version - Reduce all Attribute/Rank benefits by 70%, remove all Arete discounts, increase by 400% the difficulty / time requirement of esoteric applications and reduce by one half-step the theoretical limits of the Element's abilities. The effectiveness of blasts, voids and shields of the element is largely unaffected.
[ ] 7 Arete Version - As written.

...yeah, I'm probably going to want the 7 arete version, though I suppose it depends on the elements itself
[ ] Quickwater: The moon-graced elixir of formless clarion, whose dewdrops are stars and mist the constellation, its falling rain the cosmos come plunging to earth. In its simplest form, a fog of quickwater conveys pitiless, whimsical speed, swiftness like an ink-blur trail. Dimmed, it conveys the quiet speed of an assassin's moon; heightened, it scours vision away like ten thousand blazing suns. Congealed into tenuous solidity, its potions may confer all manner of transformation, many of them swiftly lethal. Take care when wielding its ten thousand variations, for it acknowledges neither liege nor master, only the primacy of the moment.

Hunger's imaginary Element is determined by his practicality. He requires immediate power and access to esoteric effects; this provides both.

Quickwater mist grants +50% AGI, +.1 Rank, and a degree of concealment to its creator when within its bounds; increasing density over time can improve this to +100% AGI, +.25 Rank with preparation. A symmetrical Rank penalty is applied to others inside, including allies. Bonuses can be further developed with training.
~Quickwater potions can be imbibed for similar effect, but require constant effort to stabilize in coherent liquid form.
~Variations currently available: Assassin's Mist provides ++++Stealth instead of Rank; Blinding Mist grants exceptional "concealment" by outputting enormous quantities of light. Mist type may be switched every moonrise, or potions concocted in advance, though with the usual stipulations. Some means of overcoming sleep may be necessary to keep potions stable through the night...
~Experimentation can yield vast varieties of different mist with varying effects. The transformations of Quickwater are as endless as the realm of dreams. Take care that you do not wander into the distaff plane of nightmare.

mh.. yeah there's the immediate power (agility is after all our most important physical stat), but I don't actually "feel" this.

I don't like it. It's boring.

I suppose that fits practicality, funnily enough.
[ ] Inksky: Nothing less than the semi-sentient symbiotic substance of the Evening Sky itself. With this, the mantle's power is amplified threefold: suffused at a greater density, it provides more overall benefits; with its master capable of healing it, it can swiftly regenerate from depletion; and through the crude manipulation of High Elementalism it can be brought to bear as lash or aegis against one's enemies, curling around to stifle, trip, smother and crush.

Hunger's Imaginary Element is determined by his panoply.

Single Receptacle
: Rather than firing blasts of inksky himself, Hunger manifests all instances of High Elementalism through the vessel of the Evening Sky, allowing it to benefit from Accretion. +100% to the Protection and Charisma granted by the Evening Sky. Unlocks a number of highly efficient Evening Sky Advancements dealing with the domains of space, night, majesty and magic.

Discounts Pillars of Creation by 5 Arete.
-Hunger may take an action to repair the Evening Sky; amount repairs depends on the total +Protection granted and his own ability in High Elementalism
-Hunger may directly manipulate the Evening Sky as an extra appendage, though control is crude until trained.
With time, the cloak could expand to truly cosmic size: become the evening sky in truth!

MINE!

sure, we're not really using protection that much, and charisma is actually a nerfed stat... but they can STILL be useful, and a +100% to both plus all the potential advancements from the sinergy are certainly worth it.

Also, 5 ARETE DISCOUNT ON MY FAVOURITE EFB! Which is, by the way, the best third EFB to get (maybe even second, though I think Ruling Ring beats it for second... except it requires a LOT of prerequisite picks...)

to be fair though, let's see the third one first...
[ ] Edeldross: This precursor component of findross embodies redemption, perfection, restoration and the renewal of cycles. It is the liminal gloss between real and ideal, whereby the purposeless matter of the corporeal world becomes the refined substrate of supernal augmentation. Blasts, voids and shields of solidified edeldross convey the principle of 'transference without harm,' allowing the character to re-position allies and scatter enemies with minimal possibility of collateral damage. Kinetic flight is possible through continuous burst releases, but its greatest benefits are found in augmentation. Pure edeldross is semi-corporeal and swiftly fades beneath the withering indifference of the real, but contained within a person's body it holistically augments all elements of the self, supernal excellence beyond the reach of the mundane.

Though mastery is a long and arduous process, precise configurations of Edeldross can be arranged so as to replicate nearly one-tenth of all Sorcerous Graces.

Hunger's Imaginary Element is determined by his relationships. Gisena's art, shaped by Letrizia's language and technique, conferring Catherine's benevolence. +Gisena, +Letrizia, +Catherine (?)

Discounts Total Eclipse by 1 Arete
-Solidified edeldross can be used as a form of damage-preventing energy blast, which, while unable to slay enemies on its own, can be actively spammed due to its negation of harm. Can ablate away to cancel equivalent quantities of Nullity, allowing for easy combat alongside Gisena with a bit of practice. Pacify a city undergoing a zombie apocalypse with a minimum of innocent life lost, scatter both sides in a pitched battle without slaying any of their number, etc.
-Beings within the radius of a release of pure edeldross receive a 20% bonus to all Attributes. The magnitude of this bonus can be improved over time. Take care not to buff your enemies as well. Pure edeldross is considerably more draining to use.
-By working with Gisena's mage-sight, Hunger may slowly over time develop specific Patterns of edeldross that can temporary replicate the effects of various Sorcerous Graces. Perhaps developments even further than this can be achieved in time...
mh.. this seems like a different path to the findross singularity, and the bit about relationships and Catherine is intriguing... It also looks a lot like the element of limited collateral damage...

And yet, while I wouldn't be annoyed at this winning, I STILL prefer the Inksky.

Findross or nothing, accept no substitute!

So, uh. King of Winter is even better than I previously assumed. Guys, let's not ignore the opportunity to literally cut the majority of incoming damage to a quarter.
With respect, the 1/4 damage is how I was reading the situation already and I believe that my argument holds even under this stronger interpretation.

  • Increase Health, Damage Resistance, Condition Resistance by 75%
    • Powerful synergies with ADS, which gets a boost to the ablative defense and then any damage or effect that makes it through is reduced by a factor of 4

In terms of combat, Crimson Flare has a similar effect: "mere physical harm now can never overcome the regenerative power of the Ring." This pairs with Outer Shadow's ability to ignore wound penalties and improves a strategy that we have already used several times. From the fight with Avecarn where he punches through Hunger's abs to the fight with Procyon where Hunger face-tanked several punches, combat regeneration has kept us going through a lot. There's an added benefit of increasing the rate of recovery outside of battle for both Hunger & companions. If we are in a long-term campaign, fast healing will help the party bounce back between each confrontation.

I don't want to downplay the value of KoW here. Quartering damage is an amazing value for a build that wants to punch Armaments. Despite the massive PROT from Cloak of Sky (and Armor of Midnight) we still take damage from weapons that are boosted with Astral energy. Quartering damage that sneaks through is also a good way to take advantage of Hunger's massive health bar.

I'm saying that both options provide an increase in our survival parameters. KoW is more focused on individual-level confrontations, but CF does not completely neglect that issue.

[ ] Curse of the Laughing Sun and Bloody Moon.

-Sometimes, your presence alone is enough to change things. There is no guarantee whether that change is for good or ill beyond your own intentions. Even then...

This Curse is unusual, in that it can, on occasion, be directly beneficial, though this is dependent on the world in question. The Laughing Sun reflects the joy of the souls in it's world, and so long as it continues to laugh, it will suppress acts of bloodshed and madness. This is generally beneficial, though it makes no distinction between beneficial bloodshed, such as the overthrowing of a tyrant, and domestic abuse. However, if the world's souls lack anything to laugh about, it will cry instead. In truly abominable worlds, it will begin to scream. The first inverts it's protections, the second will outright amplify violence, suffering, and madness.

The Bloody Moon, meanwhile is a reflection of bloodshed and, as the moon often does, madness. Even in the most idealistic of worlds, it will enhance the darker nature of all those exposed to it's light. Bloodshed and madness under it's influence will trigger trickles of blood, with little upper limit. The more bloodshed it bears witness to, the worse this effect grows, creating a vicious cycle, though this is overshadowed by the Laughing Sun, as a reflection of the fact that moonlight is nothing more than reflected sunlight. By the same token, the Bloody Moon's effects while the Laughing Sun laughs are capped at half the Laughing Sun's strength.

Both the Laughing Sun and Bloody Moon are, initially, strictly symbolic, with no direct effects on the pre-existing celestial bodies. However, they escalate as the Cursebearer does. If they achieve world-shattering power, then the entire world is affected. Similarly, the local sun and moon will change in appearance, or outright appear if the world in question lacks them. The worse the world in question, the more 'realistic' these effects become. For example, the sun is usually not altogether problematic, however, if it should begin to scream, the solar wind is amplified, and will begin to strip the planet's atmosphere. By the same token, the blood leaking from the Bloody Moon increasing to waterfall levels will lead to the local moon/moons being replaced by a singular small planetoid, which is a mere few miles above the planet. This leads to horrific effects on the tides, as well as the negative side effects on the oceans from so much blood leaking into it.

The most major difficulty of this Curse, is that the bearer may well translate into a truly terrible world, and the planet they end up on come apart from the stresses placed on it by this curse before they can amass the power to mitigate the Curse by mitigating the horrors of that world. It also forces the user to invest fairly heavily in information-gathering and intellectual abilities to quickly identify and rectify issues. Both to avoid worsening the situation, and because directly amassing power would merely worsen the Curse.

This Curse may be taken twice, adding the caveat that all who gaze upon you will see the mark of the Sun and Moon, and know that you are responsible for the madness befalling their world.

AN: A Curse that began as a joke in my head, but rapidly became something more. A Soul Eater reference, of course.

[ ] Curse of the Shattered Heart.

-Without the ability to form connections, or feel emotion, are we truly people?

It may be that this Curse will benefit a Cursebearer who also grasps the Geas of Indenture. No morality to bother them. No hesitation brought about by sympathy or empathy. They can become a Tyrant or kill entire worlds, unbothered. However, this Curse condemns the bearer to an existence without emotion, and by extension, without the ability to form attachments. They cannot truly feel malice, nor can they truly feel love. In many respects, they are reduced to a robot with blood in place of oil. There are benefits, of course. Pain both physical and emotional is deadened, meaning only losses of the soul and self are particularly notable. Still, can a life lived without hope or joy truly be called a life?

Certain magics will be weakened or outright become impossible. It will be immensely difficult to find and keep allies, as the bearer will be incapable of feeling anything for them, which will massively debuff relationship gains. On the other hand, avenues of research and paths closed off to those with decency or conscience will be available. Human experimentation, ripping souls apart to study their basic structure, crafting bloodlines to your will. Nothing is barred to a determined Cursebearer by anything but their Curses, the Accursed, or themselves, and this removes the last issue.

AN: Memetic Kingdom Hearts Nobodies. It's essentially maximum Heartlessness. As in, no Heart at all.

[ ] Curse of Kill Stealing.

-There is nothing more frustrating than to have another claim credit for your work.

Despite the silly name, this is an immensely damaging Curse. Enhanced Progress is the most potent tool in a Cursebearer's arsenal, and this Curse drastically reduces it. If anyone should contribute to the slaying of an enemy besides yourself, they receive the benefits of slaying it. This can be abused to rapidly power up allies later on, but early on, it prevents you from gathering power by landing the finishing blow on a powerful enemy weakened by potent allies, or even from utilizing, say, a mage specialized in weakening enemies to defeat foes and gather might.

In addition, since your allies do not possess the Progression granted by being a Cursebearer, it is likely they will gain relatively little from a fight worth 2 Picks, and only marginally improve from one worth 3. Certain Reputation-boosting Enhancements will gain the side effect of mitigating this Curse if taken, however it is generally in the realm of a 1-5% bolstering below the level of Heroic Enhancements.

This may well turn the Cursebearer into a glorified Heroic Mentor, and we all know what usually happens to those.

AN: You know how Gisena and Adorie have been carrying us the last few Boss Fights? Imagine if there was a pretty hefty Arete/Pick penalty for that.

[ ] Brand of the letter
you cannot work closely with people who do not have names beginning with a specific letter for a period greater then one week at a time. Except for the Accursed, nobody is immune. Mitigation can add titles, nicknames, and last names to the options to check for that letter, but you may not introduce new nicknames or titles for this purpose. Marrying people to alter their last name is possible, but marrying someone without interacting closely with them is generally quite difficult.
the letter this targets is determined by the first person you attempt to work closely with after taking up the Brand, and can be altered once per natural sufficient shift in pronounciation for the language of your birth world that the letter cannot be said to still be the same letter.

(if this existed) We could take this up and lose nothing because all our companion first or last names start with A!

@Rihaku I forget, Arete from Omakes and Omakepower devoted to votes are different resources both produced by Omakes, right? If they aren't, I don't mind Winter winning enough to bolster Ring, but if they are, I'd like to bolster Ring.

Ah, the Doom of the Tie, how have I (not) missed you...
I will be equally happy with either option, and equally crushed that the other one couldn't also win. Rihaku is torturing me.

By default, creating fan content generates Arete & simultaneously contributes weight to your vote. A few people have occasionally asked Rihaku to negate the "weight" part of this process but he always comments about how that makes more work when tallying things up.

It sounds like the default behavior (Arete + Omake power) will get you what you want.

While this Curse is rough, Retinue would go a long way with having to live with it, since your allies would have a quarter of Progression.

Oh good, the default(Omake=Arete+Votepower, not Omake=Arete or Votepower) is what I wanted, yeah.

Give your vote to me, I will release you from the shackles of choice. So much self-inflicted pain could be avoided. Just ten vetoless markers and you will feel much better.
Ah, the Doom of the Tie, how have I (not) missed you...
Votes are equal but Ring has pretty much all the omake power.

I'm willing to defect to King of Winter, conditional on a vetoless marker usable at the next signs opportunity or the next appearance of Philosopher's Wreath, should anybody be willing to take it.

Edit: On second thought, let's add a bit more flexibility. The marker will be invocable on a vote with signs related options or the next appearance of Philosopher's Wreath.

Are you for or against Signs? I have a bad memory.

Are you for or against Signs? I have a bad memory.

I like signs. It's a form of progression that doesn't necessitate we take stupid risks if we build sufficient wealth creation infrastructure to feed it properly. Whether Daylian, Blood Sorcery, Metal Element Ordinalism to True Create Platinum then sanctify it with our essence, The Fonts of Myth, the Realm of Evening if that'd work, etc.

I'll absolutely take up that offer, if you'll take a marker from me in the first place?

This seems like a strange deal. You're both going to be pushing for signs, so why wouldn't you hold out for someone who wouldn't otherwise be in the Signs voting bloc?

[ ] Lesser Remittance: Moogles. (May be taken multiple times.)

-Who is the teacher, and who is the student?

Moogles are a strange, short race with fur and bat-like wings. They vary somewhat in precise appearance, but overall, they are friendly creatures. They are also talented artificers, though they tend to require special materials. Even a totally untrained Moogle can become a master in a matter of less than 50 projects. A talented one can work wonders, and a genius can create artifacts on a level with the Rings, given proper materials and experience with lesser crafts.

Normally, the process of gathering the materials necessary to teach them would be arduous, but the Realm of Evening trivializes the low-level materials. Even if what they make cannot be carried out, the experience remains, and they are fully capable of creating single-use items to increase the physical or mystical parameters of the user, or their skills, though the last generally comes with the caveat of being much like Rank, indiscriminate. All of the low-end items of this nature have an upper ceiling, but they amplify base abilities, so even if Hunger himself cannot benefit, his allies are likely to amass at least a few +'s with each stay in the Realm of Evening for some time, to say nothing of the lesser relics they will provide to bolster him and his allies.

In addition to +Gisena, Letrizia, and Adorie, Gisena will gain an effective + to her intellectual Stats even with no further investment, as the Moogle will instinctively recognize her skill with Artifice, and the power of the Ring she carries in that regard, and apprentice itself under her. Moogles are frequently displaced by the destruction of their homes, random wormholes, rifts in space-time(yes, this is a different thing), or simple wanderlust, and is unlikely to have any significant desires beyond artificing or merchant work, and therefore will not generate any outstanding obligations beyond letting them use the Realm of Evening to amass crafting expertise. Given that it's appearance would coincide with the Realm of Evening, there is virtually no chance of not immediately securing it's loyalty. There is also the fact that they will be able to directly assist Gisena in her artificing once brought up to speed.

May have synergies with Aobaru's quest to become a theme park manager, given that they're practically made to be mascots, but also possess significant talents for constructing artifacts. Likely to have synergies with the Realm of Myth, given it's storybook nature.

If taken multiple times, a sub-vote on whether to buff a singular Moogle or bring forth enough to man an entire Moogle Workshop. Multiple takings also have a chance of generating Moogles with special characteristics. For example, most Moogles lack any significant combat ability. However, some are potent spellcasters, can transform into weapons, or both. While there is a very slight chance of any or all of these special characteristics with even a singular taking, the number of Moogles taken can rise exponentially with each time this Remittance is taken.

Taken Once: Guaranteed singular Moogle of moderate talent. 1% chance of significant mystical power. 1% chance of ability to become a weapon. 1% chance to be of great talent instead.

Taken Twice: Guaranteed either singular Moogle of great talent or a dozen Moogles of moderate talents. 5% chance of great mystical power per Moogle. 5% chance of the ability to become a mighty weapon per Moogle. 5% chance of genius talent per Moogle.

Taken Thrice: Guaranteed either singular Moogle of Peerless Genius, the Mooglekind equivalent of Gisena, a dozen Moogles of great talent, or 500 Moogles of moderate talent. 25% chance of great mystical power per Moogle. 25% chance of ability to become a legendary weapon per Moogle. 25% chance of being one step more talented per Moogle. 5% chance of being 2 steps more talented per Moogle. 1% chance of being three steps more talented per Moogle.

For the sake of comparison, if the Peerless Genius were three steps more talented, it may well be able to replicate the Rings before the first visit to the Evening Realm is finished, even without significant mystical power. The Peerless Genius is, themself, three steps above their moderately talented counterparts, with the Genius step occupying the slot between great and Peerless.

AN: Moogles are like ants. They will live literally anywhere and everywhere once introduced to a multiverse. They spread like cockroaches from their point of entry. Unless the Peerless Genius appears, they'll essentially be attached to Gisena.

[ ] Lesser Remittance: Dead Keyblade. (May be taken up to three times.)

-While the original owner is long gone, even their essence still tied to this blade barely a sliver of a sliver, it could still be of use in forging a new wonder from the bones of the old.

A weapon, forged in the image of the blade which safeguarded the very core of an entire multiverse, with ties to the essence of it's wielder. There exist multiple types, and many forms they can take, but the default is that of a key. This serves to announce it's ultimate purpose as well. While unable to lock or unlock the Heart the key they were made in the image of could, and thus a failure for their original purpose, almost any other lock is free game. Even a rank amateur can unlock mundane locks with a tap, and a master can conceptually seal off areas even without any significant mystical might.

Still, this Keyblade is badly damaged. By the death of it's wielder, by the war in which it was fought with, and by millennia in a graveyard of other such keys. It would take immense effort, a mystical artifact, or a genius in mystical arts, to recover even a significant fraction of it's old power. It would simply be easier to cannibalize it for an artifact. Perhaps a Potential Unlock item, as the whole and hale Keyblades granted their wielders use of magic by simple virtue of possession.

Of course, given the current company kept by the Cursebearer, it may be possible to outright reverse-engineer these blades to some degree, though only with multiple examples. Otherwise it would take months of concentrated effort even with Artifice and Renaissance Woman working with the Myrellian Bloodline, as the original blueprint is unavailable, and this is but a shattered husk of the original. It may be possible to leverage the shreds of essence still attached to aid in this.

If restored, user gains ++Progression, a weapon that can use bonds with others to gain new forms and powers, access to a new branch of magic, potent locking and unlocking at the conceptual level, major resistance to conceptual effects, and allies gain +Progression. Otherwise, it is mostly a glorified super-rare crafting material. Theoretically, it would be possible to create weapons akin to Keyblades or Zanpakutou with access to such materials, but outright crafting blades on the same level would be incredibly difficult with a single broken example.

[ ] Greater Remittance: Sora Fragment.

-A dull ordinary boy, and yet he somehow saved his entire multiverse, not once, but thrice. Even gaining access to the key which controlled it's Heart, if ever so briefly.

When a young man refused to accept the chains of fate dooming him and his friends, he abused his ability to traverse connections to turn back time and restore his friends. When he lost a friend again, he once again abused his powers, and recovered her, but, in turn, shattered himself on a level beyond simple death. Now, fragments of his essence lay scattered across his reality, converging in a few locations, but otherwise drifting aimlessly. A singular fragment will not be missed for at least a year, and in that time, his connections with others will likely reforge this fragment into a recompleted person.

On the plus side, Gisena and Adorie may take a direct look at a functioning Keyblade, which has had direct contact with it's primogenitor. By the same token, so has Sora. This has had lasting consequences on both him and his blade. On the downside, the mind-bending metaphysics and plot of the Kingdom Hearts setting will be introduced to the setting, including time travel. A limited form, which inflicts dire consequences for use outside of stable time loops, but time travel. You will be constantly second-guessing any and all events as potentially the result of time travel. Gisena may get... ideas from hearing about the utter madness the Moogles are capable of, nevermind the ideas from monsters which separate one's essence from one's body, and then can be destroyed to revive the original person.

Sora himself provides access to a new system of magic, which is Int and Wis based, and more varied than most. However, only true masters can achieve a level capable of leveling worlds, even if they can usually find some effect that will work on a given foe not explicitly immune to magic. Additionally, as long as he accompanies the party, they receive +Progression. Sora, despite being a fragment, is incredibly resistant to conceptual effects. Being dunked in the sun will kill him much more easily than Death Magics, for example. Part of the package of a Keyblade. In addition, he actively gains +'s to his Stats from Relationship gain, and the same applies to the people he forms Relationships with. His power is that of forming connections. Alone, he is nothing. With his friends, he can quite literally take on reality itself and win.

AN: And now the actual joke Omake. Sora went from a kid swinging a wooden sword, to able to solo giant monsters in the span of a few months. I figure that can only really be called ++Progression.

Rolling a tie-breaker for AABSICBNV.
Aabcehmu threw 1 2-faced dice. Reason: 1 for Bible, 2 for Forsaken Total: 2
2 2

Looked at from the right perspective it was more like a matter of hours, really..

The Manga stretches out the timeframe to a few months.

So, what are the odds that actively farming Picks with the Realm is going to have a caveat akin to 'literally takes all day to give you 1 Pick' to keep it from being absolutely game-breaking? Alternatively, we may hit a wall in the form of Rihaku judging us to have eaten through all our 0-7 Arete Enhancements without special opponents, meaning our growth slows significantly in that direction, and training Praxis ends up being a better use of our time. There's also the possibility it's like Instant Dungeons in The Gamer, and there's a Level Cap determined by our power level going in, meaning we'd rapidly hit diminishing returns on Pick fights. Not immediately, as it could theoretically smack us with a 5 Pick fight, and we need a number of Enhancements before a 5 Pick drops to a 1, but I suspect if we spent three weeks grinding Picks, we would only get like 15 Picks out of it.

Me personally? I'm voting we spend the first week Pick grabbing, the second week Praxis training, and the last week relaxing.

The Fonts of Myth are a useful source of 'passive' income, but King of Winter's best synergy is probably with Refinement of Battle... turning Hunger's current 11.25x STR Power of Ruin into 17.5x STR Power of Ruin means that Refinement of Battle would yield a 122.5x STR Power of Ruin. If Hunger has 50 base STR, then he would end up with something like (50*2.1 Stat Modifiers*122.5) = 12,180 STR for the purposes of All-Defeating Stance. Even taking into account diminishing returns from scaling, the sheer quantity of improvement here would result in a qualitative change in his approach to battle.

AN: And now the actual joke Omake. Sora went from a kid swinging a wooden sword, to able to solo giant monsters in the span of a few months. I figure that can only really be called ++Progression.

There are many situations and systems of advancement faster than Progression in the short- and medium-run! For example, a minion sponsored by Nameless could go from farm villager to universe-rending within instants, or even zero/negative time if Nameless is trying. Its true strength is in its omni-applicability and completely uncapped nature.

So, it's not ++Progression then?

...I'm doing a Yugioh Curse/Remittance Omake now.
