A Fool's Study into Witchcraft [Little Witch Academia X Persona]

Persona Design doc #1:
Persona Design doc #1:

  • Aradia is duo elemental of Bless and Curse, representing Akko's element; Chaos. Chaos in this context is the co-existence between 2 polar opposites.
  • Her face is a direct homage to her appearances in SMT3: Nocturne.
  • Her head and neck is a scepter with with a empty glass orb filled with mist. Symbolizing Akko's air-headed-ness.
  • Her motif is the Goat and the Crow/Raven.
    • The Goat and the Crow/Raven are often associated with wicked witchcraft and devils.
    • She is a scapegoat goddess technically...
    • Crow/Raven are seen as the messengers of the gods. This fits how some Wiccian sees Aradia as as a savor sent by the night goddess.
  • Her outfit is a dirtied Shiny Chariot outfit with a very badly made cape. It creates the image of someone trying to cosplay the character, only it ended up looking lame AND kinda badass at the same time.
  • The golden edge of her sleeves are embroidered with Germanic Runes, which a lot of Wiccian has adopted. It's also what a lot of Japanese writers would have their European characters use because... lazy research. (Nasu why....)
    • Note: She's missing a few runes... wonder what's with that?
  • She prefer hiding her lower body in a space of darkness created from her cape. As depicted on her Illustration, she looks like a black heart shaped mass while resting.
  • She wears a long cloth over her shoulders like a scarf. It's something she inherited from a certain Morning Star.
  • Her goat head scepter is alive and is her familiar. She calls it Bel-y or Bel-chan and loves it to death. It has a... very NSFW personality that she mutes from Akko's ears.

  • Her design is meant to involve a Xenomorph from the Alien franchise. AKA the most famous movie serpent monster in history.
    • Most specifically, she resembled a Chestbuster, the larval stage of the monster where it's very snake like.
    • Like a Xenomorph, her tongue is a weapon. In this case an Aulos, a Greek two pipe flute she used to cast her Mute Aliment. Why an Aulos? One, it resembles a snake tongue. Two, it's the instrument Dionysus, the god of wine, vegetation, pleasure, festivity, madness and wild frenzy.
  • She's basically a snake infested by fungus ALA Cordyceps. This symbolized Sucy's mushroom fascination and dependence.
  • Her eyes are covered by science goggles, symbolizing Sucy's mad scientist behavior and how she sees the world.
  • Suzy has shark teeth, she has snake fangs to mirror it.
  • Her face shape resembles Sucy's signature Skull symbol.
  • Her hat is part of the head. All the snakes slithering in an out of the hole and acting as her hair like a medusa is in fact- get this- her brain cells. She can also send them out to attack, meaning she is truly a brain person.
    • Group intelligence is a trait seen in advance fungus like slime molds
    • This symbolized Sucy's twisted desires.
    • They are remnants of Sucy's egos as seen in Episode 8.
  • Her mushroom tentacles can weave into hands and can be use as such... she doesn't because tentacles beat hands every time.
  • She's longer then Aradia is tall.
  • She calls Sucy "Little Sucy", she acts like a mother that has lost children before.
  • She's based off Medea's chariot outfit.
  • When she laughs, it is "Kyuufoofoo…!". That's what happens when you have a flute for a tongue.
  • Why is she Psychic AKA Mind elemental? What does drugs and mushroom induce?

AuthorNCS and Artist741's top 10 favorite demons
Artist741: Oh hey! I know! Let's make everyone guess what Akko's future Personas are by listing our favorite SMT demons!

AuthorNCS: Yeah, go do that. Stall me more time!!!

10. Titania

9. Dagda

8. Ardha

7. Nadja

6. Lilith

5. Persephone

4. Parvati

3. Moh Shuvuu

2. Arahabaki

1. Pixie

10. Minotaur

9. Masakado

8. Matador

7. Seraph

6. Ba'al

5. Skogsra

4. Huang Di

3. Pixie

2. Satan

1. Lilith

She already has Pixie and there will be faeries in the future, so Titania is probably going to appear.

So I'm guessing at least a few of these will eventually be created? Minotaur is generally fairly low-levelled, so Moloch as an upgrade at some point?

For Satan, Apocalypse version or the more mainline version?

Artist741: This list is NOT a confirmation of what Persona she will use. It's just an insight to let our readers guess our thought process.

Satan is definitely Classic. SMT4F is cool, but Classic beats it by a mile and that version of Satan should never be brought up outside of SMT4's timeline.

More of a Pagan/Fae theme for the story to go with the mysticism elements? Like how Persona 3 was predominately greek mythological figures and tied into the underworld, 4 was Japanese and centered around finding the truth of oneself, and 5 was pretty much the rebellion against god/authority?

LWA literally revolve around Yggdrasil... What do you think?

I haven't really seen any Norse elements aside from that, so I wasn't certain. The personas and general mysticism seemed more Celtic/Pagan, especially with the emphasis of magic diminishing in the face of the world's progress ala the witch trials. Since those were the mythos more often associated with that era, they seemed to make more sense for the themes.

Despite the name, LWA's Yggdrasil doesn't seem to have anything to do with other realms, so I wrote it off as another case of an object being named for a few similarities without actually being tied to the concept. The idea behind it, all magical energy stemming from a natural structure that holds everything together, sounds closer to the emphasis of power from nature that druids and other "Pagan" religions are more associated with than the original Norse form.

EDIT: Honestly, after so many things that are named after mythological entities/items despite having a little-to-no connection, I don't really assign the names much importance any more.

Shallowwwwwwwww. Go back and study mythology more.

I will tell you one thing; LWA's Yggdrasil shared more in common with the Chinese version of the tree, Jian-Mu/Builder Tree (建木).
Will do. And thanks for the tip.

You're actually one of the few authors I've seen put that much emphasis/detail on the mythology of the work. It's a very pleasant surprise.

One of my favorite thing in mythology is to trace the root and discover the origin of the stories. It's fascinating to see how one myth change from another because of human shortcomings. That's why SMT and Touhou appeals to me so much.

Artist741: MORE ART UPDATE!!!!

Note on the David one: I was going to redrew it, but then after 10 attempts to try another angle I was like, " He's fine...". I just fixed his face, spine and hat a little bit.
