Taking a class on either tactics or leadership seems a given, and since we're already somewhat talented at leadership, learning what to order your minions to do seems like a bigger priority.

Aside from that, getting our Alchemy on is nice.

And of course hanging out with Cinder is dual use - it helps both of them with the old monster and gives Yon time with a friendly person he likes.

Slannash got a demon world who is just a really fat man, I am guessing obsession and addiction can relate to food addiction as well.
I mean, obesity is the result of excessive calorie intake. So indulging in food until you get handed an American passport is right up she-who-thirsts' alley.

Nurgle worshippers don't actually get fat, they swell up from disease and the gases released as their bodies slowly putrefy. Actual fat and the related indulgences in food are a Slaanesh thing, as evidenced by that entire ring around Slaanesh's palace that is just an endless feast where people are tempted into eating so much they literally burst.

Also, realistically, we aren't "traitor guardsmen". Yon hasn't betrayed anyone and neither have the others from his sect. They're all loyally following the same hierarchy they've been in all their lives. Calling them "traitor" is propaganda from corpse-worshippers, and propaganda based on some pretty tortured logic at that.

"Look man I just live here."

Probably wouldn't actually fly with any of the imps but it's a funny mental image.

"The imperials say that the only moral path is devoted service to the imperials" isn't a particularly compelling argument, though?

I mean, unless they are actually there, and backing it up with enough force to make the logical limitations of their arguments unimportant... which in this case they are not.

Even in 40k it never was particularly compelling. There's a reason that the Tau were able to get planets to defect to being effectively colonies, because that's still less shit than previously.

They believe in using their tech for bettering people's lives, and using AIs for labor.

Basically, they are acting like a society with advanced tech, while the imperium is half decaying with tech more primitive than ours and more advanced than anything we will likely achieve in the next few hundred years.

Part of it is justified, like the iron rebellion, but the imperium was basically only half done before the emperor died, still using the half measures he set in place and local stuff.

Gift Quote

Okay, fair... but the "enormously, absurdly obese", and the associated thing with the arms tends to suggest at least some Nurgle as well.
Slaanesh isn't just physical pain or pleasure. It is self indulgence and excess in all things. If food gives you pleasure, who has the right to tell you to stop? Your body is to fat to walk around? Then modify it to maintain the mobility you desire while allowing yourself to get even bigger. If having large breasts makes you happy, then go for ones that each weigh more then the rest of your entire body. Let none dictate or stand in the way of your satisfaction and happiness.

(Ignore the drip feed of Chaos that slowly corrupts you and what you consider to be happiness. That's a lie told by the corpse puppets to control you)

On the subject of mutations, my understanding is that "orthodox chaos theology", to the degree that there is such a thing, is that mutations are just a thing that happens, but if you get good mutations that's a sign that you're favored by the chaos gods and if you get bad mutations that's a sign you're disfavored. (The fact that if you are sufficiently capable or already powerful you can just work around what would otherwise be a negative mutation is a feature, not a bug.)

From that perspective Yon's homeworld setup of deliberately directing mutation as cultivation seems to in part be would almost be edging towards heretical. That as much as being "primitives" might be part of where the disdain comes from.

Probably teaches us the most about the all important tech.

These two potentially have synergy.

It is still funny to me how a Xianxia and 40k Chaos can mix so seamlessly.

But then again, there's a reason that the Xianxia I liked best always came from this site. They tend to have a lot less toxic baggage usual for the genre.
