I've heard that SB has been having lot of problems with watchers not getting notifications.

Not gonna lie though, might have to delay one last time to late May ~ early June if colouring are going to take ages. We are putting this out just in case.

Artist741: Sorry. Hopefully late June. Crap happened this month and Miura-sensei's death really hurt us both on a mental level. I did these to get them out of the way while Cousin goes to deal with getting blackmailed by the dumbest blackmail plan ever.

God damn Elden Ring gets revealed before this get to update... *sigh

Yeah, just note if this story went silent for a while, just go look at the edit history on the TV tropes page.

LWA wiki doesn't even have a proper write-up. So I took the liberty and got my hands on this manga's scans and...

How should I put this nicely... Ahm...

Holy crap. This is like the most cliche shojo I have ever read in my life. It is also arguably the worst LWA licensed media so far.

NO JOKE! It had every wish fulfilling shojo tropes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!



"Remember me? I was that docky guy in your elementary school that you never really paid attention to! Of course, I totally had feelings for you ever since! I trained really hard to be your handsome prince!" Check.

"Of course I totally share your hobbies! I am also a hardcore Shiny Chariot fan! In fact, I am a wizard and can use magic too!" Check.



Yes, put wizards in a story called Little WITCH Academia and make them the focus! Brilliant! (Yes, I remember Ep 26, shut up). All of them are handsome blonde guys, of course.



Right after meeting her old friend, Akko suddenly improves on her light magic and flying because... Young teenager love is that powerful I suppose. Didn't TRIGGER deconstructed that garbage in Luluco?



There's some bad addon too. On top of the Shiny Rod, Shiny Chariot also uses the Midnight Crown to boost her magic. This stupid thing is so powerful, you wonder if Chariot is even using her own skill for her shows. The entire plot is spent fighting over this thing so Akko gets to be the X-mas girl.

Do you know what's worst? Akko doesn't even know the OC has feelings for her over the course of the story. All of her affection came from the fact she is catching up with an old elementary classmate. It's only after he toughens up and tells her... and I don't know why she suddenly gets all embarrassed and accepts the proposal. It's truly a crime for a shojo manga to end in a friendzone.

The story ends with the OC returning to his wizard school and promise Akko to see her again after 10 years of study. Akko moves on, saying she doesn't even know what will happen 1 year into the future, let alone 10 and she will deal with him then. This is bad because she basically long distanced the poor man.

LWA: Midnight Crown is effectively an OC insert fanfiction one would find in the lowest pit of FF.net. It attempts to give Akko a boyfriend in the most cliche shojo way possible. In the author's note, Yuka Fujiwara said she was free to write whatever by the staff of the anime and IT SHOWS, horribly. This manga existed to promote the Enchanted Parade movie and nothing more.



Oh, there's more. She also explained in the note that this manga originally was going to be COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! The OC boy is supposed to be the love interest of another student of Luna Nova named Lili/Riri(?) and he had a much more appropriate design as a wizard of LWA verse. The story would've been about Akko's team working as cupids to match them. I WANT THAT INSTEAD OF WHATEVER THIS WAS. We like Lili/Riri's design!!!

There's a reason why the anime added Andrew not as Akko's love interest but rather as a great friend/brother figure. Reading this is like taking a peek into a very dark future...

Fun fact, Himitsu no Akko-chanμ reboot manga is about on par with this too. That reboot is mostly a shojo when she tries to befriend the mirror world's Prince (which is an OC IIRC and not in classic HnA).

Hopefully, this is the lowest LWA media can go. Unless the VR game is a totally sh*tshow too... Goddamnit, it sucks to be working on LWA sometimes.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, summer heat made our work progress go bruhhhhh because we didn't invest in an AC and I am just using this to let off steam. Ignore this if you think I am being too harsh on some quick manga tie-in that the series never ever referenced again.

I might add Lili/Riri(?) as a side quest or something, I don't know. There are some decent elements that can be reused.

Yeah. I believe the reason she scrapped it may have something to do with the publishing. The manga chapters were being serialized in a shojo magazine. The editors would've easily convinced her the plot wasn't shojo enough.
