[ ] Priority Two - Aobaru should be kept close to maintain his safety, but Hunger intends to return Letrizia to the Human Sphere ASAP, and it's almost certain that events in the Human Sphere will conspire to keep Hunger & Gisena there. Thus it is of utmost importance that some means of extracting magi from the Voyaging Realm be found... +Aobaru Power

After we finish the Huntress' Moon target, and then return to the Realm of Myth, and then defeat the Lord Protector, and then decide how to handle leaving a hyper-valuable Panoply item in the hands of Adorie, who has basically no combat experience...

then we will turn our attention to bypassing the Magus Extraction Filter. There will be additional updates in the VR while we address this task. Those updates might give us enough time to pacify any anarchy that erupts after taking the Lord of Stalks mission.

IMO this is a pretty effective rebuttal to any humanitarian concerns associated with the assassination. We are (stupidly) leaving the VR, but first we have to find a way around the Apocalyptic consequences for stealing Magi. During that process we can handle any little fires that pop up as a result of the Huntress Moon target.

Once we find a way around the Apocalypse filter, there's nothing stopping us from leaving with the Elementalists and the Armament-Fish in our Panoply...

I'm also going to appeal to occam's razor here. Our target is the Armament-Fish. We know for a fact that it qualifies as an Armament. Speculating that the "birth throes" refer to a second new armament seems highly optimistic.

I think we're in agreement about at least some things, so let me sum up my thoughts:

1: We know that the Armament Fish is an Armament because of the name.

2: We know a new Armament is being born, because in the original "A Fish Out of Legend" vote option we're told an Armament is being born and we can get it.

3: The Armament fish, and the new Armament being born, are two separate Armaments. I think this is a reasonable theory, since it would be odd if newborn Armaments were the size of Australia and adults were the size of a skyscraper. And it would be odd if our Armament was a billion times larger than all the other Armaments. I also think it's reasonable to speculate that Armaments don't just appear, if an Armament is being born something is giving birth to it. Therefore there are two Armaments here, mother and child.

4: We were sent to stop the rampage of the giant Armament that's destroying entire nations. That would be the mother, not the child.

Speculation:
-Ending the rampage can be accomplished by killing the mother, which would naturally stop everything, or by killing the child, at which point the mother would calm down and go back to sleep.
-It's not clear if the child armament is fully born and capable of surviving on its own yet.

I think needing time to find a away to extract mages from the Voyaging Realm is reason enough to not go in another regime-changing adventure, we are quite busy with just the this one! I don't think it will be restricted to "little fires" as you say, especially with the Apocryphal Curse. It's quite possible tons of damage will already have been done by the time we can actually focus on it properly, and if we take enough time preparing things so we'd need to Mitigate the Curse again anyways the whole things will have been kind of pointless. Now that we have voted to leave the Voyaging Realm, we shouldn't immediately try to gather more responsibilities within it. We should actually focus our efforts in preparing to leave, which means another polity to take care of is quite unwelcome in this regard.

Adorie exists, and Hunger will be in the VR long enough to persuade her to intervene. The fact that we are leaving an agent on site to clean up our messes means that I'm willing to cause quite a bit more collateral damage during our quick exit. In exchange, Hunger's short-term safety is assured. Hunger's long-term opinion about risk is set at a more tolerable level. (Remember how our choices contributed to the eventual announcement of Hunger's philosophy of rule? That's likely to happen again, about risk during time-skips.) And we retain the opportunity to capture the Armament Fish as a Panoply item.

Conquering and installing Adorie as the head of government for the land of Stalks is going to be more complicated than literally killing a single person in charge.

Imagine what would have happened if we killed Sten, didn't rouse the support of the provinces, and didn't stick around for a few days in order to blood buff enough people that the Temple civ didn't just elect someone running on the 'screw Hunger' platform. Now imagine that, but we also dumped the responsibility on Adorie to fix despite being weeks away by conventional travel.

No, since we're leaving the most stable thing to do for the Planar Delta is to not destablize it in the first place and then leave.

A-DS should have a disruptive effect on the LP's actions against us even while Hunger is off fishing. That provides some protection to the party members left behind. It also should significantly help with the Fish. Undying Vanguard gives them lots of purely physical protection but it doesn't stop the LP advancing his position and it doesn't help Hunger. I'd rather get A-DS first if we're anywhere close to the necessary arete.

We're kind of overdue in getting it anyway, so I don't mind supporting it! It should make the people who stay here at least a little bit safer.

[X] Monster-Defeating Stance

Monster-Defeating Stance would be better for preventing Hunger from dying since 3 pick fights can have death chances and if the Apocryphal curse boosts it then hunger will likely have a significant chance of death if we don't buy an advancement that gives significant personal strength

If we delay AdS / MoDS until the moment of the fight, the Apocryphal Curse does not scale up to our new power level. Each 0-pick purchase is effectively emergency Apocryphal mitigation.

It's hard to argue about Apo-chan, because she works hard and can do anything, but she doesn't rubber band quite that quickly since she can be "outscaled" to some degree in the short term (insert additional qualifiers here lol). But I do think flash-buys are a good counter for any specifically targeted attacks at weaknesses, at least.
