[X] Hang out with Ritsuko (Relationship: 4/10; 10/8 RP: Can Rank Up)
"You feeling OK there, Ritsuko?" you ask the girl walking on your right. She's got her hat off, letting her black hair flow freely in the city breeze. Her jacket is actually buttoned up for once, her hands in their pockets to keep them warm. Her eyes are glued to the street below, face constantly shifting between a frown and a scowl.
She doesn't look at you, but does answer your question, "Sure. Why you asking?"
You can clearly hear the clipped tone in her voice. But...

...You can tell it's not directed at you.
"Did Yuna snitch on you or something?"
Her eyes widen a bit, before narrowing. Then she looks up at you with a scowl, "How do you do that?"
"Do what?" you ask, honestly confused.
"That thing where you know exactly what to say?" she keeps her eyes locked on you...which has the unfortunate side effect of making her almost bump into someone else who's face is in their phone.
You quickly grab her arm and pull her to your side to stop the collision. Your timely intervention is the only reason she manages to avoid the other person. Ritsuko, too focused on glaring after the person who almost ran into her, doesn't notice how you're currently holding hands right now. Her hand is...surprisingly soft. There are callouses here and there, but you expected the skin to be rougher considering how she's used to fighting. Wonder how many real fights she's actually been in?
After she yells at the other person to watch where they're going, she turns back to you...and notices that you're examining her hand. She quickly pulls away and places her hand back in her pocket. Then she clears her throat before continuing, "Soooo, yeah, uh, how do you do that? You good at reading people as well as breaking their faces?"
[Perception: People: 3]
You shrug, "Not really. Just good at understanding emotions. I could tell you were upset and, based on how you've spoken pretty lowly of your family whenever you mention them, I guessed it had something to do with them. If it wasn't Yuna, I would've guessed your dad."
The two of you have been walking for a bit now and not much has happened. The two of you aren't really doing anything specific. You're just walking down the streets and enjoying the cool air of the city. Which is probably why the both of you have closed up the front of your clothes. It may look cool, but you're not willing to freeze your nips off to look good.
Ritsuko stares at you for a bit, then she chuckles while shaking her head, "Of course that's it."
"What do you mean?"
"Forget it," she waves the topic off, her scowl returning, "But yeah. You got it in one. Dumbass brother of mine figured out that I was hanging out with you when I'm not at school. Tattled to dad and the old man got on my ass."
You flinch at the thought, "That's gotta suck."
"Eh, I'm used to it by this point. Guy's always going on and on about how I need to 'be more careful with how I live my life' and shit like that. As if he knows anything," her words trail off as she starts mumbling. Then she turns up to you, "What about you, Hayato? Your dad give you any trouble over fighting in that raid?"
"I don't know my father," you speak honestly. Your eyes turn towards the sky as your mind goes to the thought of your parents, "I only have a single memory of him and my mother. Of them telling me to keep my brother safe, no matter what. Got a bunch of their stuff in my room back at the dorm...but haven't really done anything with it yet."
You rub the back of your neck nervously. Ritsuko's eyes have gotten as wide as dinner plates as she just watches you for a few moments. Then she shakes her head, "You're...you're unreal Hayato."
You hum questioningly. She rolls her eyes then starts counting off on her fingers, "You're not that book smart, but you're strong as hell and good at understanding people on an emotional level. You don't know your parents, just know that they told you something important that you've taken to heart. You managed to take on multiple people at once and win without any issue. And you're willing to put yourself into dangerous and disadvantageous positions if it means helping people."
"So...what you're saying is...?"
"Dude! You sound like a Shounen Protagonist come to life!" she exclaims before laughing loud enough that some people turn to look at you.
You blink twice. Then you scratch your cheek and smile nervously, "Heh, heh. You think so?"
"See!" she points up at you, "You're even scratching your cheek like they do!"
She keeps laughing at the supposed revelation while you just enjoy her company. You're not sure if what she says is completely true. You don't think you're nearly as cool as some of those characters. But...well...recent events do match up with those kinds of stories.
After you walk for a while longer, Ritsuko takes on a thoughtful expression. She places her arms behind her head and hums, "Still...living with no parents? That sounds like it must've been a pretty good life. One that I wish I had been able to have."
"I'm not sure you do," you say as a frown comes over your face.
She shrugs, "Why not? You must've had total freedom to do whatever you wanted. You could get a job, buy your own place to stay at, use your own money to buy your own food. Not have to listen to parents breathing down your neck. Not having to constantly watch your back in case daddy decide to send his bodyguards to watch you. Being able to invite people over to your place for parties without worry. Sounds like the good life to me."

...She really thinks that's what it was like. She honestly believes that living alone the way you do was that fun. She clearly has a skewed vision of what that kind of life is like.

But she covets it all the same. The life she has feels suffocating and restrictive. So she thinks she can just drop it all and live on her own. That it'll be easy and won't cost her anything.
You don't think she's expecting you to answer. But it's clear hearing your thoughts on it would likely effect her views a bit.
[] Be straight about it with her. Tell her the truth, even if it hurts.
[] Don't answer. Let her figure it out herself.
[] Encourage her. Who knows? She might actually manage it!
The Interest DC would've been higher if Ritsuko was better at hiding her emotions.
Also, much like another Quest inspired by AGG (Throne of Tokyo) I'm not doing the "Perfect Conversations" thing.
Instead, all options are valid and will lead to different outcomes/development for characters based on what you do/say.
