If Hayato is gonna have a second partner. I would like to a be creature that can help boost or somehow add this empathy towards his fighting styles. Somehow adding Empathy to his fight rolls so we can be the Bro that fights with the concept of being such a good dude.

In short, a true himbo.

Any idea what such a creature can fit this description because all I'm thinking of is a Tulpa, a imagined being born from spiritual or mental power.

Empathy driven Partner Art is more than plausible, but in order to avoid possible minor spoilers all I can say that when thinking of monsters that could give such an Art, remember that the monster necessarily doesn't need to be born from emotions or anything like that. It can also be a monster that is known for using/understanding empathy. For good or bad.

I know man but I am kinda fascinated if more modern monster or even cryptids can be available to partner up and they would mesh with our classical youkai and the gumiho.

Most Cryptids count but would be a bit difficult to find/bond with. Due to being more modern monsters rather than ones from ancient mythology, such creatures don't have as much of a presence in the Human World or the...you know what fuck it. Sage didn't care about spoilering parts of his world so neither will I.

So, there's a secondary world filled with all the Monsters that show up in this Setting. No humans live there permanently and they've all basically formed their own societies and otherwise. Humans sometimes stumble into it/are sent there/get there through certain ways...but ones that aren't ready or don't know where they need to go usually end up either eaten or assimilated into the world itself. Human Souls aren't strong enough to resist the strong Spiritual Power emanating from the land and end up turned into Monsters.

Some monsters, like Brownies and otherwise choose to live in the human world instead. They keep their heads down to avoid detection. However, the older Monsters usually stay in the Monster World as a way to keep themselves alive by feeding off the energies of the land itself. In the past, the two Worlds were almost directly ontop of each other. Thus how Monsters were able to walk the same lands that humans did, and where most stories about them come from. But something happened that split the worlds apart.

Cryptids and such mostly remain in the human world. Usually because:

1. There's only one of them. Going to the Monster World is asking to be Ganked by stronger monsters.

2. They've gotten their own niches and lives in the Human world that they wouldn't be able to gain in the Monster World.

Edit: As for an Empathy Focused Partner Art:

1. Demon/Angel/Divine Creatures: Creatures that usually represent and feed off specific emotions. Not all are 100% like their biblical counterparts, but usually do look and act like them. This also includes things like Devas and Asura's from Hindu Myths and otherwise.

2. Ghost: Ghosts are basically big wells of Emotional Energy given Spiritual Form. They're usually connected to the world by strong emotions, so being able to read/effect them would fall under their wheelhouse. Mind you, they need to be Pure Ghost. Not Spirits/Ghost bonded to items like Yato is. Those are different.

3. Unicorn: Literally meant to represent Purity itself. Is it any wonder it's good with reading and understand emotions? Oh and if you don't want the regular kind, Kirins exist.

4. Cursed/Living Dolls: Unfortunately falling on the more negative emotional spectrum, cursed/living dolls would actually still fall under the same strong emotions wheelhouse as Ghosts and Spirits.

Are there rules on what monster they turn into, or is it random?

And sadly, that does not always work.

So, are cryptids a new kind of monster, or do they only seem like it cause they all still remain in the human world?

1. There are some rules. Staying near an Oni Village will ensure you become an Oni for instance. But this is not a hard rule. Sometimes you don't even turn into a Monster. You just sorta of...evaporate.

2. On Cryptids, technically both? They are new monsters when compared to the older ones like Lamias, Vampires and such. But this is also a result of them staying in the Human World so long. The Monster World doesn't really know about them. Nor do the top dogs there really care.

Congratulations! Your Martial Arts are all high enough to earn you first place in the Tournament!
Edit: haha, forgot I had this in there. Let's just say that this is very very cool.
Can haz Entity of Diligence plz? Because that among the Virtues is probably the most useful with the least drawbacks.

Speaking of which, how would the Virtue-based Supernatural Arts work?
Entity of Diligence? I actually dont have a clue what you're talking about here homes. I assume some form of angel based on the name but those things have got a wacky hierarchy at the best of times.
What kind of Partner Art would we get from a mind-reader like a satori?
Probably something spirit or mind based? If Mind imagine Yamato getting one. Mr. 'I Have Big Brain' would be an even bigger nightmare to fight that he already is.

Is there a difference between say an Oni and a Demon? Those and a Daemon?

Maybe, but I could see it being Empathy-based too, since a satori's whole thing is reading people's minds; the Empathy tree covers Motives, Feelings, and Interests, and it'd be pretty easy to get all three if you're reading someone's mind. (something something open your mind to their thoughts)

If they are Empathy-based, though, they'd probably tend more towards the "dark" side of Empathy, since they'd generally use it more as a weapon than anything. Which means that, odds are, we won't get one as an ally.

Don't be so certain. Just because your emphatic skills come from the darker side of that skill doesn't mean you have to use them for evil.

Let's see.

    [X] Plan: Expect the Unexpected
    -[X] Train with Yamato
-- [X] Ask our brother to stretch his devious imagination and prepare us for the most devious trickery and unforeseen scenarios. Also, check in on him personally.

Welp, Last Montage gets it.

We can do regular street fighting, sure it would look like a jackie chan move with the amount of improvised wapeon being used but still totally natural

Nope, all must be supernatural! Everything!

Edit: Street fighting was actually my first choice for an SMA. But when everyone wanted to make MMA supernatural, I felt that we should go all in and make everything supernatural. We shall have supernatural arts and crafts if I can help it!
