It Belongs to a Museum

@Boney what is covered by "Lustrian Magic"?

Lizardmen, Old Ones, and any "natural" magical phenomena, I'm guessing, but does it also include the magic of the various people who have settled in Lustria—the Norscans of Skeggi, the Vampire Coast, Clan Pestilens etc?

Additionally, would the Siren-Wail be classified as "Lustrian Magic"?

And, on the subject of current goals... It does occur to me that opting for [ ] Far East may allow us just enough of a hint to look into the Jade-Blooded and other potential eastern Vampiric bloodlines. Depending on how well they're known in the relevant Nehekharan and Vampiric circles, that might be a legitimate revelation for the parts of the world we're catering to. As a bonus, if TW:W3 is to be trusted on the matter, some of them are even pirates!
The faction the Dead Flag Fleet is a reference to Zheng Yi Sao's Red Flag Fleet.

(Assuming that the Vampire Coast ever gets another DLC, another original VC character based on her would be a really cool addition!)

Mhm! Aware that piracy in that part of the world is a fascinating slice of history but know basically nothing more... Would be eager to force Boney to do my homework for me learn about it both through a fantasy lens and probably through a little of my own investigation by its prompting!

(The question, of course, is how to get Pahtsekhen to investigate something like this and/or the Jade-Blooded/possible other eastern Vampire bloodlines) within the bounds of plausibility... Opting for '[ ] New Contact (Aelsabrim)' would be the path to it that voting for [ ] Far East would open up, I'd presume.)

Having a bigger reason to pick up and display all these cool weird baubles we got from far away lands sounds like good fun for a quest about running a museum.

If you can facetank whatever the Lizardmen think is an appropriate response to razing one of their ancient irreplaceable sacred Temple-Cities and permanently occupying the ruins, you're not going to be bothered by whatever Ulthuan might try to inflict over a bit of piracy.
Speaking of that, how in hell did Luther manage that? He would have had to fight Slaans and a lot of fanatically devoted Sauruses.

The first two because they expand on topics we already cover and the third because sruff from the East is always interesting hust from sheer novelty. We might get something related to Jadebloods too and while that'd be a coup for our museum, I'm not counting on getting it just yet.

Not gonna lie, part of me just wants to see people realise that the eccentric old man who runs the museum is, in fact, a representative of the Phoenix Throne in however small a fashion.

The goddess fits our strengths and opens up some fun theology possibilities. The East is a flexible option that steers us into a fun worldbuilding area and thematic space we normally wouldn't really have a reason to explore.

That's certainly a choice 4e can make, to have the one kingdom noted for its worship of Mathlann provide the people wanting to hunt down his kid.

We ran a foreign coup in order to get new artifacts? This is like that one time the British Museum was run by the CIA director.
If we were operating like the CIA we'd have attempted to assassinate the current leader and most likely failed miserably before seeding a revolution favourable to our interests. The revolution would work but produce an authoritarian regime.

Lizardmen armies aren't invincible, and while one-for-one Slann are probably the best spellcasters around, there aren't very many of them, and they wouldn't necessarily deploy themselves.

I feel like there's one point here that hasn't been made here in this one's favor during my skimming of the thread since the update: This needs ships and ship parts. We're part of a faction of pirates.
A simple but elegant synergy.

More reasons to research and display magical artifacts, and more magic shinies to grab.

[X] Asur Colonies
Given just how many Asur colonies there were, this is a good extra incentive to go wide, rather than deep.

We don't actually have much in the way of Lustrian Magic exhibits. Lustria, lots. Lustrian *magic*...not so much. Maybe the Siren-Wail. We do have some good leads for it in the form of New Huatl and Nakai the Wanderer, though, and 'Investigate: Luthor Harkon the Sorcerer' is likely to turn up more.

The research one is good for manoeuvring towards being a predominantly magical museum. I was originally against the Anath Raema option because we have enough beasts and I don't particularly want to be pigeonholed that way, but it's a free centrepiece and the option to later make inroads with the Cytharai? I'm always down for a bit of theology. Also this Belodar Whitesurf guy sounds pretty cool, I would like to get more opportunities to interact with him.
