A Game of Supers (The Gamer/Original Superhero Setting)

Woo! Not dead!

Also, @Kinni any information on Shadow Crusader's powers or is Inscrutible as clueless as everyone else in that regard?

Edit: Changed Stalker to Crusader. This is not Worm.

Alright. I think the way to go about picking the four mechs is to come up with a general strategy that could be effective against all powersets and try to build the team around that.

For example, a team built around ambush tactics would probably need Stealth and Anti-Tracking to be able to effectively prepare an ambush, keep the target from calling in reinforcements, and retreat quietly after success. Then, on top of those, two from... Mobility, Restraint, Light Weapon, and Melee? Mobility and Restraint each have ways to keep targets from escaping, either through speed and harassment or battlefield control and direct restraint. Light Weapon and Melee are both direct combatants that don't cause unnecessary collateral damage, and either could act as a hammer to the rest of the team's anvil.

Darn. Oh well. Can we get a recap on everyone elses powers? Since her notes are generally more comprehensive than ours were?

Okay. Let's see...

- Swordsmaster: Carries a variety of swords with special powers that only last for a short while. Has a fairly wide variety, but only uses a dozen at a time. The most consistent powers are a sword capable of heating or cooling things, another that can release highly controllable blades of wind, and one that creates shield pulses automatically when she gets hit. But you never know what kind of surprises she could be packing, from gravity manipulation to sonic blasts.

- Mystic Mind: She has both psychic and magic powers. The psychic ones are telekinesis (only of weights she could lift with her own strength) and touch-range mind reading. Her magical abilities are flame, ice and earth spells, which have a good bit of versatility, but are more focused on power.

- Rampage: Super strong, super durable, and capable of creating explosions from his hands, explosions capable of tearing down walls if he really focused.

- Light Mistress: Capable of shaping light into solid constructs she can freely manipulate. Think green-lantern ring, except much weaker.

I feel that we want to poison Rampage. Our acting should allow us to slip him something well he is bar crawling.

@Kinni : Does Mystic Mind ever order pizza or something? We can impersonate a delivery person and add something extra to the food.

[] 'Hyper Mobility Type'. Designed to allow mobility under any environments or conditions, this model is equipped with multiple different propulsion jets, some allowing for unparalleled 3d mobility while others granted supersonic straight line speed. Interfaces with jet cycles, allowing the creation of a platform for transporting other units.

[] 'Restraint Type'. Equipped with a variety of functions designed for limiting mobility, some anti-personnel and some anti-vehicle, all depending on the matter generator, which was programmed to create nets, slick substances, road blocks and similar. Interfaces with specific anti-mobility tools, allowing for greater strength and range.

[] 'Stealth Type'. Capable of both light and thermal cloaking, as well as equipped with sound suppression systems and close range weapons, this unit was designed for both intelligence gathering and assassination roles. Interfaces with personnel cloaking devices, allowing for longer operation, as well as long range sensing.

[] 'Anti-Tracking Type'. Capable of a variety of jamming tools, as well as sight impairing ammunition such as smoke bombs. Ideal for hit-and-run operations. Interfaces with specific anti-tracking tools, allowing for better control and focusing.

I think you can look at this set-up and see what I'm aiming for.

I personally think that we could likely take out both Rampage and Mystic Mind without any robot help. Just slip them both something to make them sick. Do we want to take robots to manage a full sweep?

Eh, not so sure about that. There is no such thing as a Instant Poison, unless we get something like it from Boss Lady. So there will be a very dangerous period between when the drugs begin to take effect, and when they finally conk out, during which they can cause all sorts of trouble. I'm more in favor of more quick forms of taking people out, such has hitting them in the face or choking them out.

Melee fo us.

Restraint for general takedowns.

Anti tracking for escape.

Shield for defense.

Close range offense, mid range offense, defense and utility. I think this is our best combo.

That is the time period that we leave. Don't need to be there when the drugs take effect. All we need to do is make sure that they are too sick to fight when take over happens.

Unless they get to a Hospital or to some other form of aid before it fully takes over. Or their ruckus causing events attracts Authorities who then render aid.

Rampage is a villain with odd physiology. He is not going to want to go to a hospital, but in any case hospitals are not magic. We can definably give them something long term debilitating especially if we are willing to risk it killing them

Stealth might actually be better than anti tracking after some more thinking. One of our big lacks is info and this can get that.

Normal Hospitals aren't magic. Who knows what in setting hospitals are like, especially when Magic is literally a thing.
Also, while Rampage is a villain, pretty sure he'd prefer Jail to Dead.

Jail would work for our purposes as well. Also if magic was common enough for Hospitals then we would have been able to find something definite about magic.

Given the types of supers we'll need to deal with, this load-out seems out best bet. Stealth for sneaky sneak, info gathering AND ambushing. Restraint to help deal with the people who are tad too tough for simple conventional weapons, as well non-lethal capture. Light Weapon to blast our way through of the capes if need be, and it also has some non-lethal options. And finally, Hyper Mobility, for getting around can be VERY useful in a lot of situations, as well as simply being able to fly, and it enables us to, if worst comes to worst, perform hypersonic ramming.
