But what about.. the Brand of the Addled? Hiding powers? Your competence increases?

I could see either of those or maybe something like people being more inclined to pity you rather than take advantage of your clearly Addled state. Some kind of ignorance power ("That shouldn't be possible, how are you doing this!?") would be amusing, though unlikely.

I think it would take quite a stretch even for Apocryphal to turn us saving some separatists the Empire never even heard a out into us becoming the enemies of the Empire.
I mean... The option explicitly warns us about exactly that happening.
*...As long as he doesn't save them.
*But if he does, maybe you can spin him as an enemy of the Empire!
so I wouldn't be so sure. Generally, when Rihaku warns us about something, particularly when he does so in the text of the option, there is a good reason for it, and it would be wise to listen.

Also, if the Lucent Thorn leaves the Journeying realm for the human sphere will that trigger an apocalypse? Given how powerful it is the results of that could be interesting.

That depends if it's counted as a mage? And I think it might be the case that the punishment triggers for people trying to take mages out, not mages leaving of their own volition. Then again, it's suspected to apply to Aeira...

I'm not sure. It's not leaving due to the compulsions of any external factors, it just wants to go murder Rings. Aeira on the other hand is someone who we're specfically taking with us for her magical capabilities, which is what the Voyaging Realm really seems to care about.

After enough Chastity, we might become Chaste enough to get wizard powers at 30! wait...
I've been thinking for a while that purity might include purity of purpose. Maybe orcs make very good Cursebearers...

But it won't be our problem! Thorn is the one that will have to deal with it.

And the world itself may hate artificing, or at least some forms of it.
That's incredibly interesting, because the Ring-Lord that Plerion and friends smashed probably wasn't terribly powerful enough to get a "horrors of unbound Artifice" from the Curse itself. Evil enough, it sounds like, but Sten and Eva are only hot shit in relation to Hunger, not the Realm as a whole. So there would've been a previous, even worse, Azure Badguy.

...hey Gisena, how you doin'? Feeling hateful at all?

Unless some secret police agency has heard of the Sovereignty and the Rotbeast is a plot of theirs to kill off the dissidents. The Empire as a whole might not give a shit but we'd get enemies among the dirty tricks brigade who could smear us.

If Hunger is self conscious about his Rank then hopping into a a prosthetic Robot Suit Will fix that problem

I think the "horrors of unbounded Artifice" part is from Thorn. Apo just thinks Artificing is icky. It might think the same about other magics too! Curses are where it's at.

I'm self-conscious about his a e s t h e t i c, because that is plainly a good idea but it feels weird to grab a robot suit or other weapon outside of our panoply. And I don't want a robot suit in our panoply, that would be lame.

I'll just suck it up and get in the super armor, though.

We've seen that Armaments can have curses, so maybe the Journeying realm as a whole has an Apocryphal curse. It seems pretty uncreative and content to just shit out giant monsters but I don't blame it, things get dull after a couple thousand/million years.

The Voyaging Realm itself is one grand, slumbering Armament who mitigates its Curse by passing it on to everyone who lives on its skin. Now I'm really curious to find out what would happen if we started burrowing into this place. How deep does it go? What would be find at its core, if it even has a core and isn't just some endless maze of twisted earth?

How can you say no to orc armor?! Especially if it can adapt to our Progression somewhat, though that might be tricky until we get more Accretion slots.

You know what they say, always be yourself if you can't be an orc.

It sounds to me more like a parting shot than a serious attempt. So it's not entirely impossible, but it seems rather unlikely - though perhaps less so if there's already someone powerful and out to get us in the Empire waiting for any excuse. But in that case, we probably will have to deal with them anyway.

People should consider the benefits of Republic Kill Team over keeping it Simple! Simple not only kills Aobaru but it means we don't get access to Republic Combat Armour for the team and we lose the captured mage plothook.

Just getting TSH for our physical skills would do a lot for us, especially if we can add some combat INT into the mix. With Cut Through and the Outer Shadow, our swordsmanship could have a transformative effect on our overall strength.

the buffer might not be vigorflame but fullmight or something so that rihaku doesn't have to kill him off

As for Asterios, my best guess is that he's the leader of one of the three nations (Republic, Empire, or that other one), or trying to become the ruler. Rings of power seem like the sorts to end up ruling nations.

If Empire, then the plot line is probably that we return to find him leading a coup to take over from Letrizia's clan/family/dad. Arriving soon enough would head off the coup, while arriving later would mean we'd have to join one of the other nations.
Otherwise, we'll probably return to find that the war has kicked off and the Empire is slowly losing.

Rihaku said it may or may not be Aobaru. The rotbeast needs a very specific buffing power.

And I'm shocked at the Gisena lover advocating for the option most likely to kill her.
