A Game of Supers (The Gamer/Original Superhero Setting)

So what's the plan for the gang? Will we be the power behind the throne, blatantly take over or just amass information? I don't think our need for control would allow for anything less.

[X] Focus on raising the level of a specific skill (Parkour)
-[X] Make a disguise for Parkour and Surveying.
[X] Focus on raising the level of a specific skill (Survey)
-[X] Make a disguise for Parkour and Surveying.
[X] Learn a useful miscellaneous skill.
-[X]Hacking
[X] Ambidexterity. Writing things with both hands at once is still a good exercise.

I figure power behind the throne could work wonders for the moment. Take someone, make them more useful, have them take the blows when they start coming. Continue preparing ourselves for glory.

I figure that we will stick around learn everyone's emails and phone numbers then use our skill in acting and hacking to get our own spyware in every members computer so that we can rob them into the ground whenever we want.

Also if they usually communicate by email we can learn a bunch.

Likely so long as we know the skill in question to a higher level then we are teaching it. However we want loyal minions for that. Not sure how to go about getting them.
Level 20 Manipulation

Though it would still be fine with semi loyal minions. It lends itself well to being the power behind the throne, the "king" being ac student of ours.

That's vague and there's a lot that goes into manipulation.

If you're being very objective, everything is an attempt at manipulation. Trying to politely tell someone to stop doing something, trying to intimidate someone into a result, talking around a topic in order to get someone to come to a conclusion on their own, etc etc.

Functionally useless as a skill since its so vague and broad and overpowered.

Not sure if it is worth it with semi loyal every hour we spend training someone else's skill is an hour we are not improving our own. Not considering the investment of bringing our teaching skills to 20.

You could make a similar claim with the skill "Engineering" yet someone suggested it as a skill.

Just being broad and overpowered does not make a skill useless, quite the opposite. It might make it nonexistent, instead being multiple different skills, but I was referring to the whole group.

Considering we want to rule, we inevitably will have to sacrifice our own awesomeness to get some semicompetent minions. Can't do everything ourselves.
If only our goal was our own freedom, doing whatever we want, then we could focus on ourselves.

We should create a company first. Or a cult.

I didn't suggest Engineering so that argument is wasted on me.

And being broad and overpowered doesn't make it useless, no. Being vague is what makes it useless. Which is the main thrust of my comment, which was missed.

No one said that Engineering is not a valid skill, so even if it wasn't you it seems to be everyone else is fine with it. And really, we don't have to be specific, it's up to Renni if he wants to give us a general skill, or a specific one that falls in that set.

Being vague also doesn't make it useless, quite the opposite. Level 20 Manipulation would mean we are good at all things Manipulation. If it can be counted as manipulation, we are good at it.

Again, the "nobody is complaining about Engineering" argument is wasted on me. I literally don't care.

Vague makes it useless. Because otherwise we can minmax for all vaguely worded skills to give us godlike power in the matter of days. Unless you see @Kinni breaking the setting like that, it's more than unlikely for it to happen.
