Quite an interesting concept for a last heist! In some weird sense it makes me think of a perfect crime, even though he revealed himself.
the fact is, he got away with it and spend his last year happily retired then sunk all the people who used his services post mortem.

to him it didn't matter if they found out, he would be dead at that point so what does he have to lose.

we have a spy in the Apiary now as the result of the ESP check we failed while agreeing that she be our mole

Is that a confirmed thing?

On one hand, if we consider Wei as a result of a failed ESP check, you'd think him as a spy that's acting to our detriment. On the other hand, kinda hard to think of him as one after that Scarlet Maturity scene where he basically could've let stuff play out instead of speaking up. Granted, that doesn't mean he can't be one btw, just more someone whose actions are a bit indecipherable atm under the assumption of him acting as an enemy.

I think Wei being the result of a failed ESP check here might mean 'if you had figured out/gotten White Tiger to tell you about her brother, you'd fully have her in your corner' rather than 'he is a spy'.

Ye it kind of feels like out of left field for him to be a spy, if only because technically every single member of the reborn dragon iner circle has been a lady

Since we have a lot of lore and I noticed the other corkboards aren't up to date, I made my own !
Holy crap, the effort! Have. +1!
Very nice! I want to use him eventually; he just didn't fit The Guardian Wave here. +1!

I think what I said is "he's here because of failed ESP check and I'm being nice". He has nothing to do with the ESP check itself, but rather is an alternate route to info you missed.

if it wasn't for the fact that someone pointed out that Chihiro is already a Kiara expy I would have made jokes about how, as a redheaded reporter with a perky can-do attitude and a love for getting The Scoop but minimal/no combat ability herself she was an April O'Neil expy.

All she'd need to do is get kidnapped!

….yeah I think I should say it now after stewing on the update a bit more.

@Bitterman my apologies if I'm too blunt about it, but I hope that misunderstanding Black Swan has gets resolved very soon. I don't know what others think, but this is the sort of trope that I've seen more than a hundred times in any romcom/soap dramas and one that I'd rather see go. I was fine with BlackGold when it was just a comedy skit at first and it scratched a very particular itch of mine on bickering couples, but now that it got to this level, I think you clear this up soon. I was half-serious when I said the section struck a pet-peeve of mine when it comes to fic romances

Now to hopefully end this on a nicer note, I wanna be clear and say that I think writing good romances is like a tier that requires a much higher skill ceiling than just writing good stories, with how romances as a genre being a very hit-or-miss to a lot of people I've talked to before. So like I think you shouldn't stress too much about always writing in your best, especially since romance is already difficult af to write about.

I'll take it under advisement? The basis of the misunderstanding is paper-thin (two gay people of the opposite gender won't be dating) and it was always going to be more about Maddie than them.
To be honestly, I am not fan of that trope, and don't think you handle that well. The rest of the romances stuff in the story was very good, but this trope in this update. Not good. Out of 1 to 10, it was a 3. You been handle the romances side of the story well up till now. It's may just be me who feel about it.
