A Beacon of Hope in the Darkness: Warhammer 40,000 Xeno Civ Quest

@Zolarian01 What exactly does 'putting a hiatus on Operation Xel'danar' mean? Does this mean that we cannot take Military actions while the hiatus lasts? Does it affect the amount of Infrastructure actions we can take?

I guess I did not elaborate with sufficient clarity there. My bad.

This hiatus is directed at major civilian and military infrastructure projects under the purview of Operation Xel'danar (namely, the Major Projects under the Infrastructure Section, as well as the options to build military infrastructure in the Military Section). In simple terms, you won't be able to do any of that while the hiatus is in force.

So the Major Projects in the infrastructure actions will be locked for two turns?

Yes, as well as the Military Section (excepting Project Nef'ar'zal, as that is a research project).

And before you start panicking, think of it as a reprieve for the economy, so that it can get back to running on full speed ahead again later on.

We've got ships, we've got guns. I'd prefer to not lose the major infrastructure projects but we do need to keep people happy. I'm more of a research guy anyway.

So as part of the economic slowdown to keep the population happy not only do we lose the option to build up the military infrastructure but we also lose the ability to build up civilian infrastructure such as mining and arcologies, not just on our homeworld but also on our new lunar colony just as we've established it.

@Zolarian01 Is there an option where we could reduce the number of Infrastructure actions but restrict them to those building up our lunar colony?

Also the options for Project Nef'ar'zal , our super-soldier program, has an option for Genetic Enhancement which requires 2 biotechnology projects to be completed so it can be unlocked. However the only Research option I can find along these lines is Genetic Enhancement Protocols - are there others I'm missing or do we need to complete Genetic Enhancement Protocols before we can access the others?

Also, Genetic Enhancement Protocols is listed as 'Status: Due for execution this year' What does this mean?

@Chaeronea

1. A caveat will be introduced by the Parliament of the People, allowing for limited development of the colonies (only) after 1 turn.

2. You aren't missing any other Biotech projects for now. Actually, it is a bit of a mistake on my part, as Genetic Enhancement can be repeated a number of times.

3. If you look at the plan made by @Archon7 for Turn 14, you will see that the Research Section is full of actions, that when calculated, take two years in total to complete, after assigning all slots to them. Read the Turn 14 overview and Turn 15, and you will be able to understand.

To all those who are taking part in this Quest or watching it, Merry Christmas, you filthy animals...and a Happy New Year!
