It's know it's a negative emotion, but she's actually rather difficult to read.
"you"

Is it a reason we give her, or the one that's true. I don't know if I want to admit to want friendship in front of someone from the Organisation.

[x] No real reason. You just think they're cool.

...thankfully, I still support the concept of Nagai who doesn't dwell too much on what he is doing and why.

Friendship wins again.

Week 10.12
[X] [The Dreamer] Because it's always been your dream to find supernatural creatures...and become their friend.

You smile at Elizabeth then place your hands behind your head, "That's simple, Elizabeth. Cause it's my dream."

"Huh?" the girl has the same reaction that most people do when you admit this to them. Her eyes widen, then narrow in confusion. She places a hand on her chin and asks, "What do you mean by that?"

"Exactly what it sounds like," you say without a lick of uncertainty in your voice, "I've read plenty of stories of otherworldly beings that once lived among us. I've read about gods, spirits, monsters, undead, the works. I don't know all of them nor everything about them, but I know enough to not be completely clueless. And, after learning about all of those creatures, you wanna know what my reaction has always been?"

She nods.

"I always thought, 'Man...I bet those guys are actually really cool people. I'd like to get to know them.'"

Elizabeth stops walking. You do as well, waiting for the girl's next reaction. She's staring at you with a clear scowl. She starts shaking her head as a small, pitying smile comes over her face, "Nagai-san, not to be rude, but doesn't that seem a little bit-"

"Foolish?" your words stop her sentence in its tracks. You wait for her to focus back on you with a shocked expression on her face before you continue, "Or were you gonna say, stupid? Maybe idiotic? A hopeless romantic? Maybe it is. Maybe I'm just a stupid kid who happens to put too much trust into things that most people would be afraid of."

You walk forward, hands still behind your head as you continue speaking, "But to be honest, Elizabeth, I think that's actually a good thing. Dreams are supposed to help us reach for things that make the world better. And the first step to doing that, is helping others better themselves. That includes supernatural creatures. After all, for every story about a evil creature that eats people and destroys towns, there's one about a noble creature that helps someone stop that creature. For every monster that destroys a family, there's one that gives someone a family."

You stop walking, smiling all the while but keeping your back to Elizabeth, "And that's why I want to meet them. I want to be able to sit down and have a talk with them. See the world through their eyes, even if it's vicariously. Try to give them someone they can confide in and honestly trust. I want to be their friend. And if that gets me burned sometimes? Then so be it."

You're expecting to hear her tell you it's stupid. For her to tell you it can't happen. That the monsters would each you. That they'd trick and lie to you. All that stuff. That's what you've heard every other time you've said this to people after all.

Well...either that or just silence, fake smiles, and nods of the head.

"What about people?"

You raise an eyebrow. That's a new one.

You ask Elizabeth what she means. You don't turn around, but you can hear the strain in her voice as she answers, "What...what about other people? There are lots of people in the world who hate supernatural creatures. More than you might think. When they think of these creatures, they only see monsters that need to be put down. No matter how kind they may be. And...and they're not afraid to hurt and destroy any humans than may get in their way. What will you do if they come for you?"

"Oh, that's easy. I'll fight them."

"But they'll have trained fighters."

"Then I'll fight them."

"They'll have lots of resources."

"Then I'll fight them."

"They can make your life Hell!"

"Then I'll fight them."

"Stop ju-!"

"Elizabeth," you turn around to look the girl in the eye this time. She's staring at you with a mixture of anger, exasperation, and confusion in her eyes. Her body is shaking and her hands are clenched into fists. You meet her gaze with one of quiet confidence as you say, "I'll. Fight. Them. It doesn't how I have to fight them, it doesn't matter how much it hurts me, it doesn't matter what they do. I'll fight them. So that I can accomplish my dream."

"But what if they don't go after you? What if they go after your brother?"

You chuckle at that. Then you shake your head, "Elizabeth. If anyone like what you're talking about were to come after my brother and his friends? I feel sorry for them. Cause they have no clue who they're dealing with."

Elizabeth's reaction is...nothing.

She just stands there, staring at you with confused eyes. Then she shakes her head and starts to walk off down the hall. She gives you a clipped goodbye before disappearing around a corner.

...Huh.

Wonder what that was all about.

and we raised another flag of sacrifice/death

I mean we already carried the flag of death of the "protector" and now with this one (I don't know how to call it..the one of the inherited will or the pacifist or the dreamer).

if this would follow a strictly anime logic/manga our death/everyone believing we die to appear at the last moment in the final arc to save the day as a deus ex machina/become a power-up of the protagonist after our story expands and we become a supernatural creature/become the final bad guy it would be inevitable.

LOL

We should probably get Yamato started on learning some actual martial arts sometime; unfortunately, he won't be able to think his way out of everything.

It can be rather annoying at times. But really, you have to admire those that doggedly pursue their dreams like that.

It might be a foolish dream, but one he has thought over a lot.
That the monsters would each you.
Do you mean 'eat you'?
You chuckle at that. Then you shake your head, "Elizabeth. If anyone like what you're talking about were to come after my brother and his friends? I feel sorry for them. Cause they have no clue who they're dealing with."
Our bro can take care of himself. And he now has a very loyal shadow teaching him how to fight.

Hayato has given her a lot to think about, widening the cracks that were already formed in what she was taught vs. what she has seen/feels.

Excellent!

Yam's already learning Shadow Fox Style or whatever it's called, so we should try to find an MA that fits well with that.

Ninjutsu is the obvious choice, but Ba Gua might work better for our objectives.

It's the style that Air Bending is based on, so it should have good synergy with the Dodging branch of the Evasion Tree.

Yameko is the best teacher for him when it comes to fighting that fits his style, unless we run into someone else.

Too bad we don't actually know ninjutsu; Ba Gua (whatever that is) might technically be doable if it's included in MMA, though. Not very well, since we don't have the specific skill related to that martial art, but we might be able to get him started at least.

Karate, I'm pretty sure, would be a pretty bad match for him, though, since he's going for an evasion-based style while karate's basically going "this is my spot, and you can't make me leave it."

Yameko is the best teacher for him when it comes to fighting that fits his style, unless we run into someone else.
I don't think she's got any martial arts besides the one she's teaching him at the moment, so any other martial arts he picks up would be as much teaching them to her as they would be learning them himself.

Not directly, but she's expert in the Evasion skill tree that's useful with both Shadow Fox Style and in how Yamato generally fights, and throwing weapons. Instead of us trying to force our way of fighting on him, it is better to let Yameko teach him now how to fight, and in the future see what kind of martial arts people Yamato and Hayato meet can teach him, if Yameko's teachings aren't enough.

Normal reminder that the Quest isn't dead.

In other news, someone commissioned fan art for a fan fic I'm writing.

So that's cool.

Bro Trip #1
[X] A Bro Trip: Yamato's planning to go out and see what's beyond the school. Specifically, he's heading out into the less traveled areas of the city, and checking out Kirin High a bit more than usual. He's mostly just trying to "expand his horizons". He'd like it if you came, but you don't need to. (Possible Discover Side Events and Characters; ???)

"Thank you for coming, Hayato," Yamato adjust the bag under his shoulder as the two of you stand under the bus stop. Outside you can see and hear rain lightly pattering against the sidewalk. It's not storming or anything, so you're trip is still on. But you're gonna have to be careful how long you stay outside. Unless you want to get your casual clothes soaked.

You shrug the bag over your shoulder into a more comfortable position, "Don't mention it, Yamato. Going on a trip with my best bro in the world? Like I'd miss that."

You chuckle, feeling much better now that you're out of that stifling school uniform. You've replaced it with the outfit you usually wore before coming to Raijin. A black blazer with a white shirt underneath, and black pants with similar sneakers. Yamato had on a simple white button-up shirt with beige cargo pants and plain white shoes. Both of you have full bags with you. Yamato has his laptop, an extra phone, one of those Portable Charge Packs with solar panels on it, and some water canteens if you need them. You've got...mostly non-perishable food and snacks.

You did point out that you weren't going camping when the two of you were packing for this trip. But Yamato insisted that you be prepared for anything that could happen. Granted you're not entirely sure what could happen while you're on a simple trip, but if it makes him happy then you'll do it.

The bus shows up a couple of minutes later. After showing both of your cards you take a seat next to each other far in the back. Mainly cause hardly anyone sits there. You lean back with your bag against you, while Yamato lays his in his lap. The two of you enjoy the ride for a bit before you turn and ask, "So...what exactly are we gonna be doing?"

"Simply put, I wish to explore the area around Raijin. I find that remaining cooped up in our dorm room all day to be...not very stimulating," he explains while adjusting himself in his seat.

"And this has nothing to do with the fact that my tournament is right around the corner?"

"Not at all."

"You sure?" you lean over your brother's shoulder a little bit, eyebrow raised.

He's silent for a few moments. Then he turns away and answers, "Perhaps. Though, even if it is true, it is not the primary reason. There are many places around Raijin that likely hold other supernatural beings. And with the Organization now involved with our school, contacting them for alliances is imperative for opposing them in the future."

You back off and shrug, "Fair enough. So, anywhere in particular you have in mind?"

"Three: Kirin High, a group of warehouses I found through looking at a map of the area, and a beach that's still open despite it not being a summer month," he explains as his head turns back to you, "I plan to explore each area thoroughly, however all of them are a significant distance from each other. I estimate that it will take use significant portion of the day to fully examine each one. Thus, since it will be easier to discover any secret areas during the day, I propose that we prioritize which areas we will look into first.

He adjusts himself a bit more on the seat, "Kirin would likely be the easiest to explore as we have been there multiple times. However, it will also require us to be extremely perceptive. If we missed anything the first few times we went to the building, then anything out of place must be well hidden. The warehouses wouldn't require nearly as much perceptiveness on our part. It's a wide, open area that very few people visit. We should be able to easily discover anything out of the ordinary...but it will likely discover us as well."

"And the beach?" you question.

"A mixture of the previous two," he explains, "I would suggest we visit the warehouses first, followed by Kirin High, and ending with the beach. I highly doubt we will find anything worthwhile at the beach."

You nod along with his words, "Sounds like a plan. Glad you have this all figured out."

"It is only natural," is his reply.

"But, you forgot one thing."

"Oh?"

"Where is us simply hanging out and having fun in this equation?" you ask with a serious expression on your face.

"Obviously we will make stops at various locations as we travel between our destinations. In particular, there is supposedly a store filled with confectionery treats in between Kirin High and the warehouse district."

"Sweet," you start smiling while placing an arm around your brother, "Lets go have some fun, bro."

In what order will you search the locations?

[] Yamato's Suggestion (Warehouses, Kirin High, Beach)

[] Kirin High, Warehouses, Beach

[] Beach, Warehouses. Kirin High

[] Kirin High, Beach, Warehouses

[] Beach, Kirin High, Warehouses

[] Warehouses, Beach, Kirin High

There we are.

Sorry it's so short. Wasn't 100% sure how I wanted this to go.

Anyway, to explain the important of the order of the locations, it essentially determines how easy it is to find something/someone in the locations. The first location will be the easiest (70% to 80% chance), the second will be difficult (50% to 60%), and the third will be the hardest (40% to 50%).

However, each location will also require different skills to find something in and depending on whether it was your first or second search, the DC could be easier.

Also, if you were to check Yamato's Character Sheet, you'll see he used his weekend to train some Perception Skills.

Your brother is prepped.
