So there has been a small edit to Sucy's outfit... Small is an understatement, because editing it in took WAY longer then it has any right to be.

Her design work has been updated with the change as well; I NEED HER TO HAVE THOSE SLEEVES.

So to elaborate on the massive gamble I made 2 years back with this fic:

After Persona 5 I bet that ATLUS will continue the plot of the missing Cognitive research and other future scums missusing it for more Metaverse high jinx. It payed off in Scramble. The surprise and relief here is that they didn't set Scramble years after P5, meaning again, my gamble paid off because Akko's story now connects (with a little hand waving) directly after P5S. (P5/R~2016, P5S~ 2017 summer, AFsiW now on 2018 April~May)

I also prayed that any possible rerelease NOT add anything game changing like killing characters in a surprise true ending. Sudden Royal spooked a bit, but I know they wouldn't do it. It didn't add anything I can see that would effect this fic.

Why do I care about P5 stuff so much? Well... let's just say a certain character's evil plain can be retroactively refit into being relating with P5's event if what I had cooked up works.

This is it. This fic wouldn't be referencing anything else after Scramble. If there is like Persona spin off that is set in 2019 or something, I will turn a blind eye on it.

Hope I can update early March; almost beat the Author's block, but Beta's delayed again so who knows... Maybe I will go update Kamo since I now know Dr. Stone's end game.

Nice to know, and if your beta is busy, then it's best to focus on something else until they're available.

Artist741: I wouldn't have to do it if some one just release the logo with a clear background!

Not that it matters, even if there is a one out there, I will still have to edit the logo massively to avoid morons. So the same amount of work at the end of the day.

So let me just drop by and say something about the fic randomly.

Will I be making characters out of the other Nine Olde Witches that didn't appeared in Canon? Basically OCing?

No.

Because TRIGGER probably didn't plan to either.



Out of 9, only like 4 (I think, because I swear I know the others from other Medias, but just can't verify ATM) that's original design. The rest are references to Final Fantasy (?), Witch Bandora/Rita Repulsa from Super Sentai/Power Ranger, and Scarlet Witch from Marvel comic.

(Like seriously, if you know the Hats, please tell me. I want to fill a chart.)

I don't know about you, but I don't think it's ever wise to make copyrights infringements on Characters that will show up eventually... Meaning TRIGGER probably didn't ever intended for most of the Nine Olde to show up as characters. So therefore neither will I in the fic.

Note: The second one has Magatama beads... do Japan have a Nine Olde representative? Hmmmm...

The internet didn't have anymore than those two talked about, so the rest might not be references. Found one or two people talking about how the center hat (#5) was Woodward's and the one with the skull (#7) was Beatrix's though.

Hat 9 looked somewhat familiar, but the only person who pointed it out said it reminded them of FF9's Freya, who's a Dragoon class. Very weak magic, but Jumping and raining down spears of doom that murder the hell out of dragons might be considered magic in its own way. :p

It might be more just showing off the cultures that came together other than that though? #2 has magatama on it so its pretty obvious far east, even if they didn't really do the pointy hat thing with their version of witches. #4 has a cross on it pretty prominently. #7 (Beatrix's) is kind of solidly European-Pagan to me if that makes sense? #8 has those face wraps that I think are more out of the middle east than anywhere else? Finally #9 is rolling heavily in norse vibes.

Yeah most people think it's Freya too, but it's not a match (Freye have dragon wings instead) . So I think it's more of an inspired by her + a fusion of a stereotypical Valkyrie Winged Helm that appears a lot in Japanese media.

*Back to ballooning the chapter so it's something like 8~9k now

*Beta missed handing me something today, which is critical because this is now guaranteed delay into mid-April

*All because of Corona-chan

 
Seeing that pic made me remember Shenhua's (Black Lagoon) voice.

Not necessarily a bad thing. Anyways, hope things get resolved on your end with the beta.
